Before going the portable amp route, try this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00ZK43S4Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_4DqiybPP566NJ

A simple adapter like this will trick the V20 into a higher output mode (stating "an external audio device connected" instead of normal device in the HiFi settings). The V20 basically reads it as an aux cord.

Definitely a major key for my M50x headphones, which the V20 natively reads as a normal pair of headphones since they are under 50 ohms. But the extra juice is a game changer.

These are very similar to the extenders we ordered: https://www.amazon.com/Vastar-Headphone-Smartphones-Connectors-Distortion/dp/B00ZK43S4Q

I can also share my tinkercad .stl file if you'd like. it's just that the dimensions of the clips are only specific to the 2 types of cases we use (the name eludes me currently sorry).

Maybe try something like this on the end of your cord. It'll make the connection to the phone a 4-pole.

I've been using this small extender for several years with my 215s with no issues. Never did find a case that I liked that could also accommodate the plug on a 215.

There are all kinds of adapters on amazon. Example 1. Example 2.
