Right now it is is made with what I had laying around. My next step is to find a suitable elastic cinch strap to use instead. I am currently thinking about these but I do not know if they can be cut down or if the Velcro is a good match for the one used on the Quest arms.

For the one in the photos I used a cut down Velcro One Wrap that would fit through the Quest arms hole at the front. I sewed it to a 4 inch piece of sewing elastic folded in half similar to this. For the DAS I used a spudger and inserted it between the arm and the plastic piece and they separated fairly easily since the glue they use is not super strong. Once out I drilled 4 small holes at the end of the DAS arms in the shiny plastic area so I can sew through to attach the other side of the elastic. then used a small piece of one wrap and push into the Quest arms. Really not purpose other than to make the arms not move around as much at the edge.

I made sure that I could pull the arms out almost all of the way when I was securing the velcro to the sides. They pull out a little more than is visible on the stock DAS strap.

This post is the idea behind the velcro mod. The way I implemented it was slightly different. I stuck some velcro sticky bits on the side of the headset. Then I got a couple of elastic velcro straps that thread through themselves and wrapped them around the headstrap by the earphones. I don't think they need to be elastic though. Here is a gallery of what I did.

And here is a rubber band mod.

Like others, I would worry about my phone flying out in this setup. I image you could fashion something with this stuff that works much better for not a heck of a lot more.

If you dont need it to be quick release, something like this might work: https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand-Purpose-Straps-Elastic/dp/B00006IC2R

I was considering buying something like this https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand-All-Purpose-Fastening-Organizing/dp/B00006IC2R and making a overhead strap (from ear to ear like a headphone).

No problem! I was just as relieved as you when my display started to stay on longer than 2 seconds. Enjoy!

I would suggest some velcro straps to keep the battery from shaking as hard on your rides. Something like this: https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand-Purpose-Straps-Elastic/dp/B00006IC2R. I also found this at home depot for $3-4.
