I use SuperDuper on a Macbook Pro. I've found the cheapest method is to get a USB enclosure (I got mine for around $10), and then order a 1 or 2 TB bare 3.5" drive as my backup destination. Runs at night in the background and makes a sparse image. Super Duper is also great for cloning your OS drive.

So I am thinking about selling my current PC either as it is or in parts to make way for upgrading to and then building a new PC. The specs are:
Case - CiT Spectre 2x
GPU - MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 760
Mobo - AsRock Z77 Pro4
CPU - i5-3330 3.0GHz
RAM - Komputerbay 2x 8GB DDR3
HDD/SSD - WD Caviar Green 2TB, Kingston 240GB SSD (Note: I would probably keep these if I sold the system)
PSU - Corsair CX600M

Why? I know the Black drives are faster, (I own a Black 1TB) but this is just for raw data storage.
I can get a 2TB on Amazon for $115 Not a bad deal if you ask me.

This plus four of these. Ain't cheap, but I bought the drives back when they were cheaper; about $85 apiece.
Of course, that doesn't help you much if you're running a remote seedbox.
That may have been some time ago but I have one sitting on my desk right now that's 7200 RPM. They do make 7200RPM green drives now. Heres one from Amazon if thats better suited for you, I can also upload a picture of the specs on the label of my drive if you would like.
