We have used the Thermos Foogo cups for years now. We love them. link to cup

Obviously they’ll leak through the straw if left open and overturned. But closing them has never been a problem for us.

I like the Thermos Foogo Straw Bottles. There is also the new but not released yet sipsnaps that fit any cup and you use your own straw. I believe you can preorder sip snaps now and they ship in august. I learned about sipsnap from their kickstarter campaign.

My son wouldn't do a sippy cup. We also went through a bunch of straw cups and he didn't like the spill proof ones because he had to work too hard to get anything out. And ones with straws that slid under a lid like this got moldy because I couldn't get in there to clean that well because the lid didn't come apart. We ended up with the Thermos Foogo, which he still uses at 2.5.
