I liked One by Caroline Kepnes. Definitely in the "stupid, sexy thriller" category but a fun read!

This book is all that I can think of!!! https://www.amazon.com/You-Novel-Caroline-Kepnes/dp/1476785600

I'm so sorry that this happened to you!

You by Caroline Kepnes might be what you're looking for. For We Are Many by Stuart Thaman is a more supernatural suspense thriller. Lastly, Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn is incredible.

If you want a really messed up experience, try this one:

YOU by Caroline Kepnes

>When a beautiful, aspiring writer strides into the East Village bookstore where Joe Goldberg works, he does what anyone would do: he Googles the name on her credit card.

>There is only one Guinevere Beck in New York City. She has a public Facebook account and Tweets incessantly, telling Joe everything he needs to know: she is simply Beck to her friends, she went to Brown University, she lives on Bank Street, and she’ll be at a bar in Brooklyn tonight—the perfect place for a “chance” meeting.

>As Joe invisibly and obsessively takes control of Beck’s life, he orchestrates a series of events to ensure Beck finds herself in his waiting arms. Moving from stalker to boyfriend, Joe transforms himself into Beck’s perfect man, all while quietly removing the obstacles that stand in their way—even if it means murder.

The entire thing is written in "real time" by Joe, as though he's writing it to Beck. I read it a few months ago and it's never quite left me. It goes to darker places than I expected.

It can definitely work. Caroline Kepnes's "You" is critically acclaimed, being made into a movie, and is written entirely in second person. Check it out, it might help as a reference: https://www.amazon.com/You-Novel-Caroline-Kepnes/dp/1476785600

You by Caroline Kepnes, it shows how accessible we make our lives online. BTW Stephen King called it 'original'
