To those in this thread with tonsil stones, please do yourself (and everyone who has to be near your mouth) a favor and buy this mouth wash. Works wonders - haven't seen a tonsil stone in weeks, and I used to get them every few days.

Try this

Your bad breath could have a few causes.

Dry mouth from slight dehydration or from ketones because you're dipping into ketosis between meals. Drink more water firstly and I think gum or sugar free mints are fine - sometimes we over think things and get lost in the details.

I highly recommend a tongue scraper for general oral hygiene and maybe give this mouthwash
and toothpaste a try. Something like this may be helpful for dry mouth that comes along with fasting/ketone breath.

Be careful with Listerine.

Many of their mouthwash contain Phosphoric acid, Citric acid, or Benzoic acid. Generally speaking you do not want to use ANY mouthwash that contains ANY type of acid. ACID is the death of your teeth. Avoid mouthwash that has acid in it.

If you go to Target or Walmart you'll have to DIG to find a mouthwash that doesn't have acid in it.

  • The only mouthwash I can recommend is Therabreath.

I'm sure there are others out there that are good, but I haven't taken the time to read through ingredients and do any testing. However I do know that Therabreath is the only non-prescription mouthwash I've found that contains ClO2 (Chlorine dioxide, essential for killing germs and bacteria). Again DO NOT SWALLOW THIS SHIT, it's good for your mouth and teeth and terrible, absolutely terrible for the rest of you.

When you use it. Make sure to gargle it was well for about 10 to 15 seconds to get the full use of it.

You're gonna have to trust me on this one, but use this: http://amzn.com/B001ET76AI
I tried brushing/flossing/mouthwash, but this is the only thing that works.

I had severe halitosis for years. It was really, really bad.

After years of trying various products and techniques, and figuring out that many toothpastes and mouthwash products can actually make things worse, this is what worked for me:

This. Seriously, this mouthwash eliminates my keto breath for as long as an entire day.

Brush twice a day (once before bed and once AFTER breakfast). Floss at least once (I would say at night, since you’ve eaten all day). Don’t snack throughout the day. Rinse your mouth out with water after meals but NEVER after brushing.

But to answer your bad breath thing, also scrape your tongue. And I hear good things about this:

You need to floss, plain and simple. Just because you know people who don't, and have 'good' breath, doesn't mean it's the case for you. It may not be the source of your breath, but it's still as important as brushing. The only way to better pinpoint your problem is to schedule a visit with your dentist/hygienist and see if they can figure it out. In the meantime, try switching to one of these mouthwashes.

For prevention, gargle non-alcoholic mouthwash. It has to have the right ingredients though, I used a blue Crest one that just stained my teeth and made the problem worse, probably because of the artificial sweetener I discovered in the ingredients. I think you want to look for zinc, and something about oxygenation effects.

I used this stuff to get rid of some tonsil stones that I couldn't push out, it worked after 3 days of gargling each morning and night. I got it at Walgreens.

It's a bit expensive, but it worked great for removal. Once I run out of that stuff, I'll try switching to a different (edit: and half-the-price) clear, zinc mouthwash I saw on the same shelf at the pharmacy.

Just started using new products about a month ago and my bad breath is virtually gone! ( my daughter always tells the truth about my breath lol). Anyways I bought a waterpik off Amazon for like 40 bucks, any kind of oral irrigator will do. Also bought https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001ET76AI/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1483254451&sr=8-1&keywords=bad+breath and the toothpaste they make. Every morning and night I floss, use waterpik, brush using therabreath toothpaste, rinse & gargle with the therabreath mouthwash. Before using the waterpik when I would floss I would have this really funky smell between some of my teeth, now when I floss the smell is completely gone! If you try out my suggestions please let me know how it went! Good luck and hapoy new year!

Therabreath is awesome. Twice a day is recommended but I usually just use it in the morning. Sonicare toothbrush is awesome too. They have therabreath toothpaste too but I need the sensitive stuff.

Do you bite your nails? Cut that out too.

This mouthwash has yielded me two morning after the threesome threeesomes.

I bought two kinds of mouthwash: one with sodium flouride as the active ingredient, and another more expensive kind called TheraBreath. Doesn't look like either of them feature this chlorhexidine you speak of :/

u/H2017 · 1 pointr/askgaybros

In addition to this advice: I recommend recommending an Orabrush tongue brush and this mouthwash. Be sure to use it as directed (one serving swished around for a minute; one serving gargled for 30 seconds).

This is how I eliminated morning breath ;)
