The offset on the scissors keeps your hand out of the way of the plastic when cutting around the perimeter of the package.

It's a bit hard to explain, but it makes opening blister packs a breeze. I got mine from Home Depot and have bought more from Amazon.

I have a few things that I believe are advertised "As Seen On TV", but I've never bought anything directly from a commercial or anything like that.

  • Slap Chop (or Walmart equivalent). Not worth it IMO, much more of a pain to use and clean than just taking 2 minutes to chop an onion.
  • Doggy Stairs. Never seen this one on TV but it said so on the box. It was my wifes idea and it's actually incredibly helpful for our mini-dachshund getting in and out of bed.
  • Open It!. Not sure if this one is as seen on tv, but it looks like something you would see in an infomercial. Pretty much the best thing ever, though. Highly recommended. Edit: It is indeed As-Seen-On-TV.
  • Perfect Brownie Baking Pan. Don't use this one a whole lot but it was pretty nice when we did. Everything is nonstick, so unless you screw up your brownies its easy to use & clean.
  • Magic Bullet - Hate this thing. So loud, smells like burning, you have to use 5 second bursts or you'll burn out the motor, leaves residue on my counter, parts get sticky, doesnt grind ice well. You're better off with a regular ol' blender.
