How come you can get a qc3 car port with USB C on it? Does that port just not use qc3 speeds unlike the type a port on it?

I'm sorry, I linked the wrong Aukey charger. This is the one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01E764DXM/ref=psdcmw_2407770011_t2_B018TGGH4E

I got this one for my 5x and am using it with the Pixel2 I just use the anker usb c to c cable, or you can use the one that came with your phone.

u/Lucosis · 3 pointsr/NintendoSwitch

I think as long as it is a trustworthy brand it should be fine. I like Anker or Aukey, and if they're 5v 3a, then if it is drawing 17 watts like /u/xgsopx said then it should be fine.

I like this one from Aukey.

Edit: Looked through a few of Benson Leung's more recent reviews and it sounds like Aukey has had a few misses lately, so maybe avoid them.

Aukey CC-Y1

Does Quickcharge 2.0/3.0 on the USB-A port (turbo power on the MXPE). It also does USB-PD on the USB-C port (fast charge for the 6P). It even does them both at the same time.

The price seems to vary a bunch though, I paid $14.99 for one, then $12.99 for the second one, the current price is $17.99 (this is all within the last three weeks)

I have these and can verify that they all Turbo Charge the X4, should work fine for the 5X as well:

That breakout board looks interesting. You'll have to add an arduino to configure the Fairchild FUSB302 and a 5V automotive grade switching regulator.

Much easier to but a ready-made adapter like this one: https://www.amazon.com/AUKEY-Charger-Charge-Dual-Port-Samsung/dp/B01E764DXM

I just started using this combo and it works well.

Aukey makes a good one that's typically cheaper than name brand stuff. I have a few different Aukey chargers and they've been fantastic.

Yeah, the phone charges rapidly on this cable. Haven't seen any issues with this cable at all. It freed up my original C to C cable to be used with this in the car. Charge rate is somewhat slower in the car but that's OK. Still about 1% per minute.

Snagged a Grey one today... Missed the amazon $354 sale the other day..

Picked up the Spigen Case, AUKEY QC3 Car Charger ($11.99 lightning deal earlier) to go with it.

I have this one,

Aukey Car Charger - Amazon

It supports Quick Charge 3.0 and also has a 5V 3A port. It will quick charge the Pixels.

I use this one.

Hi! So I think I can bring some insight to your post. I assume this will be the same, however when I bought my Pixel XL 2, it came with a female USB-A to male USB-C adapter. This adapter can be used on a longer USB-A cable so that you have that capability of charging and also plugging the phone into your car/radio if applicable.

Secondly, I wouldn't recommend using anything USBA>USBC simply because you will not be experiencing the fast charge through that type of cable. Fast charge is only supported only with a USBC cable and proper power brick.

Here is the car charger I use. I specifically chose this because I'm able to power my police radar detector via USBA and charge my phone via USBC: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E764DXM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And here is a 10ft USBC cable that I bought because it was rated as a "safe" cable back when the USBC standard was rolling out with Nexus 6Ps and such: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D175HMO/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'm using this one, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E764DXM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 with a 3ft cable now, I went to dinner, it was at 82%, drove home with Nav for 35mns and it was still around 82% or so. Did not charge/top off the phone at all. Just kept it running I guess, I will check the ma's with the app, I've been doing this for a while.

This one looks pretty good if you already have a cable.

I also have that second Anker charger with a power line plus cord. Great combo and it does indeed rapid charge. Anker makes really good products.

My wife uses this one

That also rapid charges her pixel.

Anker PowerLine II USB-C to C... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071JRXZCZ

This is the one I use with usb C to usb C cable and it fast charges in my car. I had similar issue earlier with my old quick charge 3.0 charger. This one also works with my cable that I got from Samsung.

u/IDwannabe · 1 pointr/Nexus6P

I I have this one that I bought over a year ago for when I had my Nexus 6. I use a usb to usb-c cable and either port charges adequately.

I might recommend this one that will allow you to use your longer usb-c to usb-c cable.

u/SScorpio · 1 pointr/GooglePixel

They also sell one that had a quick charge 3.0 port as well as a USB type c port.

I've never heard of that problem, but cheap chargers aren't really worth it. A good one isn't that expensive.

I have this one and it's good:
