Where the fuck do I preorder this $300 4k bluray player?

EDIT: Here is the $299 One. GO GO GO. You don't have to pay until release, so might as well.

u/Carmany · 54 pointsr/ExpectationVsReality

I will tell you why people think that, it is because it is true. For example, right off their website Microsoft Xbox One S 500GB- Halo Bundle, this can be yours for 65 weekly payments of 19.99 for a grand total of $1,299. Or you can buy the thing from Amazon for $300.

u/-CdG-Luck · 40 pointsr/Gamingcirclejerk

If you're going to jerk about consoles, at least get your fucking information right.

Consoles are NOT $400 anymore. At most, $350 for a new one. PS4 $349 [Xbox One S $299](

5 games will cost $300 if you don't have GCU or Amazon Prime and buy new releases, shit. I could pre-order 5 games now on Amazon and it'll be less than $250.

What the fuck kind of accessories are you buying that'll equal $100 - 200? I bought a fucking stand and another controller and a usb extension cable. Under $100. Double digits motherfucker.

Yep. Uh huh. 1 year is totally $150.

I was planning on grabbing a 4K tv and a ps4+ (that's what I was calling it in my head) in around 6 months to a year; I have already been buying UHD movies since they come with copies of the regular blurays right now, to smooth over the transition. So, it IS a huge bummer to me that there is no UHD drive.

I won't be giving up on my PS4 by any means, but it strongly incentivizes me to wait to see how powerful the Scorpio is, and make my decision then. I understand it could have been to lower costs, but right now the Xbox 1s has a UHD player, and is cheaper than standalone 4K bluray players.

EDIT: I also want to add that I live in the country, and my internet speeds are not high or reliable enough to count 4K streaming as a possibility.

No retconning.

The composition of the teams has changed a bit as most of the Spartans died in the novels and such, but Fred, Kelly, and Linda (current Blue Team with Chief) all survived the Covenant War and reunited with Chief in a post-Halo 4 comic without any timeline issues / inconsistencies.

Red Team went into cryo-sleep at the end of Halo Wars (2009, Bungie) and woke up 28 years later (after the events of Halo 5) and were the main characters in Halo Wars 2.

And Grey Team kind of vanished after the events of one of the novels... I forget which, and no one knew what happened to them until Halo: Envoy released earlier this year.

To make you nostalgic...

...and tempt you further.

This is essentially what I did. I'm a PC gamer and bought an Xbox specifically for MCC and Halo 5. I haven't regretted it at all, as both games have given me countless hours of fun.

While Halo 5's campaign is the worst in the series by a long shot, I'd say it's multiplayer package is the best in the series.

Here's a bundle for a Halo MCC/5 Xbox One S:

It's up to 10%. When someone clicks an affiliate link it dumps a cookie on their PC that tracks for 24 hours. EVERY purchase they make on Amazon in those 24 hours will give comission, up to 10%. It's not just specifically the item they clicked on.

That will track to someone. It could be you, could be someone else, but that's a tracking ID.

Here's the URL with no tracking: https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-One-500GB-Console-Collection-Bundle/dp/B01GW3GY3K/

id half ignore most of the comments saying "just get a pc" when they know full well a pc that can play the games better than the xbox will cost far more than the xbox. I personally would say wait a few days and theres supposed to be a Xbox one slim package with all 5 halos (the master cheif collection and halo 5, and with the MCC you can also buy ODST and have some fun on that). If you like halo thats your best starter right there.

Do you have a minimum of $300 and a 4K TV?

As everyone else said, new consoles are usually the way to go unless you know someone personally who’s willing to give you a great deal. Stores will overcharge for the used consoles and you never know what condition they will be in. Buying from separate sellers even more so. People like to sell their consoles for the same price as it costs for a new one and it’s always baffles me.

New XBOX Ones are pretty cheap now anyways. While they were cheaper during Black Friday, you can still get the S model here with all 5 Halo games for just $257 (with Prime shipping!): https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GW3GY3K/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?ie=UTF8&qid=1520810276&sr=8-13&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=xbox+one

I’m kind of procrastinating right now so if I run into any other good deals I’ll let you know.

> It does not matter to me which console I get, whether it be the original or the S. What should I do?

For $300 you can get a 500 GB S model with all 5 Halo's, which might factor into your price.

Original models are $250 new (With at least 1 game) AND an extra controller, so unless you're buying something from a friend who just doesn't want it any more (and you know it's been taken care of) I wouldn't touch a used or refurbed version at all and even at that I'd top out at $150 for it.
