You mean the awesome party game Telustrations?

Munchkin might be a bit much if your friends aren't 'board game people,' its bit more involved compared to a party game like CaH.

I've been having a lot fun playing Codenames at parties. It's easy to learn and it's flexible with regard to the number of people that can play.

Telestrations is another good party game, it usually degrades into raunchy territory quickly.

EDIT: And I just saw there is an adult version of Telestrations. I may have to get that.

Sorry to hear about your condition. Games I have had a lot of fun when it comes to pick up, no issues are:

Cash N Guns (you pretty much choose which bullet you have to use and point to someone. The whole pointing toward someone with a foam gun is just fun and leads to fun rounds)

Telestrations (which is the telephone game and pictionary combined, it's really great as it depends on everyone's drawing skills. There's a 6, 8 and 12 option so whatever player count is try to grab that one.)

and

[Luchador! Mexican Wrestling Dice] (https://www.amazon.com/Ninja-Division-410502NJD-Luchador-Board/dp/B00NUT8POQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1481191250&sr=1-1&keywords=luchador+mexican+wrestling+dice): For this last one I might be biased bc I like wrestling and I'm from Mexican descent, but it is literally rolling dice into a 3D ring (or mat, it comes with both options) and just yelling and screaming as the announcer. Whenever you pin someone the other person has to throw dice three (four in their first try) times to escape the pin (just to simulate the 1 - 2 - 3 referee count) and it's just fun. I have noticed that even friends that don't like wrestling but know the basic gist of it, still have fun. Especially with the second edition of the game as you can save dice or perform special moves that have an announcer like description and you need to read out loud when performing them . So it pretty much ends up with everyone just yelling moves ("oh my god he threw him into a table" "oh he just hit him with a chair!" and so on as they pretend they're the announcer of the match and read everything out loud.

Hope my suggestions help you a bit. If I remember any other games I'll let you know man.

We're planning on doing something similar! I'm hoping to find party games that play quickly, don't require too many small pieces that could get lost, and are quick to learn. I would avoid actual board games because they tend to be a bit more complicated and take longer to play. Here'a few other games we're considering:

Pass the pigs - basically a dice game but the dice are pigs!
Crokinole - more of a shuffleboard-type game, but it's expensive so only if I can find one for cheap/borrow a friend's
Telestration - telephone game with drawing
Guesstures - high speed charades, there's an electronic version as well
Mad Gab - could be hard to play if the music is loud

We have played Telestrations on several occasions with 8 people drinking. It can be as adult or childlike as the people playing and is always hilarious.

This sounds like Telestrations.

You can certainly play the game on regular paper, as described above. The boxed game only really adds erasable pads and markers, and some word cards to get the thing started.

The Amazon listing does have a nice visual example of how the game goes:

I have nominate /u/LaLocaChristina because in the short few weeks I've been around here, I've seen her give some stuff away that basically just BLEW ME AWAY. Such generosity! To me, it definitely warrants something be gifted to her in return. :D

I think this is a great gift idea cause THIS GAME IS AMAZING if you get a bunch of people together. It's HILARIOUS and everyone should play it.

8 Player Telestrations is only $14.66 on Amazon! This is NOT a lightning deal. That's 51% off!

Everyone loves CAH! Another one that is a huge hit with my drunk friends is Telestrations. Warning: everyone just draws penises.

I want an early present!

Happy Early birthday!

This would be amazing as I am trying to be more social and make people come over. Having games tends to help!

I love both! Some of my favorite board games that are a bit more traditional are The Logo Board Game, Labyrinth, Facts In Five (similar to Scattergories), Scribblish (or Telestrations), and Vampire Hunter. Family Business is another good one, but that might be pushing it a little bit; it's not super deep, but it takes a bit more strategy than a lot of other traditional games. And if you can get an idea of what some of their favorite TV shows are by reading their comments, you might be able to find a game based on one of those. Did they happen to mention what some of their favorite games are? If so, I'd be happy to make some suggestions based on those.

Play board and card games that can be finished in under 10 minutes.

Love Letter | Amazon | Video review -- plays in minutes. You'd be surprised how much fun and strategy a 16 card game can pack. It's for 4 players.

Score each round as an individual win, instead of the official method which is the first person to win 5 rounds wins (it would take too much time).

Love Letter: Batman | Amazon | Video review -- might be a more palatable retheme for the students. There is one rule difference which you should ignore because it would result in multiple round winners -- correctly guessing another player's card earns you a victory cube only knocks your opponent out of the round.

There are many official Love Letter rethemes, but they all introduce rule variations. So be careful about choosing other themes.

Telestrations | Amazon 6-player | 8-player | 12-player | Video review -- It's like the telephone game, but with drawings.

You write a word in a notebook, flip the page, draw a picture of that word, flip the page, and hand your drawing pad to the person on your left. Then, you take your new notepad handed to you by the person on your right, look back at the last drawing, then flip forward and write what you saw, flip the page, and hand the pad to the left. When you eventually get your own pad back, everyone shares their pad one at a time. It's hilarious.

Skip the scoring system. It's beside the point of playing.

Your challenge is finding the right group size to play the game with your limited time, and strictly enforcing the time rule where people stop drawing when the time is up.

You can also play this game on the cheap by stapling sheets of paper together. But Telestrations uses a dry erase note pad, and if you use real paper you'll be going through a ton of paper. The name of the do-it-yourself version is Eat Poop You Cat, for a reason lost to time.

Ask /r/boardgames for suggestions on 10-minute games that meet your target number of players. And ask for which Love Letter rethemes would interest teens the most, while not being too different from the original Love Letter.

For durability of card games, look into getting protective card sleeves. /r/boardgames can point you to sleeves that will fit the specific games you have.

Bro, I bought this game called Telestrations. It's pretty simple, pretty cheap, and laughed my ass off (disclaimer: cannabis). I'd recommend it for non-gamers.

For our white elephant exchange at work, I am giving a zombie chia and my boyfriend (yes we work at the same place but did not meet there) is taking telestrations

u/haterading · 1 pointr/AskReddit

Telestrations!!!

It's basically a mix between telephone and pictionary and ends up being inappropriate/hilarious reaaaaal quickly!

u/n734lq · 1 pointr/AskReddit

If I'm not mistaken, the game is called Telestrations.

Here's what I'd do if I had to rebuild a collection from scratch for $1k trying to have a wide variety of play styles:

7 Wonders $32.99
Agricola $45.79
Battlestar Galactica $39.97
Carcassonne $30.02
Carcassonne Inns & Cathedrals$15.71
Dixit $22.65
Dominion Big Box $69.18 Prosperity is one of the best expansions; Alchemy is not, but you're pretty much getting it for free in this set.
Eclipse $61.49 It wouldn't be a board game library without a 4X game, and I think Eclipse is the best currently.
Eldritch Horror $40.47 - I love Arkham Horror, but Eldritch streamlines a lot of the fiddly rules of the original.
Formula D [$41.96] (http://www.amazon.com/Asmodee-FDUSASM-Formula-D/dp/2914849648/ref=sr_1_1?s=toys-and-games&ie=UTF8&qid=1395757676&sr=1-1&keywords=formula+d)
Gloom $17.98
Guillotine $13.52
King of Tokyo $30.19
Love Letter $9.34
Memoir 44 $47.43
No Thanks! $9.98
Pandemic $31.65
Power Grid $32.27
Puerto Rico [$31.20] (http://www.amazon.com/Rio-Grande-Games-195RGG-Puerto/dp/B00008URUT/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1395756360&sr=8-1&keywords=puerto+rico)
Race for the Galaxy $24.11
Resistance, The $17.99
Roborally $37.49
Settlers of Catan $37.99
Telestrations $19.99 Awesome and funny party game. My friends and I eventually tire of Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity, but seldom do so with this.
Ticket to Ride $37.24
Ticket to Ride 1910 Expansion $18.21
Tsuro $24.22
Twilight Struggle $49.98
Village $35.47
Wits & Wagers $19.99

That comes up to $946.47; room for a couple more expansions or another game.
