Thank you! Should I buy my own router and rent their modem? I'm asking because the wifi in built in routers/modems they supply is usually horrible.

Edit: I meant to say own modem/router. Would this work for example?

> you need to complain to Xfinity.

Are you saying it may be a compatibility issue? What should my complaint be?

As a second question, is a router limited by the modem it's connected to? If combo units aren't recommended, I may just spring for a C7 router. However, will my older N300 modem limit the newer C7's capabilities if I just use the N300 as a modem (turn off router functions)? This is the one I bought. It was the cheapest Wifi modem that I found and it works great. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01EO5A3RQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Oh, then it's as simple as picking up a new modem, no?

Example - Comes with an additional ethernet port, is coaxial, has wireless. First one I picked on Amazon.

Edit: The one I linked didn't come with WiFi. Oops.
