there's no slim gloves that will keep you truly warm. There's no air to heat up and keep you warm, and your fingers don't generate enough heat by themselves, so a slim glove won't really be able to insulate very well.
when I was a bike messenger, I'd switch between mits and neoprene gloves (ie for fishing or for underwater work). Those worked pretty good but actually made my fingers sweaty.
