Hi there!
We don't drive either!
So if your pram has a shopping basket, just stash the blanket in there, much easier. Check if your pram has hooks for your handbag / baby bag, if not you can buy hooks in nearly any baby shop / Amazon / pharmacy. I just bought two loose hooks which were on velcro and I can attach them to the pram.
After newborn.... snacks when they start eating. Baby cereal bars are handy. Sippy cup with water. Bottle of water for you. (You can also get cup holders for prams, that's where I put my water bottle!)
Anti bacterial wipes when they start moving / touching everything.
I usually always have 6 nappies in the bag, no matter how long I go out. Baby wipes, Vaseline, change pad. Two outfits for baby and for the love of God, pack a spare outfit for you! Just something simple like leggings and a cute dress or something. You don't wanna be on the bus into town, meeting a friend for lunch, holding your baby when your baby's nappy decides to leak all over you....(a super fast trip into Forever 21 and the bathroom and I finally got to have lunch lol)
As for formula, we only ever did formula too and my MIL found these:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B000UUO61Y/ref=mp_s_a_1_2_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1498429368&sr=8-2&keywords=baby+formula+pots

You just take a bottle or two with water and bring the correct amount of formula in the little pots, easier than bringing the whole box!

And, a pram toy! Preferably something they can grab hold of and chew on when they get older.
Mine has an elastic with wooden clowns on it tied to the pram, I only tied one end cos she got frustrated she couldn't eat them...

Hope this helps, it's all I can think of for now!

I agree, once I got over the initial hurdle of working in into our routine it was so easy especially when we got some of these, http://www.amazon.co.uk/Tommee-Tippee-Closer-Nature-Dispensers/dp/B000UUO61Y !
