constructed with EVA foam of various thicknesses, crayola model magic for details, coated in 65D rotocasting plastic for a hard shell. Painted with Rustoleum Hammered paint

edit: and a whole lot of Streetlight manifesto

That shape seems pretty conventional to me. Unless you're talking about the bicep cover, but that's a feature of some hockey pads. If those bicep covers aren't long enough, heat some EVA foam to a curve and glue or sew some fabric on.

Is that what you were asking?

I made one but I decided that I was going to go balls deep and try one of the most difficult designed mau5 heads out, the disco head. Long story short it cost me about ~$300 to make, not counting 2 others that I messed up on.

Materials:

-Head

-Eyes

-Head Mount

-Mouth Mesh

-[2] Led lights for coloring the eyes

-Superglue for mouth

-[2] Plastic glue for Headmount

-About [6-10] Rhine stone glue bottles

-[3] bags of Rhinestones

-Foam Ear material ---> With Ear template

-Washers -[4] Threaded Rods -Wing nuts

-Chrome Spray paint

-Lastly, Insulation Strips [White]

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Stuff I had: Dremel, stubbornness, no life, sharpies, too much free time.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Use any of the above tuts to get the general idea.

The template for the ears, (mine are huge).

Once the mouth is cut and you accounted for the eyes (pop the eyes in half and trace them on.)

Spray paint the whole head chrome, in light mist layers. The more layers the smoother the finish.

Once that's done, enjoy the 90+ hours of putting each rhinestone on, one by one.

Profit.

Just use EVA foam mat and a heat gun to get that nice thick armor plate look. The mats are a bit pricey but i can say that the General Zod suit only cost me about $120 to make. Here is a link to the mats im talking about--- http://www.amazon.com/We-Sell-Mats-Interlocking-Anti-Fatigue/dp/B001EJPGG4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1381351392&sr=8-1&keywords=eva+foam

Follow up question: I do my squats and deads barefoot but on these mats I got from Amazon. Would the mat have the same effect as a cushioned sole?

u/hipswiggle · 1 pointr/Fitness

I can't help with UK, sorry.

But, you want to examine the maximum load the rack/cage can support. Does it max out at 300lb (whatever in kgs, sorry). If you cheap out on a rack that can only support a small weight, you limit how far you can theoretically progress

Also check out the height of the rack. Make sure it fits in the room you want to put it into.

If you're getting a cage, you'll want to examine the construction of the safety bars and j-hooks. Also see if the manufacturer will let you buy replacement parts if you need them.

Most of the equip I buy has rubber feet on it, plus I'm not worried about the cement floor in my basement. But for you, maybe check out Foam Floor pads example.

3/8" is the way to go. I've been working with the foam for a few weeks now making Blood Dragon armor. You'll also want a Dremel tool with some different heads.

Mats I purchased

I got 2 sets and it makes a 6' by 8' workout area that seems to be the perfect size for at least the first 2 workouts (I'm 6'4" for reference). Today will actually be my first day to use them.

I wear five fingers and hop around on this mat: http://www.amazon.com/We-Sell-Mats-Interlocking-Anti-Fatigue/dp/B001EJPGG4/ref=sr_1_3?s=exercise-and-fitness&ie=UTF8&qid=1380733908&sr=1-3.

It slides around on the floor a little bit, but it's worth it so that I don't pound the ground so hard.
