How come you can get a qc3 car port with USB C on it? Does that port just not use qc3 speeds unlike the type a port on it?

I got this one for my 5x and am using it with the Pixel2 I just use the anker usb c to c cable, or you can use the one that came with your phone.

I think as long as it is a trustworthy brand it should be fine. I like Anker or Aukey, and if they're 5v 3a, then if it is drawing 17 watts like /u/xgsopx said then it should be fine.

Edit: Looked through a few of Benson Leung's more recent reviews and it sounds like Aukey has had a few misses lately, so maybe avoid them.

Does Quickcharge 2.0/3.0 on the USB-A port (turbo power on the MXPE). It also does USB-PD on the USB-C port (fast charge for the 6P). It even does them both at the same time.

The price seems to vary a bunch though, I paid $14.99 for one, then $12.99 for the second one, the current price is $17.99 (this is all within the last three weeks)

That breakout board looks interesting. You'll have to add an arduino to configure the Fairchild FUSB302 and a 5V automotive grade switching regulator.

Aukey makes a good one that's typically cheaper than name brand stuff. I have a few different Aukey chargers and they've been fantastic.

Yeah, the phone charges rapidly on this cable. Haven't seen any issues with this cable at all. It freed up my original C to C cable to be used with this in the car. Charge rate is somewhat slower in the car but that's OK. Still about 1% per minute.

Hi! So I think I can bring some insight to your post. I assume this will be the same, however when I bought my Pixel XL 2, it came with a female USB-A to male USB-C adapter. This adapter can be used on a longer USB-A cable so that you have that capability of charging and also plugging the phone into your car/radio if applicable.

Secondly, I wouldn't recommend using anything USBA>USBC simply because you will not be experiencing the fast charge through that type of cable. Fast charge is only supported only with a USBC cable and proper power brick.

Did not charge/top off the phone at all. Just kept it running I guess, I will check the ma's with the app, I've been doing this for a while.

This one looks pretty good if you already have a cable.

I also have that second Anker charger with a power line plus cord. Great combo and it does indeed rapid charge. Anker makes really good products.

This is the one I use with usb C to usb C cable and it fast charges in my car. I had similar issue earlier with my old quick charge 3.0 charger. This one also works with my cable that I got from Samsung.

I I have this one that I bought over a year ago for when I had my Nexus 6. I use a usb to usb-c cable and either port charges adequately.

I might recommend this one that will allow you to use your longer usb-c to usb-c cable.

They also sell one that had a quick charge 3.0 port as well as a USB type c port.

I've never heard of that problem, but cheap chargers aren't really worth it. A good one isn't that expensive.
