This insistence that only crazy people can be violent mass murderers is dangerous to both "normal" people and people with psychological disorders. Under the right circumstances, perfectly ordinary people can and will commit horrifying atrocities. People are only deluding themselves to imagine otherwise, to pretend that evil is something foreign and other, something you are incapable of doing. Understand what can shape normal people into monsters, so that you can actually do something positive about it.
From the perspective of someone with a psychological disorder, please knock off the armchair psychology. You can't actually make a diagnosis based on a couple articles on the internet, and there's no such thing as generic violent crazy. Actual people who have actual disorders have to live with the wild speculation and stigma, and it makes everything worse.
Please stop. Thanks.
Take your pick. Start with the smallest group and move out. For the record, I'm not actually advocating anything, just pointing out that prior to a couple centuries ago the end of a war was usually a genocide. Check out "Why Not Kill Them All?" by Daniel Chirot if you're interested.
