OMG!!!!!

There's a huge myth in the USA that good dart equipment has to cost a lot. It's what all the stores and dart shops want the customer to believe. Let me give you a few quick examples to help you better understand.

Here's one of the best dartboards on the market today. On sale for $64.

Because of how heavy a board is we're forced to buy them here in the states. Otherwise I'd steer you towards UK dart shops for everything else. You're new to this but if you want to know "why" then have a read of this short article written by a member here.

To give you a visual example check this out... Target darts released a bunch of new darts yesterday. Here are the actual darts that 16x world champion Phil Taylor uses. The darts are $158 from a popular American dart shop. Here are the same exact darts available from a UK dart shop. As you see, $83 and that before an 8% discount. So $77 actually. HALF the price!

Here one more example. Here's a "house brand" soft tip dart from a popular American shop. $84 right?

This is the SAME EXACT dart available at a popular UK dart shop for $16.67!! 5x less!!! Imagine paying $84 + local tax for a set of darts and then finding out they really cost less than $17. I'd be pissed.

The UK daart shops also have 100's of incredible 90-95% tungsten darts for around $20-$30. They have incredible 95% tungsten darts in the clearance section for as low as $14. So before you buy anything at all make sure you come here and ask us anything. I'm American by the way. I'm as pro America as anyone else but until these US dart shops stop trying to deceive the customers they can go pound sand. I'll send my money elsewhere.

My buddy and I were also experiencing the same problem. Ended up getting a blade 5 and viper surround from Amazon. I can't recommend them enough.

However, if you don't have the means (or patience) to save money and wait to get a board, I almost bought one of these:
Use the force

The only downside, is the color scheme isn't traditional.
But from what i've heard...they are pretty decent.

Another option is the Viper boards on Amazon Meh!

Although...if you are going to spend $35...you might as well spend $60 and not have to replace for a while longer.

Hi folks -

u/chuckdeezoo beat me to this question for the day... and instead of creating a new post, I'll just piggyback... or perhaps Robin hood onto his topic. ;-)

So the question I have and perhaps, this might help u/chuckdeezoo also...

What's the better way to go for Winmau boards? The standard Blade 5 or the Dual Core Blade 5?

Winmau Blade 5 is on sale for $65 (US)

The Winmau Blade 5 Dual Core is $89 (US)

Any thoughts on the difference?

Thanks!!

Looks great!

I highly recommend upgrading to a Blade 5 (or v4) dartboard though. I can see that the spider (metal wires that divide the board into segments (for anyone not familiar) is starting to lift up around the bullseye. This leads to more bounce outs. Once you go with a Blade, it's tough to go back to a the older style boards.
