There were several kids at the San Fran show a couple of years ago, many of whom were in GA. I know you can see some of them in the fan cams, especially one girl about eight years old who sat on someone's shoulders most of the show. A BABYMETAL crowd is very friendly, I saw several people actively keep moshers and circle pits away, in a friendly manner, from some of the kids when they got too close without anyone getting upset.

At one point, I helped open up a passage for one young woman who had gotten hurt and was being led off to the sides by others. All I had to do was to make moshmates aware of her and they immediately opened up a path.

I have the earplugs below and would recommend them or some like them. They are designed to reduce the decibel level, while not distorting the actual sound of the concert. They are often referred to as concert earplugs.

BTW, maybe I will bump into you at the Houston show!

I would give concert earplugs a try if you can. The are not designed to block all the sound like regular earplugs are, so the range of sounds should be closer to what it is intended to be, just quieter. I've never tried them myself, but as a semi-audiophile, I've read a lot about them on various audio forums.

I'd say yes. I went with these when I went in 2016 and thought it was a smart move.

I was able to get to sleep without that high pitch ringing keeping me up. Good for you over time as well.

I have 2 pairs of those and like them alot one pair is always in my gig box. They don't attenuate 350-550hz at all though, so the bark of the Snare comes right through. Ouch.

I also got a pair of V-Moda Faders for free and actually prefer them to the etymotic ones. I've been recommending these to people now. Nice flat attenuation without the "stuffy feeling" and you can have a normal conversation with them in.

My favorites though are my custom molded that I got at Costco believe it or not. Many of them have hearing aid centers and it is only about $60! They make the molds and send them off (I believe they use Sensaphonics) to get made.

If it's not enough, throw some Comply foam tips on there.

I use these. They're good for concerts to! http://amzn.com/B007TEQNBK

I bought a pair of V-MODA Faders, largely because

  • They come with different size tips
  • They come with a handy carrying case

As a bonus, they have a detachable cord which is nice for not losing them.

They reduce sound evenly by about 12db. Some of the alternatives people have posted will do 20 or even 30db (with foam tips), but so far I've found 12db to be plenty. My ears feel great coming out of a show.

(Also watch for Amazon warehouse deals, I got my set for half price because the packaging had some minor cosmetic damage...)

Auch eine gute Lösung, wenn man einfach nur seine Ruhe haben will, und keine Musik hören möchte.

If you go to concerts / danceclubs I highly recommend buying a pair that's suitable for music listening. These are specially designed to not muffle the noise just cut volume.

I have this pair:
$13 USD: http://smile.amazon.com/Etymotic-Research-ETY-Plugs-Protection-Earplugs/dp/B0015WJQ7A/

The ER-20s work great but I found them uncomfortable for more than a few minutes use. I do use them while doing a full DJ set though - usually an hour but my ears canals are sore when I'm done.

These look a little nicer and when mine wear out I'm probably going to buy these as a replacement, $19 USD:

These are supposed to be more comfortable for long use.

V-MODA Faders have been my go to for the past few years, I use the string/case to wear it around my neck between sets at festivals.

I use these. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B007TEQNBK/ref=cm_sw_r_udp_awd_LwJTtb0YX9BD1 but in the electo-pink so they are easy to spot anywear I drop them. They are designed for use at concerts but still give good sound. So I can still hear vehicles and voices just fine. I also wear a full face that also helps with blocking the sound.
