I read over your initial post and then this one.

I see verticle triple mount arms, is there something about these you don't like?

If that's not what you want, then there are some options to consider. It looks like your displays are using TN panels, so there is going to be viewability issues at certain angles. That's how TN panels work, you need to decide if you can live with that. I mention that, because the bottom monitor in that David Zhang video is going to be hard to read; the colors are going to be completely off. Now, if you are standing, they might look find, but sitting, not so much. I'd experiment with propping that bottom monitor on books or something and see how things feel for you.

I think the dual-monitor pole mount and one of those small flat-angle mounts for on the desk top could work for you if you want this layout, just make sure you take into account all the measurements and you can in fact layout your displays with enough space. There's nothing worse then getting all your equipment setup, but you're short a bit and nothing fits! Been there, not fun.

As far as the power brick, that's annoying! I always hated those external power supplies. There's a few things you could do. You could try mounting them to the backs of the monitors using self adhesive cable tie mounts and ties. Or you could attach the power brick to the mount pole using ties as well. Or if the cable coming out of the brick is long enough, you can plug into the monitors and hide the bricks under your desk using a cable conduit or cable tie mounts + ties again. You might need to buy longer power cables or power cable couplers to make sure you'll reach your surge/ups/outlet and have enough slack to raise/lower your desk. I'm not daring enough to try and solder my own power supply as another use mentioned; too risky!

Hope this helps and good luck!

I use this mount

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00FPTHAOA/ref=mp_s_a_1_15?qid=1458619057&sr=8-15&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=vivo+triple+monitor+stand

I have a 32" up top with one other 22" on the mount and two 19ers sitting on each side. I like it a lot and couldn't imagine not using a mount. It should support your TV as I would imagine you'll be able to tighten the joints if need be

Monitor mount was a triple mount that I dropped to 2 by removing the center mount. It mounts to the desk via a heavy duty clamp.

Did a little more searching and found this. My thinking is to put the 40" on top, leave the middle open, and the bottom would house my smaller monitor, at around 14 pounds. I'm no engineer, so would the extra 3-4 pounds really make that much of a difference even if the mounts are rated at 20+ lbs each?

I used Vivo! monitor stands. Its actually a mix-match of several.

The left two are supported by this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009S750LA

the right two are supported by a combination of:

  1. pole from 1x http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FPTHAOA
  2. arms from 2x http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B21TLQU

Because Vivo doesnt make Tall pole with arms. I can understand, they are worrying about the structural integruity if someone tries to arm up 3 monitors on one pole, and I will be honest the torque that my top monitor is putting on that pole is quite a bit, it definitely bent out a few degrees from the strain; however given how relatively light these monitors are (27" qnix, very litle plastic and a thin led panel) and the very high quality of the pole+arm mounts (I VERY MUCH RECOMMEND the mounts by the way) I am not worried a lot -- but I will be keeping an eye on it.

Oh and yeah, the "perfectly organized" comment. I so agree. It actually irks me when people put up a picture of a setup so clean, its like they put it together just to show off. Like thsoe people who fill their shelves with books they never once cracked open but are considered classics so they want to show it off. I work here, I game here, its a big part of my life and its not perfect, but its damn efficient and it has everything that I need.
