This one is worth considering, but I don't think it is waterproof: Leisure Jacket for Amazon Kindle

Another option is to check a sporting goods store. I found these in a local store. They are similar to this one, but significantly cheaper.

Here's an Amazon search for Kwik Tek Dry Pak. Lots of different sizes and features there.

They aren't waterproof at all but that being said it wouldn't take much effort to seal one up in a waterproof enclosure for transport.

A drybag for every purpose.

Man did I already mention the time when I was 19 and I had to cut myself off from used book stores for a hot minute? Was working at an outdoor facility for a minor pittance after room and board, spending a large chunk of my miniscule checks at the nearest used bookstore. Picked up a ton of gems there, in fact many that I kept through my initial book purge. Got several of the serialized edition of Essence of Alan Watts, Kahlil Gibran's 'The Prophet' in pocket size, so many more. I was big into this idea that bettering myself should be my first priority, and that one of the best ways for me to do that was to acquire knowledge, to read voraciously.

I think it's because I love books so much, because I already went through the cognitive dissonance of book-ownership and minimalism, that the anti-kindle sentiment always throws me off (even though if anything I should understand it more). Kind of like in Starship Troopers...ok, I hear the snickers, in this context it should be apparent I'm referring to the excellent novel by Robert Heinlein, upon which the movie was very loosely based - ie it had the same title and both were set in space. So anyways, Troopers, the book is all about the mental transformation of the protagonist, it's really a brilliant character piece. So we start the novel with Johnny viewing all these wounded army zealots as ludicrous, thinking that what they had attained was not worth the sacrifice that they had made. Spoiler alert, the book ends with Johnny so much a citizen, so much a 'wounded army zealot,' that he can no longer understand his own ideology from the start of the book, he has changed that much. A completely different person. Now that I am an ebook zealot, I no longer fully comprehend the incredible symbolic power of physical books. But damn do they still smell great...

I have a case made by TrendyDigital that works great. It has a double zip opening for added protection.
