I'm personally in the market for the same kinds of boots. It depends on what kind of "versatile" you want. If it's chinos-->trousers-->suit, sure. But if you end up wearing jeans fairly often, I might go a little more casual. Not only will those look a bit out-of-place, but they'll require more upkeep, and you'll probably spend more time worrying about spilling things on them than you would with a more casual option.

It also depends on what sort of weather. I wouldn't wear these on a regular basis in the snow/rain. They're rubber soles, which means they would have good traction...but I would be constantly guarding/restoring them cosmetically, as a result of the elements.
