I usually just go with something like this - it takes a while to go through that, unless you're building an absolutely unreasonable number of decks or kitting out multiple cubes or something.

The deckbuilder toolkit and the bundle, formerly known as the fat pack, contain a package of basic lands. I would not buy either just for the land pack.
The cheapest way is to find someone who already has too many basic lands. Your local game store (LGS) and veteran MTG players typically fall into this category. Just reach out and ask them if they have any basic lands. When I got into MTG last year, I picked up some basics from my LGS for free.

Depends. I've seen $0.00 to $0.05 cents for a basics. Amazon sells basic lands, as do other game stores like TCG Player and Channel Fireball.
