Creative Assembly have been busting their asses to patch up the game, if anything just to show they still give a damn about their products.

The surprising thing, is that they seem to have done it, more or less. The AI was incapable of sieging effectively at all at launch but it seems to have been fixed. Time between turns could take up to 5 minutes but that's mostly fixed as well.

There are still some problems though, that will NEVER be fixed since they're such big gameplay changes. Such as the naval combat being little more than a huge ramfest of similar boats crashing into each other. In addition to this, you may no longer muster armies unless you have a general, which leads you to having fewer armies (although this may be a good thing). There's no longer a family tree and the game has been streamlined a bit too much in my opinion.

Check out this thread for more information.

It's currently on sale here if you're interested. Be sure to click on PC Download edition.

In my opinion, if you like the Rome era and total war games, $20 dollars isn't a bad price. I personally like Shogun 2 a lot more but Rome 2 has improved a ton in the past year or so.

It's garbage that Rome 2 Emperor Edition is now supposedly "on sale" for $30...before those DLCs came out, Rome 2 Emperor Edition had been around $15 for the last 3 or so years.

According to this price tracker on the price of Rome 2 on Amazon, Rome 2 hit $30 back in January of 2014, and $20 on May of 2015 on Amazon 3 years ago. And this is Amazon, which usually sells games at higher prices than STEAM. Then you see this huge spike in price around late fall/winter of last year due to the new DLCs. https://camelcamelcamel.com/Total-War-Rome-2-PC/product/B00BQZ5EWW

And according to this price tracker on the price of Rome 2 on STEAM, Rome 2 first hit $15 in November 2014 - which is 3-4 years ago. So according to this one, Rome 2 has actually been on sale for $15 for 3-4 years.

Yeah if you some how avoid the internet, going to amazon will yield great results. In fact let me open steam right now and check some prices of new games. The most expensive games (Aside from Rome total war II for $80) I could find were $70, but they were very recently.

But oh look what is this, that's right the same game for $50.

Lets pick another high priced steam game, ah there some stupid F1 game that is $70 on team. Again we can hop on Amazon and find it for $50 instead.

What I am saying is, if you send more than $50 on PC games in this day and age you are a chump.

PC gaming is barely more expensive that a console for the initial start up and the money you save with things like Humble Bundles, Summer and Winter sales and not having to pay for online ONTOP of also having something you can watch TV, surf the net, multitask and do work on is astronomical.

I am so sick of people claiming that console gaming is oh so much cheaper, because if you think that then you have either

A) Not looked far enough into it.

B) Live in a country where PC gaming is near impossible, EG portugal where hardware prices are a joke.

C) Are a fucking idiot.

You are on Reddit, that tells me that you can read and you have a computer with an internet connection. Now go out and learn.

PS. This was not directed at you and is instead directed at the general population who think that PC gaming is super expensive, and yes it is hard but a lot of good things in life are hard and if you can't even commit to making a PC you have bigger problems.

Shout out to mah boiz /r/BuildApc they are the bomb.

I bought a box copy of Shogun and I was able to install off the DVDs.

I think this is a box copy of Rome II. http://www.amazon.com/Total-War-Rome-2-Pc/dp/B00BQZ5EWW/
