A guy over at r/fasting is on something like 100 days and he's only had vitamins and this stuff:

Full disclosure: I know nothing about fasting other than what I've read on here. I am trying 16:8 for the first time today, though :) and this is my first post in here!

I’m a big fan of trace minerals for keeping any keto flu at bay.

I personally really enjoy this brand for my electrolytes. I'm mainly deficient not b/c of diet, but b/c of drinking nothing but distilled water ( i refuse to drink city tap water, although it does have trace minerals)

You see in our primordial lives, we drank water from streams and aquifers which are salinated and have the minerals our body needs.

We just dont get that with city water anymore.

Hii! I’ve been using this for a couple months

I put 5 drops per 8 oz of water and it keeps me regular too because of the magnesium! I probably consume about 40 drops of it a day.

Sadly for me, it makes sense.

How would you recommend to take sodium/potassium supplement during the fast. Simply distilled in water ?

edit : actually I messed up with the electrolytes I'm having, it is this one and it looks like it has more sodium and potassium, but the same magnesium issue.

u/manunkind13 · 2 pointsr/fasting

Normally, just replenishing a little bit of sodium works well for me so it's just your basic sea salt.

I've used this stuff in the past too:

The stuff you mentioned sounds like it would work as well.

I use this stuff. It has a slightly salty taste to it but if it’s diluted enough you probably won’t notice.

This is what I typically use but I also used this on a rim to rim up at the Grand Canyon a few years back.

There may be better products out there but this just happens to be the brand I'm familiar with.

In the beginning I started and ended my day with a cup of broth. Now when I figured out what works for me I'm drinking it as needed. Bought Knorr's bullion cubes because making my own is not feasible.

My morning bucket of coffee(24oz) is seasoned with Morton's lite salt and coconut oil.

I take 57oz bottle of water to work and add 1/2 Lite Salt. I salt most of my foods.

Purchased 40000 volts and mix it with my water.

All that preparation helped me avoid the dreaded flu in the beginning.

Later on you will learn to listen to your body and provide based on need.

Good luck.

I use "40,000 Volts!" by Trace Minerals Research

u/botojomomo · 1 pointr/ketoscience

Thanks for asking, yeah I have experimented with various amounts of lite salt, things like magnesium supplements, and 40000 Volts. It did not seem to make much of a difference (except for diarrhea when I took too much).

u/bodybybutterandbaby · 1 pointr/xxketo

So I just started using this as was the recommendation on a Facebook group I'm in. I can't figure out though if it's a good thing or not as I've been retaining fluid like crazy. I think maybe I'm not drinking enough water with this amount of electrolyte. Not sure. Still in trial and error phase.

Also it tastes nasty but I just take a slightly diluted shot in some Bai and then chug water. You only need 1tsp.

I used this yesterday. I felt much better after a while. 40,000 Volts

Because it is the healthiest water and I want my water to be as pure as possible. Don't worry I add the good minerals back with this thing:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trace-Minerals-Research-Electrolyte-Concentrate/dp/B000Z98KF8/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1482714603&sr=8-3&keywords=trace+minerals
