I love this controller. Makes my phone feel like a switch. Haven't noticed any input lag and it works great for ps1 games as well as NES and GBA.

Solidly built, very responsive and nice clickable buttons and triggers, and you can also click in the sticks.

It stretches to fit your phone (just check your phone length I think it needs to be under 6in). Won't fit in jeans pockets but it'll fit in cargo shorts or a hoodie. I keep it in my backpack and use it on the train

Been wanting to get one of these kind of controllers for my phone but 40+ bucks is a little much for me.

I've been doing the same thing! This is the controller I've been using it works so flawlessly it's kind of criminal I was able to get the 'Switch' experience for less than $40...

I use Moonlight over 4g and mainly use steam-link when at home, because I could never get steam-link over 4g to work properly even after forwarding the ports but both work pretty much equally well.

> Without carrying a controller around, which I certainly don’t do, full fledged pc games will have terrible controls on a mobile device.

Seems okayish to carry around, i wish they were connected via usb but oh well compromises.

But yeah biggest problem is UI and also that pc games arent gameplay optimized for short sessions.

I'm thinking one of those clips that telescopes out and holds your phone horizontally and looks like a psp would be ideal

Something like this would allow you to hold the phone one handed while using a stylus with the right hand. The real trick is finding a controller that isn't total garbàge

There's actually some pretty good telescoping BT controllers for mobile. I have this one and it makes my phone feel a lot like a PSP.

I've heard good things about this controller https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B077L8656T/

It's very similar to the Wee controller which I have and really love for emulation and also native Android games. (Platformers and top down games). I eventually had a fault with my controller after much use but it sounds like the daqi might be put together a little better. Also FYI I have a 5.5" screen phone and it holds it horizontal or vertical.

I have heard the controller is sub par but much better than on screen controls. For just a little more you could get a last gen flag ship android phone, controller and huge SD card that would blow the gpd xd out of the water. If you wanted to spend another hundred you could get a s8/s8plus with this awesome no battery or blutooth needed telescopic controller https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B077GK42QN/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1525976357&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=s8%2Bcontroller&th=1&psc=1#nav-search-keywords

I'm getting this one in the mail tomorrow. The only reason I didn't get the one from above is because it's only a part time entertainment phone. I need to be able to take it off and not need to worrie about putting my case back on.

I actually just got that one in your post OP:

I actually really like it. Haven't used it a lot yet, but it feels pretty good in my hands. Fits my Note 8 pretty well. Feels like my old PSP.

I've noticed a fairly large amount ot input-lag though...not sure if it's a controller issue or a general Bluetooth issue.

I highly recommend the Daqi M100 for phone gaming. It's far more weight balanced due to the center positioning, fits almost everything, and the buttons and sticks are about on par with the PS Vita:

You described an Nvidia shield. Which is the exact same SoC. Or any of dozens of alternative options that meet your requirements. There have been for years.

The cell phone in your pocket literally does this. There are controller mounting accessories. You can literally use any controller you want via Bluetooth or USB. There's an $8 controller mount on Amazon. There are side mounted wireless controllers of every style and variation; https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Controller-Retractable-Telescopic-Joystick/dp/B077L8656T

https://www.ebay.com/i/372653044435

There are dozens of those. All without broken controller drift issues. And of you really wanted to, you can use the switch controllers on any Android device already.

Nearly every modern phone has HDMI out. In fact I don't know a single androis phone released in the last 3 years that doesn't have one.

And a longer battery. And high end phones absolutely decimate the switch hardware. And higher resolution screens.

I have no idea how someone can pretend to sound so technically savvy, but know next to nothing about anything they're saying.

It is not a life changer for the emulation scene. Android is already a targeted platform and has been for years.

Absolute fucking nutter. Look at the effort you put into being completely uninformed. Mind boggling.

Even a quick Google reveals mainstream articles showcasing the same concept; https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gizmodo.com.au/2017/05/how-to-turn-your-smartphone-into-an-almost-nintendo-switch/amp

You can already do everything you want to do. And all it would have taken was five minutes of effort.
