I found this model for $12 on Amazon thinking of just picking it up. Here a pic of the old element. I also found an element and thermostat kit for under $20 I might go that route and just replace them both. I'm sort of opposed to getting a multimeter on principle that I have a fairly good model back at my home in FL.
