"This is who I am" is a beautiful photography book of women of all shapes, sizes, and ages

"Operation beautiful" is full of inspiring stories and quotes

"Already pretty" (by Sally McGraw) and "How to have style" (by Isaac Mizrahi) really inspired me to have more fun with clothes/fashion

"Strong is the new pretty" is intended for younger audiences but is honestly gorgeous and inspiring for all ages

"Read my hips" is an inspiring and funny memoir I read years ago (I don't think she talks much about religion, since I remember enjoying the book and I'm agnostic)

"Body of truth" - a fascinating analysis of the historical and cultural motivations for body shaming

The following books I haven't read yet but I do follow the writers on social media and enjoy their content:

"The body is not an apology"

"Body positive power"

"Things no one will tell fat girls"

"Embody: learning to love your unique body" (I think this is more of a workbook?)

I would love the wallpapers but sadly, my life wouldn’t allow their use.

I love all (high quality) body positive portraiture, and I believe the trans community to be under-represented. As an example of some of my favorite body positive work, Rosanne Olsen did a beautiful series that was published a few years back named This is Who I Am. I couldn’t get her website to load but the last I knew, she still has her studio. Based on my suspicions and, depending on your transportation options, she may not be too far from you. Her work, last I looked, did not feature anyone trans, but I don’t believe that was due to any bias. That book was probably printed 10yrs ago now.

As an example of some exceptional self-portrait work, I just LOVE this portfolio by Miru Kim. Some of her later work I find interesting and enjoyable, but not as compelling as this first portfolio. Maybe she can offer some inspiration for you.

Of course, the most classic nude/body positive works (in my opinion) are Edward Weston’s works of Charis Wilson. She wasn’t trans (this was nearly 100 yrs ago), but didn’t shave and didn’t wear makeup. In her later years she would tell stories of having to examine every print with a loupe, to ensure they weren’t mailing “pornography”... which could land them in jail back then. Ass was OK, as were (I think) breasts, but no genetalia and no pubic hair. Their forced creativity may provide you with inspiration as well. ❤️

If you would like other examples or maybe some books to reference, feel free to PM me. This is not my primary account though so if I am slow to respond please don’t be offended.
