I buy these little pods that turn into hand towels when wet. They're the best for the outdoors or anywhere where you need a towel to wipe your hands or clean something.

I also buy Sensodyne with novamin which you can only buy from Europe. Novamin isn't allowed in the US without paying for a $pecial procedure from your dentist so this is one of the best over-the-counter ways to treat/repair sensitive teeth.

These are a great alternative to the wetwipes. They're dry so they're lighter and also scent free which is a plus for hunting.

This is a great idea! Other suggestions for items are small rolls of toilet paper, those pods that fold out to washcloths when they get wet, and packets of hand wipes. :)

They are scotch mint-sized and expand once they're moistened, plus they're biodegradable, which is sweet. You could still bring some oil with you hiking if you want, and use the wipes to clean it off. I always boil some water to use with the wipes and I can use one wipe to clean my face, and then reuse to wipe down my sweaty bits from hiking all day long. Because they pack so small, they're honestly the best thing and keep me from feeling disgusting the whole time. My partner likes them too - we always had a little cleaning session at the end of the day and it made crawling into our sleeping bags so much nicer. We used these hiking the East Coast Trail in Newfoundland for a week and it was the bomb. Even though my hair dried into a single giant dreadlock, I felt better knowing that I was mostly clean on the rest of my body. Check 'em out!! But don't forget a small bottle of hand sani to get your hands clean before starting on your bedtime routine. My hands are always grimy from hiking, as probably happens with you too.

Also, I wouldn't be worried about moisturizing while hiking. It's recommended not to use moisturizer while hiking anyway as the smell attracts bears and bugs, and, depending on the weather, can increase the likelihood of frost bite. Plus, you'll sweat it all off within minutes anyways so it just adds unnecessary weight to your pack. Simplify and take only what is necessary!

These are what I use. They are amazingly light and compact. Just add water and they can be used for all sorts of wiping. I carry a small tube of S2S soap to add so I can wash/scrub my hands. Hand sanitizer is NOT enough.

You need some toilet paper tablets for just such an emergency.

Bag/quilt - I started on march 17 with a 20 deg quilt and tarptent. It was fine, although I did have a few kinda cold nights. It took me a while to figure out how to deal with rolling over in the quilt without getting gaps, but being in a hammock may alleviate that for you. I also kept the 20 deg with me the whole trail - so it seems reasonable. Then again - two weeks earlier may be significantly colder.

You could bring an extra roll or accordion pad (just to add some additional R-value) and a lightweight blanket in addition to that setup and ditch them when it warms up.

For the pack - also consider the flextrek.

Layers - I had a really annoying time with my layers, since you typically wear them under other things - so when I'd heat up and take them off, I'd have to strip down. My advice here is basically that you only need a system that works for you. It'll be close to the temps in March soon as we head into fall/winter, so go do a shakedown hike with those options and see how you feel / if you sweat hiking in them.

Bronners - I started with this but found it was generally a pain in my ass that I didn't really need? You get your hands all soapy then you've got to pour water from your bottle with two soapy hands? Meh.

Diva cup - Not a lady, but the advice I hear is to practice with it before hand.

All in all - what you have looks great honestly. Do some shakedowns with stuff before it gets too cold - that's honestly going to be the thing that helps you zero in on what you're happy with.

Also - don't freak out too hard on the choices, you'll have PLENTY of opportunities to change gear. Neals gap followed by just about all the towns you'll hit until damascus have pretty well supplied outfitters who would love to sell you different gear.
