If you look at our closest evolutionary cousins, the chimpanzees, they too have a quasi-patriarchal system of social organization with dominant males leading bands of chimps. Very young boys naturally work together. They sometimes jostle for position in the dominance hierarchy but they understand that the only way they survive individually is if the group survives.

Women almost always reproduce and every child is extremely needy. You have to pretend to be nice to al everyone even if you hate them because they might give you resources someday. In have you probably DO hate them, especially the other women, because they are competitors for the resources being brought to the group. From a very young age girls can be seen acting two faced with each other.
