hey you dont need a kinect but its awesome.

here is the xbox italian guy on roof edition.

its 350 but doesn't have a kinect and comes with 2 assassins creed games.

there is no bioshock (the underwater game yet out on xbox.) try castle of wolfenstein he might like that.

batman isnt out till june.

if he likes red dead redemption (cowboy assassin) get him grand theft auto five.

what other games does he like maybe i can point you in the right direction? does he like racing if so pick up forza horizon 2. its amazing.

does he have friends already with xboxes?

edit 1

too play with friends online he will need xbox live gold subscription. but he prolly already has one on 360. Dragon age inquisition is the best rpg, but there is a free one called neverwinter releasing at the end of the month.

edit 2

shawdow of mordor is also like assassin creed but it is Lord of the rings. so if he like lords of the rings pick this up its very good.

edit 3

take the xbox out and install all the updates for him, that way he can play it right away. depending on the speed of your internet it can take a day to install a digital game, like the assassins creed that comes with the bundle. come back here and I will walk you through it.

I guess this might be news to some people, but this is the same price you get at literally any large retailer that sells this bundle.

Gamestop

Amazon

Walmart

Target

Every store advertises it as a $50 savings, but the bundle has been sold for $350 since the day it was introduced last november.

PCG: Mac is the best gaming PC

"If you tweak the settings you could maybe possibly probably get 20-30fps"

For $465, 35% more expensive than an xbox which actually gets 30fps.

I haven't watched the documentary yet, but I was already hyped up enough to buy an Xbox One just for the MCC. Amazon has a bundle for $349 that comes with Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and Unity (digital pre-order). If you get an Amazon Store Card, they'll also give you a $40 gift card. I ended up getting the console, the two AC games, and the MCC for $375. Helluva deal, in my opinion (if you like AC, too).

I watch TV through my xbox and absolutely love voice commands to change channels and turn everything on and off. If that sounds like something he'd want, then get Kinect. If not, there are only a few games that require Kinect and they are pretty obvious. The Kinect/Assassin's Creed Bundle is $489 on Amazon, the Assassin's Creed Bundle without Kinect is $347

Assassin's Creed Unity bundle

Great Idea.. this is still $349. The only one I remember being cheaper than this bundle was the black friday deal from the Microsoft Store for $329 (with 3 games).

u/dr_taber · 3 pointsr/xbox360

This is an Xbox 360 and this is an Xbox One. The Xbox One is the newer console and what I would recommend.

The amazon link for the Xbox One shows two bundles: one with the Kinect device and a cheaper version without. If your budget affords, I would go ahead and spring for the one with the Kinect. It's a little bit of a better value.

u/spiralings · 3 pointsr/Games

just happened to run into this on amazon.

this is a great move on MS part, essentially 50$ off the system plus two free games.

I hope Sony has something up their sleeves to compete with this, because I have a few friends looking to get ps4.

release date: November 2nd.

You bought it about a week late

u/GluteusMaximusBlack · 2 pointsr/gaming

I just got mine for $349 and I looked for weeks trying to find the best deal. I got mine on Amazon and it was the Assassin's Creed bundle and it came with an extra controller. They also have the Halo Master Chief bundle for the same price, $349. The extra controller is worth $50 so you're really paying $300. Not to mention both the games retail for roughly $60 so if you take that into account you're only paying $240. So that's my advice.

I just looked on Amazon for you and apparently they are only $343 now so even cheaper. I'd go with it, here is the link.

u/Licklt · 2 pointsr/GameDeals

There is also an Assassin's Creed Unity bundle for the same price.

Hadn't seen it when I put the Madden deal up and it'd probably get more attention. My bad.

Edit: The Unity deal also comes with Black Flag. Both consoles are without the Kinect and have 500GB of memory.

Second Edit: Here's the Unity bundle from Amazon if you'd rather get it from there.

It's in stock...

Edit: My bad, didn't see you say the one with the live card. The one with the kinect and kinectless are still in stock though

I think I'm going to get the Assassins Creed bundle that is going to come out next week. Xbox One, Assassins Creed IV, Assassins Creed Unity for $350.

u/Raggou · 2 pointsr/hardwareswap

Right around $300 Because i could currently get this bundle for $350

Edit: I actually just went ahead and grabbed this bundle, thanks everyone

u/SuperMark12345 · 1 pointr/blackfriday

Is this a doorbuster deal or can I order it online on black friday? I was contemplating just buying it now at $329.99 and just skipping the hassle to get the $50 gift card. Amazon is offering 20% off a year's worth of xbox live when bundled with the AC bundle:

Extra $200? The Sunset Overdrive bundle is the same price as a standard Xbox One ($350). The only difference is that it comes with Sunset Overdrive for free, and it's white.

Bundles I'd recommend: Halo MCC Bundle, Assassin's Creed Unity/Black Flag Bundle (with kinect), Advanced Warfare Bundle (1tb hard drive), and Sunset Overdrive Bundle.

Edit: It seems like the price of the Sunset Overdrive bundle and the Advanced Warfare bundle went up significantly because of low stock on Amazon. They are normally $350 and $450 respectively. If you want either of these bundles, I recommend looking at sellers other than Amazon until they replenish their stock.

I will try to keep this post as non biased as I can. Sorry if it appears to be unorganized. Wall of text warning

I agree with what most said in this post that you should find the games you like the most and buy the system that supports them. Xbox One is not backwards compatible with 360 games.

I have both systems and I enjoy them quite a bit. I recently bought my One before Christmas, when it was $350 + tax. I got my console without the Kinect as it was cheaper. It even came with download codes for Assassin's Creed Unity and Black Flag, and a 500 GB hard drive. The same setup is running for $387 on Amazon.

If you are a big Call of Duty player, this setup on Amazon may interest you. It comes with the Xbox 360 E console, 500 GB hard drive, download codes for COD Ghosts and BO2, and a free month of Xbox live gold. It is running for $237.

With both systems, if you have a relatively up to date tablet or phone running iOs, Android, or Windows, you can download SmartGlass. There are two SmartGlass apps specific to the console you buy. SmartGlass allows you to perform some Xbox controls through the phone or tablet, and you can use it to send messages to your XBL friends when you are away from your console, provided you have a data connection. SmartGlass also makes typing messages while playing games so much easier.

With Xbox One, you have the ability to snap. Snap allows the ability to do two things at once. The game will be on the left and take up about 85% of the screen. The right side can be a different function, such as messages, achievements, and even using Internet explorer (I will add that unless you have a larger screen TV, Snap may not be the best). I use my snap so I can listen to Pandora while playing games. The best illustration of Snap would be this commercial featuring Aaron Paul (though you would need the Kinect for what he does.) Snap also runs through SmartGlass.

Whichever console you get, it is best to have an Internet connection, though this may not be an issue. Xbox 360 is very offline friendly, while Xbox One is not very offline friendly.

Gold membership is almost an essential. You don't need it necessarily if all you do is Netflix and other streaming sites, but you do need it to play online multiplayer. With Gold membership though, you do get 2 free games each month for either console. You also get special discounts on certain games. You don't need to pay full price for gold membership as membership codes can be found at various online outlets for much cheaper.

Xbox One does have home gold. With home gold, one gold member can provide gold benefits to other players on the console. I have a friend with a silver membership, which means he can not play online multiplayer on the Xbox 360. I allowed him to save his profile to my console. Since I have my profile on there as well, he is allowed online despite only being a silver member. Basically to simplify it, One gold member can allow several silver members to play online, as long as all profiles are saved to the same Xbox One console. Xbox 360 does not provide home gold. More info here.

Xbox 360 is going to continue to be supported for the next several years. I believe I read that Xbox 360 will continue to receive updates from Microsoft for the next 5 years. However, like the original Xbox, there will come a date when Live access is removed permanently for Xbox 360 consoles. As of April 2010, Xbox original consoles can no longer access Xbox live. Most likely, the Xbox 360 will receive the same fate in the future. Trust me though, Microsoft will announce this several times, so you will get a good amount of warning.

Right now, the best advice I can give is to find the games you enjoy the most and buy the console that will support them best.

Bonus note: If you have ever played Grand Theft Auto V on the Xbox 360 or PS3, Rockstar completely remastered it for the Xbox One. They added first person view, some new cars, better traffic spawning, and new songs to the radio stations. All of those features add so much to the experience. First person driving is awesome, as the cars have some working gauges, and the new songs on the radio helps to prevent the same songs from cycling over and over again.

The URL listed is the Best Buy Deal of the Day page. No referral codes are contained as far as I know, the site just has a strange URL layout. The games are found below the Xbox One: AS Unity Bundle and AS: Black Flag listings. If you're interested in the Xbox One bundle, it's better to get it at Amazon or check if other retailers have similar deals. Amazon has it at $349.00 ($0.99 cheaper) at the moment and also offers a $50 bonus credit that's emailed 2 days after the order ships. Killzone: Shadow Fall is $20.86 on Amazon but if you have Prime it might be a better deal. AS Unity Bundle link with EFF tag:

I recommend a One, and also check out this link:

I just bought this same bundle (kinectless) the other day, but before Christmas it was $70 amazon credit instead of $50

So you'd essentially be getting a Xbox One, headset, controller, 2 Assassin Creed games, and $50 to spend on Amazon, which essentially makes it $299.

Several of my friends will be upgrading to a One from a 360, which is what sealed the deal for me. Regardless, good luck in your choice.

u/qxzv · 0 pointsr/wiiu

>Its $50, except the base version of the Wii U includes a game, so its more than that.

Xbox One is $350 with 2 games from Amazon. And from Newegg. And from Best Buy. And pretty much every other store too.

>Xbox live might be alright if you ignore problems with key titles like the Halo MCC, but PSN is far less reliable than Nintendo's online services.

There's a difference between problems with titles and problems with the platform as a whole. MCC is broken for sure, but Xbox Live and to a lesser extent PSN work great even if they experience downtime here and there. You can do things like chat, play games with friends, invite players to join with you, etc. Nintendo's Network is technically functional, but is missing even basic features. Like I said, it's still behind the original Xbox.

>If you include a PS+ or XBL membership for the, lets say 6 years, that you'll have the console then that's a massive price difference.

Agreed. I wish those services were free, but you do get PS+ /GWG games to go with the multiplayer service. There are also many games there that can be played online. There's really only a handful on Wii U, and that number won't be growing this year.

>You're only paying for online on your Xbone

What makes you think I have an Xbone? I don't. I do have a Wii U though.

>Online works fine in everything I've used on Wii U except Smash. MK8 works flawlessly.

Can you talk to people in MK8? If you want to play with 3 friends is there a mechanism in place for you to invite those friends into a session where the 4 of you constantly stick together and can come or go from any series of races? This is what I would call basic functionality.

>What's the point in arguing that the Wii U isn't cheaper?

I didn't say it wasn't cheaper - I actually said upfront it was $50 cheaper. You said it was "the cheapest current gen console by far." This is a huge exaggeration.
