Brother, Avatar got me into eastern thought and changed my life for the better (thank you Uncle Iroh). There is nothing lame about practicing spirituality. Wisdom doesn't see skin color.

Firstly, think of chakras as [small clusters of nerves located on special pressure points in your body directly connected to your spine] (http://www.metempyrion.org/img/chakras_chart_leadbeater_500x735.jpg). You brain is made of nerves (among other things), so changes in your mentality directly affect these points and thus your overall health.

Guru Patik gave a good "For Dummies" version of Chakras in the show.
However, opening Chakras take a lot longer than it did for Aang. Some people take years to open one, some open all quickly but they get closed up again because "life is messy". And it opening them is not as dramatic.

There are plenty of books you can buy that can help. I suggest books if you are studying spiritual stuff. It has a better affect on your mind and soul than computer screens.

For Chi, I say first look into Taoism. The Tao Te Ching and the book Chi are wonderful resources.

For Chakras, philosophies that originate in Indian are good. Wheels of Life is good, I am told.

I highly recommend Shambhala: The Way of the Warrior. It has nothing about Chi and Chakras, but it is an excellent spiritual read none the less.

Really informative book on Lucid Dreaming and a lot of the techniques apply to expanding consciousness and mindfulness that served me as a good starting point to exploring more into this and other topics.

This was also another great book when I started looking into meditation and more mystical methodologies. It definitely is subjective but both are interesting reads!

Both are easily found online for free too.

> is there something wrong with me that I can't physically feel or imagine any energy emanating from my heart

Nothing is wrong with you or your heart energy.

You can't feel the heart energy because you are not conscious enough to feel it. Read about chakras. Try reading Wheels of Life: A User's Guide to the Chakra System which is one of the best books about chakras.

To build consciousness, you would need to practice meditation regularly. Check r/Meditation.

The key is to learn to lead a stress free lifestyle. Meditation, yoga coupled with exercising can make a welcome change to your emotional well being. When you get lonely your body craves for some attachment (and the happiness that comes with it) and that may lead for you to crave for unhealthy habits like binge watching and binge eating that you may feel may quench your thirst but in reality increases your craving. Practicing mindfulness can help you deviate from this course of being trapped in the Tantalus curse. I am 100 percent positive of this because I have experienced loneliness and the healing effect of such a lifestyle. It will also help you to focus on your day to day activities without fretting or stressing about loneliness or anything else.

If you want a starting point in Yoga and the yogic method of meditation I would recommend the book Wheels of life by Anodea Judith. It was the first book on yoga which I encountered was not highly esoteric and explained things in a simple manner.

Thank me later :)

I love this book for understanding the physical practice

For the ethical/discipline base of yoga, this is a short, easy, and really helpful read. Non-harming, non-clinging, etc.

For the pure philosophy, I'm a fan of this book on Tantra(where yoga came from). It's overwhelming the first time through, but there is so much powerful knowledge locked up in here

This is a great book on mindfullness with some applicable meditation techniques framed for the modern day, but it's all based on ancient teachings

Also, the Chakra system is fascinating and Anodea Judith offers some guided meditations. This book is really helpful and accessible

And, diet. This book helped me shift my diet in a way that's been extremely helpful

These have been some of the most influential books in my practice. Hope they help!

I would say you should begin with some research, just so you have a framework for understanding what you are going through. A good book on the topic would be Wheels of Life.

Meditation is basically the only way to develop this kind of ability (and others like it). Begin your meditation practice, and you'll be beginning a lifelong journey of psycho-spiritual development! Have fun!

Some yoga poses have chakra balancing properties. Working with those in a targeted way, and preceding your meditation with asanas, could help.

This is the book I read when I first started exploring the chakras in connection to my yoga practice: https://smile.amazon.com/Wheels-Life-Chakra-System-Llewellyns/dp/0875423205/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1556553116&sr=8-11

But as others have said, I might take the notion that all of yours are blocked with a grain of salt, and do some self-exploration to see if that really rings true.

Wheels of Life by Anodea Judith Is a very interesting, and well written book about Chakra meditation. Worth checking out
