It works decently well, but it kills me to use a cheap little headphone amp instead of the trusty 5150 combo that has served me well for 8 years. As for getting the bass version...that's a possibility, although then I feel silly for spending $250 on an amp in the first place, if I can't use it. I'd rather put that money into insulating/isolating the bass amp cab so it doesn't disturb the neighbor when practicing.
Also, if you go electric, get something like this. I have one and it helps when practicing while everyone else is sleeping. :)
