Have you heard about the book, [The Woman Code] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/006213079X/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1483113913&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=woman+code+book&dpPl=1&dpID=41NxwNYjNgL&ref=plSrch) by Alisa Vitti? She is also a PCOS sufferer and her book is about how our diets affect our hormones which can stall weight loss. The diet is quite restrictive (no dairy, no gluten, no coffee (what???)) but she also provides ways to recover when you go off.

Hi! I used to feel the same way, even being on birth control, and it wasn’t until I discovered the “WomanCode” protocol from Alisa Vitti that I was able to cure myself naturally. The birth control pills modified my hormones which I didn’t like and those have side effects too. I highly recommend Alisa’s book ! She also has some courses on her website too, but I mostly go with her recommendations in the book and it works for me.

Hope it helps.

The real question to ask yourself is why is your lining so thick? Why are you only bleeding every 90 days? What’s causing your hormones to be like this?

It’s because you’re hormones are out of whack, which you know. But why wouldn’t you want to fix your hormones before you get pregnant?

You probably need to lower your testosterone and estrogen and increase your progesterone.

Heavy periods/clots like that are a sign of estrogen dominance. (Woman Code by Alisa Vitti. Alisa had PCOS, fixed her hormones and had a baby girl at 37. I think she got pregnant on her third cycle trying without drugs after being told she was infertile. This book is based on what she’s used with her hundreds of clients that has fixed their hormones and gotten them pregnant.)

Babies exploded to excess testosterone in the womb correlates to autism.

It seems like you’ve already made up your mind about a naturopath, based on your replies in the comments.

I’ve had mediocre results with three naturopaths and amazing results with one naturopath who specializes in anti aging.

But I’ve had the most success with a functional medicine doctor. They tend to use a mix of Western diagnostics and testing and then choose the best out of pharmaceuticals and supplements to treat.

For example: Metformin damages mitochondria and the damage is thought to be irreversible. You can also take Berberine and it’s been shown to have similar results without the side effects.

Humans have the most mitochondria in the prefrontal cortex except for some ovarian cells which have 10x as much mitochondria.

Babies only get mitochondria from their mothers. Its worth paying attention to.

I’m taking Berberine, but a few lab cycles ago my morning glucose was still higher than I want it, but I don’t know why. I’m eating low carb. My numbers look good before bed. Doesn’t explain the dawn effect, or why my liver is kicking out glucose in the morning. So my FMP has me rearrange my Berberine dose so that instead of 500mg 3x daily, I take 1000mg at night and 500mg in the morning.

My next lab work saw a 15 point drop in fasting glucose. Nothing else different. Also dropped my A1c.

I’m not diabetic, but I also have no intention of getting there.

It’s those kinds of things a FMP can help you with.

I also take DIM and calcium g-glucarate to help clear excess estrogen...not just for regular periods. My mother died of breast cancer at 44. I’m not going to mess around on either count.

Get a second opinion, but get it from someone good.

I'm not outright recommending it because I found it to be too self promotional and not ideal, but I got WomanCode a few years ago to learn more about the endocrine system and female hormonal health. The book touches on irregularities of the cycle, PCOS, depression and approaches them from a nutritional/lifestyle perspective.

This said, I would love a recommendation of better books on the subject. I think every woman should be aware of her endocrine system and endocrine disruptors.

Hi there I really liked the combo of reading the Period Repair Manual (to understand medicine/ diet/ factors p.s. this is my favorite one) and Woman Code (for diet and lifestyle) and taking and Taking Charge of Your Fertility (to understand how your hormones work and what you can notice about hormone and body relationships) . I feel like all three give you a really good complete health picture. Im not "fixed" yet but I feel like it has been a great work in progress.

I was vegetarian for 4 years and decided to eat meat again. I have seen my health improve from my changes. I do not recommend a diet that makes you miserable. I think eating butter (butter is more of a fat than dairy product) helps keep me sane after being more stict with sugar. I do not eat processed sugar and dairy except maybe 1-3 times a month ( i quit four years ago for my acne) I also quit meat since I thought it caused acne but after reintroducing it I have found that to not be true.

cutting processed sugar out was really hard, but not impossible ( and i still enjoy in moderation :)

Are you able to see a nutritionist or dietician maybe to help you?

It's actually proven to be tired in the days after you ovulate to your period! Lowest energy levels immediately before your period. Then, they rise at the end of your period.

Read the Woman Code if you're interested. Changed my perspective on women's health and birth control. I recommend it to every single female friend I have.. I think everyone needs to read it
