Some great snorkeling in those stops. If you do consider doing so, get one like this to avoid water in your mouth (I learned the hard way)
We frequent NCL, just off a Hawaii trip last week (and now deep in snow in NYC... talk about shell shock) and have always been happy with the crew. We usually go right to the Spa to book a massage after sail away. A wonderful way to start the cruise.
We also book our excursions through the cruise before sailing. This avoids the lines once on ship (ug!) and guarentees that if something goes wrong that the ship wont leave without us. (double check this, it was true even last week but things change)
Avoid the shops right on the pier, they are a little fun but not local and not very good value. Not bad, just not great
