Nope, Unspeakable: The Story of Junius Wilson is about a deaf man who was put in a mental institution's criminal ward. I haven't read that or I Was #87 in a while, but they're both examples of how deaf people have been put in mental institutions when they didn't have any diagnosis suited to it.
