Reddit reviews X-Men First Class - Volume 1

1. What you want is X-Men: Season One and X-Men: First Class. That's the good stuff. There are a lot of origin retellings out there, because people like to buy origin stories, but Season One and First Class are the best ones about the original team.
   
   
2. What you have there is a collection of a four issue miniseries about Psylocke. It's expensive because it's out of print at the moment, unfortunately. 3. Second Coming, House of M, and Messiah Complex are all good stuff, but you'd want to read them in order. House of M happens first, then Messiah Complex, followed by Second Coming.
   
   
4. Magik shows up a bit in All-New X-Men after the Battle of the Atom arc, but she does not become a regular castmember. If you want some good Magik content though, check out the New Mutants series by Zeb Wells. Also, here is a helpful Magik reading guide I made!
   
   
5. Spider-Gwen vol. 0 happens before vol. 1. That's all you really need to know. There is a more complicated explanation, but it's not important.
   
   
6. Both Batgirls are in fact the same universe and the same series. What happened was that at one point, they changed the writer and artist on the series, and the new team redesigned Batgirl's costume and changed the tone of the series to be a bit more fun. There are only two volumes for the new team so far, but there will be more.
   
   
7. Look up Black Widow by Nathan Edmondson, Wonder Woman by Brian Azzarello, and Red Sonja by Gail Simone.

not really familiar with season one (just did a quick google search), have you tried X-men first class? it seems to fit the same catergory
