If you want a game that require you to think I would suggest Portal 2. It has fun gameplay and is definitely the game with the best humor, that I've played.
Edit: As a lot of people also have commented. I don't own a PS3, but if it's possible you should also buy Portal 1.
The Xbox controller and my huge Friend List are the two features of that system that keep me coming back. I love the UI as well, but it's slow as hell since it wasn't originally designed for it.
That being said, if I can find a 360 style controller for the PS3/PS4 I'd really appreciate it. Anyone know where I can find one?
[EDIT] I found one here on Amazon for $13. Does anyone have any experience with this one?
Something like this?

boiiiii get a goddamn ps3. you won't regret it.
Exclusives:
Just get a PS3, man.
GET ONE OR I'LL SMACK YOU
While we're at it, Valkyria Chronicles is overlooked by new(er) PS3 owners as well.
Hi, I'm disabled as well (spastic CP) and while my disability isn't as severe as yours, I have had to deal with some of the same concerns you have over the course of my XIV career. While I can't provide advice pertaining to keyboard usage I might be able to point you in the direction of some alternative hardware setups that would make playing the game easier.
First I have a few questions about your particular case. Is your wrist movement limited to no flexion of the wrist, or can you also not flex your fingers? Can you "poke" with your left index finger AND your right index finger, or just the left? How are your thumbs: can you wiggle them back and forth at all?
Reason I'm asking is that if you can push a button with BOTH index fingers, and you can slightly move your thumbs, you can actually use a controller, with just those four fingers. You will have to tape it to your other fingers especially if you have no grip strength, or put it onto a surface. (If your problem is that you have no way to hold the controller and you need to rest it on a surface, look into getting the PC version of the game and an "aftermarket" gamepad such as the Logitech F310! or the Pro EX! With the PC version you can use drivers and input mappers to find the controller that works best for you, but if you can't hold it, I recommend the PRO EX--specifically because it has button style unexposed back triggers that are far less likely to fire if you have to rest it somewhere to use it.
Without modification, the back triggers are essential for playing XIV with a gamepad, and there is an option to make it so that your hotbars toggle, eliminating the need to hold them down to use your abilities. This option alone has made a night and day difference in my own ability to play the game. (Note: I used the PRO EX personally on the PS3 for several years, and it works on PC with an input mapper such as DS4Windows. I don't own a PS4 but it ought to work fine.)
You say you use a touchpad to click. Where is it located? What hand do you use for it? I have no experience with them, but you might benefit from something like a trackball, especially one with added buttons. Still, my own admittedly personal bias says that if you can find a way to make a gamepad work for you, it will open up the most amount of commands for your limited dexterity. Movement is also easiest on a gamepad because of the analog sticks, and it's crucial in higher end content just because of the sheer amount of AoE and mechanics, as others have said. Numlock/autorun might work but could get clumsy after a while--I say this as someone who's in your exact same boat as far as the left hand and the keyboard goes, and even with the mouse it was hard for me to WASD out of fire. I looked but can't find a click-to-move option, so there might not be one.
Classwise I would recommend starting with PLD for tank. Tanks in this game have the simplest rotations compared to DPS, and the slower combat speed means that you can focus more on holding threat and positioning the boss in leveling content. Until raid level fights, they also generally have the least amount of mechanics to react to. I main a tank for this reason.
If you want to play a DPS I suggest either of the current casters (BLM or SMN) depending on if you like being relatively immobile with long cast times, or WoW lock style DoTs, respectively.
I also would like to ask what kinds of specific problems/hurdles you are running into with the game--what kinds of functions are most difficult right now? There might be a way to streamline them via game options.
Ordinarily I would offer more class advice, but since everything is changing in three weeks I would suggest you to continue getting acquainted with the systems and try out different hardware systems, if possible.

Whew! I swear I am not a shill for Amazon. I just appreciate a good deal when I see it.
it's like $18 on amazon.
You can buy Dark Souls for PS3 for 12 bucks (counting shipping) on amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B004NRN5EO/ref=sr_1_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1369597302&sr=8-1&keywords=dark+souls&condition=used
Probably discounted due to the upcoming release (late-2019 for Japan, sometime in 2020 for everywhere else) of Persona 5: The Royal. Persona 5: The Royal will only be for PS4, though.
PS4 version hit 'Greatest Hits' pricing as well, but no discount - Amazon link for PlayStation 4 version.
EDIT: PS3 is currently back-ordered, so other third-party sellers are showing up. Make sure it says that the item says 'Ships from and sold by Amazon.com' -- hopefully this link works for simplicity (smid tag in the URL denotes the seller, in this case, Amazon).
Yeah, it's being released for PS3 and PS4. You can't get the steelbook or Take Your Heart edition for it, but you can still get the base game.
Valkyria Chronicles
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-EX-Controller-PS3-Playstation-3/dp/B003VWXV50
My money is these guys
$190.04 - PlayStation 3 500 GB System + $25.95 - The ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection
Correct adapter
Valkyria Chronicles is not only an amazing PS3 game, which the first in the series was brought over to the West, but the anime is quite good too and it even keeps the art style of the game.
It is quite cheap on Amazon right now.
EDIT: It got a 9/10 from IGN.
I'm not going to recommend multiplatform games as I'm unsure of whether or not you have a 360/Wii/etc.
A bit of a novel, but I hope you find this helpful, OP.
First, to comment on what happened on your call with Microsoft: maybe it's possible you just got one of the really bad reps? But then again, they got a supervisor involved and they still wouldn't just fix the situation for you? Especially seeing as you hadn't even used your subscription... that is pretty ridiculous. Well, I'm confident that you'll find the PlayStation experience an enjoyable one.
-----
Honestly, this is probably the best time to try out a PS3. We're closing out on this generation of consoles and some of the best games of the last few years have been PlayStation exclusives. Especially if you've been using an Xbox 360 this whole time, you're about ready to meet a whole new world of incredible titles.
Quick edit: Just wanted to clarify... I'm including links to Amazon just as an easy way for you to learn more about individual titles. But just as /u/undeadwolfy mentioned:
>You can buy most of these pre-owned at a decent price. Some are digital so they're not much cheaper but still great.
So first and foremost, I highly recommend anything by Naughty Dog -- they are arguably the best developer in the entire industry right now. They released four titles on the PS3: Uncharted 1, 2 & 3 (each game is a must-play), and the absolute masterpiece that is The Last of Us. You've probably heard plenty of praise for The Last of Us (and it is well deserved), but I would recommend saving the best for last. It's such an awesome game that, after completing it, nothing else I played interested me anymore. It took like a month to get back into the gaming groove, so I'd save that 'til after you beat the Uncharted trilogy. It's that good.
Aside from that, there are some other great titles I'd highly recommend. I don't know what kind of games you're into, so I'll just list all those that I've liked, personally:
Not to mention plenty of other great exclusives (Rachet & Clank series, Resistance trilogy, Valkyria Chronicles and more) and the tons of PS1 and PS2 games on the PlayStation Store for cheap, playable on your PS3 if you want to go old school. (Not to mention the many PS2 games being rereleased for PS3 in HD glory... I'd recommend Shadow of the Colossus, which happens to be free for PlayStation Plus members this month... hint hint.) Of course, all the multiplatform games are also here (Battlefield, Bioshock, Call of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, etc.).
That said, however, if you really want to jump in the game, PlayStation Plus is worth every penny -- a ton of free games each month (and we're talking major titles, in addition to a handful of indies), plus a large variety of other system-enhancing features and discounts. And if you're looking at getting a PS4, getting PS+ is a no-brainer. For one, it is required for online multiplayer on the PS4 (no such requirement on the PS3, but hey, they've got to make their money somehow). But what's awesome is that one PS+ account will work across both the PS3 & PS4, and enable you to get free games for each console for as long as you are a subscriber, with free games on the PS4 appearing on day one.
Welcome to the new age. Now cue up some Imagine Dragons and get ready for a freaking awesome experience. We're glad to have you.
I don't know which ones you haven't played, so I'm just going to list whichever ones come to mind.
Infamous collection
Tomb Raider
GTA IV Complete Edition
Assassins Creed 1
Assassins Creed: Ezio Trilogy
Far Cry 3
Skyrim
Hitman: Absolution
Uncharted 1 & 2 pack
Uncharted 3
ICO and Shadow of the Colossus Collection
Heavy Rain
Though there are probably many more that I'm forgetting.
Edit: Had to remove Assassins Creed 3 because the price went up to $34.77.
One game for the fall/winter? This should about do it.
>Is Portal 2 seriously going to be that expensive?
PC version will be $50, console version $60. (Those are the pre-order prices listed by retailers like Amazon, Gamestop, etc.) I'm sure that, as per usual, Valve will be offering a 10% discount to those who pre-order on Steam, and they might also offer a 4-pack (three copies for the price of four) like they did with the Left 4 Dead games.
>Has Valve ever made a game more than $30?
Half-Life 2 was $50 when it came out in 2004. Left 4 Dead was $50 when it was released in 2008, and Left 4 Dead 2 was $50 when it was released in 2009. Adjusted for inflation, Portal 2 is actually cheaper than Half-Life 2. ($50 in 2004 = $56.32 in 2010 according to the Consumer Price Index.)
Amazon is giving $5 off pre-order with release day delivery plus a whopping $20 credit.
I hate the PS3 controller because it causes my hands to cramp after an hour or so of playing. Personally i love the 360 controller, and i use it for playing on my PC. So i tried to buy a third party PS3 controller, and they all more or less are junk. Both me and my roomate spent around a month trying various controllers. Most of the third party PS3-360 controllers are junk, unfortunately.
http://www.amazon.com/computers-accessories/dp/B007SO06O6
Tried it, unfortunately it causes a rather noticeable and annoying input delay that would randomly happen. I remember playing Killzone 3 and there were times where my view would keep moving for a bit, after letting off the stick.
A similar problem occurred with Red Dead Redemption, where during the duels my targeting reticule would keep moving even after i let off the stick for less than half a second (it sounds like not much, but when you need some level of precision its extremely frusturating).
http://www.amazon.com/Turbo-BATTLE-Controller-Adapter-Playstation-3/dp/B006TSD9SM
Similar problems to the adapter above.
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-EX-Controller-PS3-Playstation-3/dp/B003VWXV50
A massive dead zone in the analog sticks along with a DPAD that was completely unresponsive.
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Elite-Wireless-Controller-Playstation-3/dp/B003V4AK8E
There is a massive dead zone in the analog sticks, and feels extremely cheap. The wireless also seems to drop out at random. However it is the only 3rd party PS3 controller with 360 layout that has SIXAXIS.
http://www.amazon.com/Afterglow-AP-1-Controller-PS3-Playstation-3/dp/B003IU01LC
Terrible, terrible controller. The analog sticks are so awful i just returned it right away.
http://www.amazon.com/POWER-FUS1ON-Tournament-Controller-PlayStation-3/dp/B0096KF7O4
I got to try this controller after it was lent to me by a friend. It worked worked really well, and i played through Killzone 2, and RDR without any issues. Unfortunately it is expensive and lacks SIXAXIS.
MadCatz also makes a MLG Controller for PS3, i tried it a couple of months ago. Overall i thought it was pretty great. But i have never seen it for sale in Canada.
Saitek also made a controller Cyborg V3 (that i can't find on amazon), that lets you flip the position of the analog sticks, but i can't find it anymore and they oddly seem to have completely switched to flight sim sticks.
Here you go, some great software company has you taken care of
> Here we have to pay anywhere between R$1000 and R$1500 to buy a new PS3 SLIM, wich amounts to something around US$350~500.
Actually, that turns out not to be the case. PS3s are expensive locally for me, too, but I imported mine and got a relatively good deal. Just for example, this PS3 is US$197 delivered - internationally - which is only R$630. That's just a random example for today - there are plenty of options, like this one for R$725 delivered, or sometimes there are good deals at Amazon.fr and Amazon.de (Edit: just to update, import fees are charged at checkout so you can see exactly what the total cost will be.)
The PS3 is broadly region-free and has a universal power supply - there's not really a good reason not to import. ;)
> After that, we still have to pay around R$50~R$450 for a game, depending on the game, wich amounts to US$16~150 (a new Record Of Agarest War 2, for example, goes for R$400, wich amounts to US$133).
Again, that's not true. Games are very expensive in my country, too - I haven't bought any games locally. I have mostly used PSN Canada, although I also got a good deal on Amazon.co.uk vouchers last year and got some credit for PSN UK. Sometimes codes for download games in the US are quite cheap, so I do have a PSN US account, too. The prices range from R$6-R$30 - just buy games when they're on sale, obviously! ;)
You can also get used discs delivered internationally - I've been taking advantage of the falls in the pound, for example, at Game.co.uk, where I got six games (the Resistances, Killzones and the first Singstar) for R$77 delivered, which is R$13 each. Just wait for their semi-regular Buy Two Get One Free promotion on used games.
So there's no need to arbitrarily limit yourself to local prices!
Source on prices: experience of importing games to a country where games and consoles are expensive!
Pick up one of these: http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Move-Sharp-Shooter-3/dp/B002I0K622 (or two, if you have a friend to play with and another move controller)
Get this PARTICULAR gun attachment, not one of the pistols. Easier reloading and much more comfortable. Trust me.
And a copy of this: http://www.amazon.com/House-Dead-OVERKILL-Extended-Cut-Playstation/dp/B0053B7ICO/ref=sr_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1408458137&sr=1-1&keywords=house+of+the+dead+overkill+ps3
Best use of the Move to date.
So how comfy is that rock you live under?
Have you even bothered to look on amazon??
Who needs a PS2 for it? Get the Sly Collection! Remastered in HD!
http://www.amazon.com/Sly-Collection-Playstation-3/dp/B003O680RM
Don't buy it used. Buy it new for $5 more and make sure From gets their cut instead of filling Gamestop's pockets.
You can get it off here brand new from Amazon for a buck more than gamestop.
> There is a newer version of this item
Or you know, you could compare the recent NA PS3 Slim instead of a random Japanese one
Yes.

On a budget, get the Retrotink 2x to upscale nicely and convert to HDMI. To plug those consoles into the Retrotink and get a good image:
For SNES and N64, you can solve together by getting this exact S-video cable as it’s commonly known for quality.
For PS2, get Sony’s official component cables or get HDRetrovision’s PS2 component cables found here .
I know OG Xbox component cables can be found from Microsoft, and I’ve read the cheap knockoffs are good.
I don’t know what you can do for Dreamcast.
Find a copy of the orange box and play portal and half life 2
You mean this?
Did you like X-COM from 2012? It plays a good bit like it, so if you enjoyed that style gameplay you'd like VC. It also has some visual novel-like parts that are pretty nice, and has a really good cel-shaded art style. It's a great game, especially since you can pick it up for very cheap.
Just bought this collection. I'm going to have a better week.
Tomb Raider is an amazing game if you haven't played that yet! The 970 can easily run at ultra settings and maintain 60 fps. The current lowest price I could find is Amazon for [$7.99]
Amazon! You can get both 1.5 and 2.5 and have them by Friday if you have Amazon Prime - I got my brother both for the Holidays.
I hope you don't actually walk into video game stores expecting to find anything that isn't Modern Battle of Gran Theft Halo: Black Warfare Ghosts 5.
You missed Valkyria Chronicles.
http://www.amazon.com/Valkyria-Chronicles-Playstation-3/dp/B0016C3260
Yeah and the best part is all these great series are being released as special collections now.
Now is a fantastic time to give the PS3 a try and snap up all the great games you missed the first time around.
For what it's worth, you can do one better on Amazon right now.
Buy the PS3 version for $54.99, receive $20 Amazon credit.
The PS3 version comes with a PC version, but you need a PS3 to "activate it."
http://www.amazon.com/Jak-Daxter-Collection-Playstation-3/dp/B006JKAS16
But... Amazon said it was the international edition when I preordered. I'm not yet giving up hope.
You can order it on Amazon too, which is likely where I will purchase mine.

That's composite, not component. Component cables have five RCA plugs (typically green, blue, and red for video, plus red and white for audio).
Yes, cheap unshielded composite cables often have a lot of audio buzz. Those cheap converter boxes are also garbage and it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was causing problems as well.
The best solution would be to get a high quality component cable such as HD Retrovision's and a good component-to-HDMI converter like the RetroTINK-2X (supports 240p and 480i only), OSSC (supports all of the PS2's video modes), or Framemeister (supports all modes and has a really good deinterlacer for 480i). Cheaper converters will probably work, but won't process 240p games correctly and may have input latency or other issues.
I'm gonna make your day because I own Sly Cooper Remaster for PS3!

For those that don't want the Bundle and prefer disc, Tomb Raider is on sale for the $20 on amazon. http://amzn.com/B004FS8LYK
I just read a number of reviews on Amazon that say the PS3 version becomes increasingly unstable and then unplayable. It has over 150 one-star reviews because of this. The 360 doesn't appear to have that issue, but you might want to check it on some other sites or reviews to be sure.

this which i feel bad for askin for so this if first is too expensive :)
Thanks for the contest!
If you like card based games and have a PS3, the new Kingdom Hearts collection has the remake of the GBA one, RE: Chain of Memories. It's certainly a departure from the series and if you've only played the others it can take a lot of getting used to, but it is a solid game. http://www.amazon.com/Kingdom-Hearts-1-5-Remix-Playstation-3/dp/B008SBZD5U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382408949&sr=8-1&keywords=kingdom+hearts+hd
Yup, might be kinda hard to find though, it was for me at least. Just did a quick search on amazon and its a little pricey but still worth it: http://www.amazon.com/Orange-Box-Playstation-3/dp/B000PE0HBI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1325369575&sr=8-1
just.
well...being a gamer, this is orange! not so delicious but still fun...
It's readily available in Amazon for pretty cheap.
$12 used. Hardly "rare".
That's what PS Move did. Worked great. Still have mine, wonder if I should try modding it and use it in Onward.
Like I said, I've been all about the light-gun games lately. They make up most of my Move games. I have Sports Champions (the one that came bundled) and The Fight, and then the rest of my games are light-gun games. I picked up a Sharpshooter and it really completed the experience. It's a high quality accessory, and it's much more entertaining to hold a replica gun than it is to point the Move controller at the screen. I was always a fan of arcade shooters, and this brings that feeling into your living room pretty well.
Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 are platform exclusive shooters with 3D support. I have played both, and both are worth their current non-release day price.
I have not played either of these games with the Playstation Move/Eye, Playstation Nav controller and/or the Playstation Sharpshooter. But you can. For a most un-desktop computer experience.
I'd look for games like Sly Cooper, Jak and Daxter, or Rachet and Clank.
There's a Sly Cooper Collection that has three games. There's also a Jak and Daxter Collection as well as a Rachet and Clank Collection. Each collection has three games, and they're running for about $15 each. These would keep them busy for a very long time. :)
> You must be somewhere other than America if the price is $55.
I dunno, Amazon wants $55.
what'd you pay for the system, and what kind?
first, before you buy anymore games, i strongly suggest you get a FREE amazon Prime subscription. don't know how? sign up at any community college, DO NOT register for classes, you are only doing this to get a ".edu" email address. use the .edu to register for an amazon prime account.
i'm not a fan of red dead redemption, though i loved red dead. also the mass effect series was one i had a hard time catching on to. rather than rank by number, i'll just put an asterisk next to my top choices.
If you're looking for one just to play a couple games and blu-rays, I'd get the super slim.
Quick Amazon search came up with: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B009DL2TBA/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1454137346&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40&keywords=ps3&dpPl=1&dpID=41pHW4%2BW0rL&ref=plSrch
They definitely still sell them new
You could still save a bit of money if you can cancel the ps3. Get the super slim (500 gb) for $220, then get gta v which should be $30 or so. That'll save you $50 you can use for games.

If you go to Glyde and are not afraid to wait a week or 2 you can get games often for $8-$12 or less...

Congrats on getting a ps3 and welcome to the PS family. It's a great great system. Oh - one more thing: if you can get a Playstation Plus subscription. 2 (sometimes more) free games each month, for $50 a year, less if you can find a deal.
Favorite ever? Final Fantasy X --- ONLY 5 MORE DAYS!
Nope
Here's a quote from the Amazon listing:
> Pre-order Final Fantasy X|X2 HD Remaster and receive a free upgrade to the Limited Edition with an art book, featuring 24 pages of concept art and commentary from the original FINAL FANTASY X and FINAL FANTASY X-2 development teams.
Personally, I hope a Steelbook case and soundtrack are included, but for now only the art book is confirmed.
Go to Best Buy and get yourself the Kindle Gift Cards (Amazon Gift cards). They are branded Kindle, but they are just strait Amazon money. You can use Best Buy cards/reward credit to buy them too.
Then just hop over to Amazon and buy it there. As of writing this they have PC Digital CE, and physical PS3 CE still.
This set of cables on Amazon might work well for you: https://www.amazon.com/Component-Premium-Resolution-PlayStation-Console-3/dp/B01B1BMH7A/ref=mp_s_a_1_7?keywords=ps2+component+cable&qid=1565651438&s=gateway&sprefix=PS2+&sr=8-7
i have a ps3
The PS3 version is not Japan-only. It released simultaneously with the PS4 version in Japan and abroad, but in the US was only sold by GameStop, Amazon, and a few specialty retailers.
>I hear it ran poorly on PS3, though. Something about really horrible load times. But I think that wouldn't be an issue for the Switch's flash memory.
PS3 version runs at a lower resolution (iirc 720p vs. 1080p) and has slightly longer load-times (yet doesn't qualify as "horrible"), and is identical in terms of content.
With your n64 the best it can do without a mod is Svideo. Nintendo branded cables are priced more as a collectors item. Thefoo sells an excellent version
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F173606272632
You can step it up and rgb mod your n64. The hottest board even has a deblur function that helps clean up the image. The n64 in my experience does not scale nearly as well as other systems. Stick to Svideo unless you really love the system and will be putting a lot of time into it.
Psx and ps2 are much more simple. They both support rgb without a mod. Stick to YPbPr (component) on the ps2. It's nearly as good as rgb and much easier to get working. Get hd retrovisions ps2 cable. It's new and as good or better than the official cables. Official will run you as much or more and be used.
HD Retrovision PlayStation 2 (PS2) PlayStation 3 (PS3) Premium YPbPr Component Video Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H3F94ZN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_c7L1BbSF0NXZ0
As for the psx there are several sites making that cable. Get a psx rgb scart cable. Make sure you get euro scart and the proper adapter to plug into your framemeister.
Good luck! Feel free to ask questions
Personally speaking I'd recommend getting a component to HDMI converter (I use this one and it works great but there are plenty of other models to choose from if you want something else) paired with some nice quality component cables (either the official Sony PlayStation 3 ones since they work on the PS2, or the PS2 component cables sold by HDRetrovision), I went a couple of low quality third party ones before spending the extra money on the nicer cables, it's well worth it.
Best option are these for the price.
https://www.amazon.com/HD-Retrovision-PlayStation-YPbPr-Component/dp/B07H3F94ZN/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1538686543&sr=8-1&keywords=hd+retrovision
Easiest way would be ignore that adapter, get a decent quality PS2 component cable like this, https://www.amazon.com/HD-Retrovision-PlayStation-Premium-Component/dp/B07H3F94ZN, use RCA-BNC adapters to plug in directly.

If people do that.. no wonder they're poor.
You can buy the thing for £190 on Amazon
You can't build a PC on pcpartpicker for that price.
This PS3 costs $246 and it's not even the cheapest model.
I would look at Amazon. They still see new ones.

Yeah, there was a FFX/FFX-2 Remaster
I'm gonna make your day
This says limited edition but it's relatively cheap D:
Probably this. It's the main item on Amazon for PC and PS3, standard and collector's editions. It's sold by Amazon themselves, so this is the pre-order code one.
The thing is, if we are pre-ordering, we get early access, so we will already have the game installed via download anyway, so I don't really care whether it's release day delivery or not.
Amazon has more PS3 collectors editions in stock now.

I would honestly just purchase the 12 GB super slim and replace the hard drive with a Seagate 1TB 2.5" SSHD Drive. Hybrid SSHD drives are much faster than regular drives.
Total cost for both is CDN$360.18 with free shipping and it is so easy to replace the 12GB hard drive with the 1 TB hybrid drive, just look up the many youtube videos on how to do it.
If you get a Chromecast, Roku or gaming console you could use HBO Go on your TV.
Or just hook up your PC to your TV as a second monitor and use HBO on your PC.
If your TV doesn't have HBO Go app then you can't get it.
you can get a brand new 12GB PS3 for $200. And it comes with a one year warranty. For some people getting a hard drive and a slot-loading drive might be worth extra money, but not getting a warranty tends to negate that when Sony charges $100+tax for almost any repair. I can buy a super slim hard disk bracket for $15 and add any SATA drive I have handy for free. or spend $50 and get a brand new 320GB drive (again, with warranty).
assuming both your controllers are OEM DS3s, the extra one would be worth $20 in my book. all the other stuff you have, the bluetooth remote, controller charger bay, texting controller add-on and 6 games are things you'd be better off selling separately. if you want to lump them in, I can't see them being worth more than $50 total (and that assumes the games don't all suck). So $150 for the console, $20 for the extra controller, and $50 for the other stuff puts you at $220. I think that is high, and if I was in the market for a PS3, I wouldn't even bother try to haggle with you on a $220 listing, even with all that stuff.
But that is the beauty of Craigslist, you can make a listing with everything for $220, and see if anyone bites. If they don't, relist with a new price. but if you are in a hurry, you will need to price it lower.
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-Computer-Entertainment-Playstation-System-3/dp/B00E369SDM
Yep, they just come without hard drives and have a 12gb on board flash.
I don't think that there are any Bluray players that have a great reputation for their included apps, so it is going to be a bit of a dice-roll there.
My advice it to buy an inexpensive Roku and a refurb Bluray player. Quality refurb Blurays players can be easily found in Amazon.
Or buy a used PS3 for ~120 dollars:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B00E369SDM/ref=sr_1_1_twi_gam_1_olp?ie=UTF8&qid=1452698231&sr=8-1&keywords=ps3
Weird, PS3 component cables should work fine then again I haven't messed with the limited PS2 video settings in years. If those don't work try these
https://www.amazon.com/Component-Premium-Resolution-PlayStation-Console-3/dp/B01B1BMH7A
I just did the research for this exact thing. When I'm back in the US in a few weeks, I'll be getting this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ALUV61U
These seem to have practically no delay.
You'll also need a video cable with RGB component output:
https://www.amazon.com/Component-Premium-Resolution-PlayStation-Console-3/dp/B01B1BMH7A
You can also get McBoot memory card and ethernet/hdd adapter so you can play your games off a hard drive. Edit: assuming you have a fat ps2. If you have a slim ps2, you can still use an external USB hard drive without the ethernet adapter iirc.

Alright, I'll have to splurge alittle more into my cables then... I had a feeling it was the cables. I would love to have an official Sony component cable but for $30 I have to pass lol. Thank you for the help! I think I have another set in mind, I'll attach them to gather your thoughts:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01B1BMH7A/ref=ya_st_dp_summary

I can't imagine any other cable could be noticeably better. I just couldn't justify spending more on cables than I did for the console.

I just got the PS3[PS3](Persona 5 - PlayStation 3 Standard Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GKHJP4I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_OYsSDbBZP9NXB) version from Amazon for $16 bucks. Now I have a reason to see if the PS3 I’ve had collecting dust for 5 years will actually turn on for the first time.
What you need is a high quality component cable, that alone will drastically improve the quality. The supreme solution is to combine a high quality component cable with a converter such as the OSSC to get a hdmi output. But these are on the pricey side but are amazing. So I'd get the cable first see if that's enough for you then go from there if you want to go the whole way.
I can strongly recommend this cable, its very thicckkk:
HD Retrovision PlayStation 2/3 (PS2/PS3) Premium YPbPr Component Video Cable https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H3F94ZN/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_HrZrDb1N4DPB3

HDRV PS2 cable would be the cheaper option of the 2: $76.23 off amazon.ca: https://www.amazon.ca/HD-Retrovision-PlayStation-Premium-Component/dp/B07H3F94ZN
or $45 elsewhere: https://retrostuff.ca/collections/hd-retrovision-cables/products/playstation-2-3-ypbpr-component-cable

the Playstation adapter would be $22: https://retrostuff.ca/collections/hd-retrovision-cables/products/playstation-a-v-port-adapter
These are the best component cables:

PS3 uses wireless controllers, so no compatibility unless you buy a 3rd party converter
Pretty much any PS3 made recently has no PS2 game compatibility.
You would have to find out of the early fat PS3s and check the model #.
Most usb/wireless keyboards/mice work with it. Also, bluetooth keyboards. There is an official remote which you can easily find online.
HDE PlayStation 2 Controller to... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000NJBD90?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
This is the one I’ve been using for almost a year ~$8
I have this one, this one, this one, and this one.
The SG is about 25-30ms behind every other guitar I have, which is a lot.
It's playable, but fiddling with the calibration setting in between hitting the notes too early so they break on the strikeline, and hitting them at the correct time where they don't go past the hit window is annoying, and there's no reason to deal with that.

Found this on amazon.
Why is it still almost $40 on Amazon?
http://www.amazon.com/Orange-Box-Playstation-3/dp/B000PE0HBI/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1228167347&sr=8-3
Not sure where you've seen it for $60, but there are obviously better deals.
Portal was awesome too. I thought about picking it up again for the ol' PS3 as part of the Orange Box, now that everyone has moved on to the PS4 and prices of games have dropped. There's also the perk of getting the Half-Life episodes and Team Fortress 2 (which I imagine nobody plays anymore??) but....what the bloody hell. The price of a new copy on amazon is between $100 to $200!! I might just settle for someone's greasy cheeto's stained scratched to hell used copy for $30 or so, instead.
honestly i would much rather cheap accessories than those in the pic.. puck + that gun prob 200-300 bucks.. just let us use our vive controllers and make some 'plastic holders' if you will..
btw.. i dont see whats wrong with being more immersed in a game. if you have a plastic holder shaped as a gun in your hand it feels better than just a normal controller imo..
https://www.amazon.com/POWER-Mario-Kart-Racing-Wheel-u/dp/B00IAL5KE2
https://www.amazon.com/Precision-Shot-Hand-Guns-Playstation/dp/B0076UYWSI
https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Move-Sharp-Shooter/dp/B002I0K622
these things for vive would be amazing.. cheap and let us use our own existing hardware. better than playing elite dangerous with 360 controller imo.. totally ruins the experience when you have a console controller in hands.
It's a move accessory.
Definitely check out the other two Sucker Punch games, Amazon has the collection of all 3 for $15.47.
These are what I found 1 2 3 4 5
Dude, it comes out on the 19, according to amazon.
I'll wait till 4/20 to buy it though, I can't think of a better way to spend 4/20.
Fuck that, get it for fucking free!
Buy it on Amazon, get the promotional 20 dollars, nab the code, then do this fucking shit.

Like Pereb27 says, your best bet is probably 3rd party controllers. You're definitely not the only person that feels that way about the first party ps3 remotes. PowerA makes my favorite ps3 controller although not all of theirs have sixaxis, which will be a problem in The Last of Us when you need to shake the controller to fix your flashlight. That one has the concave trigger buttons and sticks like the xbox controller, which is pretty much the only thing i always hated about the ps3 controllers.
I always recommend the Power A Pro Ex PS3 controller. It's usually in the neighborhood of $13 on Amazon and it is the best controller I have used for emulating multiple platforms outside of Playstation, Xbox, and Nintendo brand controllers.
Edit: here's a link. I guess the price went up. You can check Walmart too. A few friends bought this controller there for less than $15. Can't figure out how to format it on mobile, so here it is
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-EX-Controller-PS3-Playstation-3/dp/B003VWXV50/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1393748341&sr=8-2&keywords=power+a+ps3+controller
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-EX-Controller-PS3-Playstation-3/dp/B003VWXV50/ref=pd_bxgy_vg_text_y
I bought that and use that for this game. I also use it for my PS3 with out issues. 100+ hours in ETS 2 so far and zero issues. If you get it and want my lay out let me know and I can write it out. Basically I can operate everything in my truck with this for cheap.
I personally use this controller a lot. Lasts a long time if you don't spike it like I just did (blame Dark Souls)
You're in luck, in light of the new console generation most the greatest hits available for the PS3 are available for half their original price or less some even available in combo packs.
• Any title from the Ratchet and Clank series. The original trilogy is available on one disk on amazon with remastered HD graphics for $19 as well as All 4 one for ten bucks.
• The UNCHARTED series is praised as one of the best exclusives on the console to date and will not fail to impress.
• If you're a Sonic fan or not these games are fun.
• A few other gems that are worth a look.
Bioshock Infinite: $59.99 for download on Amazon. $44.90 for boxed copy.
Borderlands 2: cheaper if you buy boxed copy
Tomb Raider: PC download version more expensive than both PS3 and 360 versions
I love games! My favorite game is Settlers of Catan right now. I think. Although my guilty pleasure is the sims. shhhhh
I am listing a game from each category that I have on my WL.
Thank you for the contest!

I have a soulution for you, Friend.
Dark Souls. PS3 XBOX360 PC
It is tough, but fair, and it might just be everything you ever wanted in a game.
If you want PS+ with it, absolutely. And you should, since PS+ rotates through some of the best games in the PS3's huge back catalog and offers them for free. I've also found it great for games I wouldn't normally risk the money on that I've turned out to love.
Since you get more out of PS+ the longer you have it, if it interests you, now is the time to get it. The free games you will get between now and any possible PS3 price drop will more than cover the difference.
If you're not interested in PS+, then it comes down to whether it's worth it to you personally to wait for a few months to save $50-100.
I would suggest one of these models, depending on which games interest you. Having a 500gb drive is a big advantage to these models, and the other bundle game (Uncharted 3) has a smaller hard drive... and the game is free on PS+ right now.

Still haven't added the Jak and Daxter HD collection...
It's not hard for a newcomer to start into the series--there are currently 10 stories to experience (9 console games, and a mobile phone game that's been made into a movie). Everyone sort of talks about how complicated the story is, but really, the series isn't as complicated as newcomers like to joke :) It's just that it was hard to play them all from 2002-2012 when they were spread out across different platforms, and skipping out on one of the games essentially meant skipping out on a story that drove the overall plot forward. But now that they're all remastered as PS4 bundles, it should be fairly easy for fans old and new to catch up with the overarching story before KH3 is released.
---
What makes the series fun is how deep the lore goes. If you want to start the series with a PS4, you should wait for the $50 "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix", a collection of the first six remastered titles that'll be released on March 28. Afterward, if you enjoy the games, KH2.8 contains the final three. If you happen to get a hold of a PS3 and you don't want to wait, the $17 "Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix" collection contains the first two games of the series (Kingdom Hearts and the sequel KH: Chain of Memories) and a movie for the third (Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days).
Grab KH 1.5 and keep an eye out for KH 2.5. Both are graphical improvements of the Final Mix games on the PS3, with some added scenes and other fun stuff.
Prototype is similar to Infamous with the open world fantasy stuff. You should probably check out the Uncharted Series, as I think you can get the first two for dirt cheap in a bundle. I enjoyed Final Fantasy XIII (don't know how popular that opinion is): it is a really really pretty game with a decent story and a fun combat system.
There have been a lot of Kingdom Hearts games that have come out since Kingdom Hearts 1 came out in 2002. There's been the first game, Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts 2, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Coded, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2 -A fragmentary passage.
The collections are the newest versions of these games. Kingdom Hearts 1.5, Kingdom Hearts 2.5, and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 are the collections. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 is just both of those two collections on a single disc, but made for the PS4 rather than the PS3.
The cheapest way to get these games is either to get 1.5+2.5 and 2.8 used, or to buy The Story So Far, which is a digital version of all of the collections, which include all of the games so far. It's only $40, and you get six games and three movies (358/2 Days, Re:Coded, and X: Back Cover are all movies). All in One is exactly like The Story So Far, but also includes Kingdom Hearts 3. It's $100, so you don't save any money by getting All in One rather than The Story So Far.
My whole point being that you shouldn't pay more than $40 USD for all of the games prior to Kingdom Hearts 3.
Wow, I really can't find one anywhere! I bought mine on eBay a while back, but I can't find any listings for them right now...

I've heard that using this adapter works best, though I've only heard of people using it with wired SGs so your mileage may vary.
Do you use this one ? It’s the one recommended on the CH wiki
Not personally, but others have. This is what you’ll want: https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Controller-Converter-Sony-PS3-Controllers/dp/B000NJBD90. You’ll likely have to map the controller as well once in the game.
Thanks man, appreciate it. I don't think the adapted I use is a Raphnet adapter, probably isn't. I got it from here: https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Controller-Converter-Controllers-compatible-2/dp/B000NJBD90/ref=pd_gwm_cr_simh_2?pf_rd_s=blackjack-experiment-1&pf_rd_t=Gateway&pf_rd_i=mobile&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pd_rd_wg=VPuRY&pd_rd_r=8D0J6KS02BXJFQ3NKKZX&pd_rd_w=QJiER&pf_rd_r=DVP8K3Y1MHBKN1PKE7BE&pf_rd_p=9f61167e-e113-42e9-8ec8-2f161c40ddd7&pd_rd_i=B000NJBD90
You need the wireless receiver
then the PS2 to USB adapter dongle
Btw it's not worth it. Too much latency to be enjoyable.
This is one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NJBD90/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
this is the one i use https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NJBD90/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 i found it has no latency at least the one i have tilt works whammy bar does not it says it does not work with guitar hero guitars but it does
I haven't tested it for RetroPie (or even Linux for that matter), but I've been using this adapter from McBazel on my PC for PCSX2 and Clone Hero, and it's worked pretty much flawlessly so far. In spite of it's Amazon listing name, it even works with Guitar Hero controllers! (this is actually the very adapter that /r/clonehero recommends for PS2-tars)
360
PC
PS3
That makes no difference.
As for the PS3 version of Half-life 2.
Exceedingly affordable? I mean, if you wanted all those games it's a good deal. But I wouldn't even try Half-Life or TF2 if I had them. So it's not much of a steal.
At a measly $10, maybe I'll just suck it up and get it on Steam.
Ehh i'm gonna pass, but if you're set on getting one, check out Amazon
I identify the most with games and books. But in this case, most likely games, If you're okay with going 5 bucks over 20, then This would be nice
If you're really set on a price under 20 and 20 only. This would be Nice But if you don't have prime, Then this Would work
Or you can give me a gift card so you can add to a current running fund I have for a game that I want. Thank you for the contest and much love.
> Valkeria Chronicles on PS3
You mean like under $20 new? Maybe they don't have digital distribution for it, but it definitely is easily available for a reasonable price.
http://www.amazon.com/Valkyria-Chronicles-Playstation-3/dp/B0016C3260
One thing that will be very interesting is to see if this is supported... If it is, I bet it gets sold out real fast!
Aragorn's Quest is all right. Unless you're hardcore Tolkien fan, skip that one.
Killzone 3 with the attachment Comedian70 recommended is pretty fun. Strafing as your primary movement will take a bit to get used to, but other than that it's a headshot galore (yes, also in multiplayer. yes, i played it with move, and would still do it if I had time).
Sports Champions is especially solid Move example for bigger parties.
Now, Resident Evil 5... Let's just say I have a Platinum trophy in that game basically thanks to Move (and a buddy of mine, who's presence as P2 eliminated the idiotic AI shenanigans). Get the Sharpshooter accessory for it, though.
You need this!
http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Move-Sharp-Shooter-3/dp/B002I0K622
Using the move is second only to being able to play an FPS, in my opinion. I love it! Everyone prefers different controls, though.
Oh cool I hadn't seen either the "THINGY" nor "Dualplay". It's a bummer that it looks like the "Dualplay" indiegogo never made it. That would have been useful. But you can't argue with the simplicity/accessibity/low cost of other hardware store based alternatives.
At some point down the road I do want to add in EXT port attachment handling so that we could support attachments like the sharshooter attachment (http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Move-Sharp-Shooter-3/dp/B002I0K622), that work will come after PS4 camera support (via https://github.com/bigboss-ps3dev/PS4EYECam) and DS4 support.
It seems like this is a newer version of the Sharp Shooter from the PS3 Move days:
https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Move-Sharp-Shooter/dp/B002I0K622/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_63_t_0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=DVM1G7DS67NMHADQJ038
If I have one of those, could I use that with Farpoint instead or does this offer something else?
I still think the Move one for PS3 is the best.
There's collections for all 3 series. Sly Cooper Collection, Ratchet & Clank Collection, and Jak & Daxter Collection.
The only thing is that the R&C collection is missing Deadlocked, my third favorite one. Good thing I still have it on PS2, though. Other than that, those are pretty much the entire series. All of Sly Cooper is on PS3 now, all main series Jak & Daxter are on PS3, and all Ratchet & Clank minus Deadlocked are on PS3.
Well for platformers i,d recommend the Jak and Daxter Collections (if you haven't played them yet) and the Sly Series(1 to 4)
As for Action-adventure only a few comes to my mind: The Infamous series (basically it is an action open-world\Sandbox game with comics-style story) and the Batman Arkham series (a really great game series).
They made one on the PS3, there you go

Welcome back!
Here's my list of suggestions, why, and links to where to get them. A few are only available on computer, but you'll see which ones:
As for if you should give 1 or 2 gifts, I think 2 might be a lot of fun! But it might depend on what the "1st place" person has on their list and what you want to give them! I'd say make the decision based off of what you want to give the main winner! =)

EDIT - 3DS Games to consider:
edit 2: P.S: I'm new. I'll be making an intro post hopefully tonight! So hopefully it's alright that I posted here first. I was just excited, as I'm a gamer and love helping people with what to play next. In any event... HI!!
edit 3: I just made my [INTRO] post. It's here if you/anyone's interested.
there is, look local multiplayer, right here.

Amazon matches Wal-mart deal!
$5 off the $59.99 retail price AND $20 credit on future purchases at Amazon.
> In any case, what do you prefer?
I've got a pair of these and they work pretty nice. I think they needed a driver on Windows XP, but every other OS I've used them with they were Plug-n-Play. You might run into issues with programs that only support XBox controllers, though. I've also got NES and SNES controller adapters from this site. Great for emulation. I've never noticed any lag and the plastic is pretty nice.
> A friend mentioned that the wireless controllers will not work with PC, even with the wire charger/adapters.
I'm pretty sure this is false. Microsoft themselves make adapers, and there are many third-party ones on Amazon. (I'm not very familiar with XBox products, so I can't tell which one is the official adapter, so I don't have a link. The best I could find is this on Newegg.) With bluetooth (you can buy a "dongle" if your PC doesn't have it, which it probably doesn't) and Motioninjoy, you can use also use PS3 controllers.
the PowerA pro ex is really good
its wired but I've been enjoying it even though I prefer the ps3 controllers. Its pretty cheap too. My only complaint would be when you first get it the sticks are too tight
This one is definitely one of the best, it's worked great for me so far.
http://www.amazon.com/Pro-EX-Controller-PS3-Playstation-3/dp/B003VWXV50/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396395004&sr=8-1&keywords=power+a+pro+ex
I use a 3rd party controller with my PS3...the layout is the same, but of course, it'll feel a little different.
Just saw this on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Pro-EX-Controller-PS3-Playstation-3/dp/B003VWXV50/ref=pd_sim_vg_4
Is that more like what you guys want?
Edit: Here is a wireless one http://www.amazon.com/Pro-Elite-Wireless-Controller-Playstation-3/dp/B003V4AK8E/ref=pd_sim_vg_2
Dang girl
Do you own any of the Supernatural seasons yet? If not, the first season is $22, for instance. You should buy your favorite seasons!
As far as video games are concerned, I'd recommend buying Uncharted 2, the new Tomb Raider, and Heavy Rain. These games are all super pretty and fun in very different ways.
>So like right now, with no sale going on, Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite on 360 (just picking the two biggest games so far this year) are $37 and $40 on amazon respectively.
http://www.amazon.com/BioShock-Infinite-Xbox-360/dp/B003O6EB70/
http://www.amazon.com/Tomb-Raider-Playstation-3/dp/B004FS8LYK/
Those are both "on sale", notice the list price crossed out and replaced with a sale price? That's the normal price which will drop as the game price drops. Go check out skyrim on amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/Elder-Scrolls-V-Skyrim-Xbox-360/dp/B004HYK956/
List price is now down at $30.
>Are they going to be cheaper on Steam Summer Sale? Probably, but they are not $60.
They have already been cheaper to obtain on pc than the "are $37 and $40" prices you've listed.
>No offense, but just the fact you're in Australia makes you the odd case out, because Australia's prices (which I'm sure you know and I sympathize with you) are all kinds of fucked.
No, you're wrong. /u/NyranK specified Tomb Raider.
Okay, so it gets a little better when you buy the most inferior version of the game on console.
Oh, look at this:
Tomb Raider - PC (Amazon download): $3.99
Tomb Raider - Steam: $3.99
Sorry, no, NyranK isn't the odd one out, this is the deal even in the US. The price difference isn't quite as extreme, but you can't seriously be saying a $25 to $30+ price difference is insignificant?
Is this the same game as this? http://www.amazon.com/Tomb-Raider-Playstation-3/dp/B004FS8LYK
Oh of course, that's why I've always stuck to the PC. I prefer PC gaming because:
All other arguments for PC gaming such as generally lower price of games are entirely subjective. The infographic in this post shows the price of PC games as $40 and the price of PS3/360 games as $60. This completely disregards PC gamers who buy all AAA PC games on release day for $60 (e.g: Company of Heroes 2 is $59.99 on steam right now) and console gamers who wait a few months after release and buy the games for less (e.g: Tomb Raider for PS3 is $39 at Amazon right now).
Tomb Raider: http://www.amazon.com/Tomb-Raider-Playstation-3/dp/B004FS8LYK/
$24.99 on steam (50%).
$17.49 on amazon (56%), with "gooncave" code $14.87.
You can get Skyrim (Standard Edition) on Amazon for just under $30.
Background: Farrah is one of the closest, if not the closest, friends I’ve ever had. She was my choir teacher in high school and much older than I am. I’ve always been rather mature for my age, so I get along better with older people. Well, we clicked and after I graduated we became super close. As you’ll soon figure out, I loved her in more ways than one.
Reason: I don’t even think I have the words to properly describe how grateful I am that she is my friend, how much love I have for her, or just how much I admire her. I think she is absolutely amazing. I could gush on for hours about how amazing I think she is. She is incredibly friendly and loving. It is a blessing to know that God saw fit to create people like her and allow me to be blessed by her presence and faith. I think she is completely insane, well, maybe not completely (that’s reserved for me) but she’s up there.
She was there for me, although not in the flesh, my first semester as a freshman in college. I had no friends and was incredibly lonely. We texted, talked, and/or messaged daily. Looking forward to talking with her is what got me through the day. She gave me new eyes to look through and a different perspective. I believe she helped me grow a lot as a person, challenging me to better myself and ask questions. She understands me better than anyone I’ve ever met. I could look at her and not say a word and she’d know what I was feeling and, if necessary, how to comfort me.
I think she’s beautiful, externally and internally beautiful. External: I love her eyes. (Then again, that is probably because I have always been an eye person.) They are so expressive and so full of love. I love the way her lips pucker when she says and describes something she thinks is ‘beautiful’. I find it adorable. I love her smile. When she smiles, it seems as if all is right with the world. I love her passion for life and her passion for living it. I love her passion for God; it is inspiring and gives me faith. I love her passion for passion; it frightens and excites me. I love how humble she is. As often as people (and I) tell her that she is amazing, she never lets it go to her head. I love her sense of humor. I love how she’s not afraid to make a joke that is ‘wrong’ by every standard. I love how she is so unafraid to speak her mind. It’s so refreshing.
Now to clear up any… issues. I was over 18 when I met her, so don’t fear of some illegal activity or whatever it is people jump to conclusions about. Secondly, although the love is shared, the romantic love is not and mine goes unrequited. We are still friends to this day although from a greater distance due to life taking us in different directions.
I'm really sorry about the length. If it's too long I can modify it.
EDIT: Add drawing and items
A game I do simply adore is Skyrim for PS3. I grew up with a single mom and the only video game love she showed me was the PS1 with games like Spyro and Tony Hawk XD I got addicted to this game when it came out and played on my friend's console. It was so fun, I couldn't believe it when I looked at my phone and 8 hours of my life slipped away. Right, now, I don't have any games like this for my system.
Eggplant Wizard
Thanks for the 1.21 Gigawatts powered contest.
My plans: I spent today trimming the trees in my front yard, this required saws and ladders and was generally a royal pain in the ass. I was hoping I wouldn't have to do it on account of the weather, but of course after 20 consecutive days of rain, it stayed clear and dry. I am quite glad it's over. Tomorrow our neighbor is having a birthday party so beer, bbq and bounce houses will be prominently involved.
This game would be pretty rad.

Thank you for the contest :D
I want to see Final Fantasy 15. I know they're going to show the HD version of 10 and 10-2, and I'm super excited for that (definitely buying it~~). But I really wish there would be more news about 15. The Final Fantasy series is one of my favorite series. And apparently, 14 will be available on PS3, which would be pretty cool since I don't own a gaming computer. I'm still working my way through 13, and can't wait for Lightning Returns.
I've been bursting at the seems wanting to talk about E3. Thank you for the opportunity!
This game used would be great. It'd hit about $11. Or this one, which would be about $6 used.
That's hardly cheaper than console games. btw, Steam's regular prices are usually higher than what would normally cost you to buy a physical disk.
http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Souls-Playstation-3/dp/B004NRN5EO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1370994356&sr=8-1&keywords=dark+souls
Ok that is what I am doing. If you care not for graphic improvements or think the game already looks good I guess you can get it on console. It's only $18 for PS3 and $22 for xbox or you can go the route that /u/BlocktimusMine gave you and get it for $20 is completely up to you on what feels more comfortable.
Note that you may not finish it before the second one, I have about 55 hours in and I don't feel I am close to finishing it, let alone getting any secrets or even have all the weapons or fully explore every area. For me that is fine since I intend to get the second one on PC and is going to be released later so I have time.
> The Zelda series aren't RPGs because within a given title, every player's Link is the exact same guy.
(1) By that criterion, Kingdom Hearts isn't an RPG since you're always just playing as Sora. You seem to have made a completely arbitrary distinction that action RPGs must have choices/customizable characters, but turn-based RPGs don't need to have choices/customizable characters. Why?
(2) In Dark Souls, you create you character. You choose their appearance, their class, etc. You can choose to kill NPCs or let them live. You can align yourself with a covenant (i.e., a faction) or ignore them all. How is that not enough character customization and freedom of choice/action to be an RPG?
(3) I hate to do this, but shall I just point out that literally every single source on the game says that it's an RPG? Wikipedia, Gamespot, Amazon, and so on? I mean, I get that it doesn't meet some arbitrary condition in your mind, but the world has decided that it's an RPG. By saying that it's not an RPG, all you're doing is saying that you either have a different definition of RPG than the rest of the world, you are unfamiliar with the game, or both.
I have a PS3 that was added Nov 4th 2012. Its still there cause im super poor and like to wish and pretend.
I'd say go for it; I just bought a PS3 a couple days ago, because I don't plan on getting a PS4 until I graduate college, and as Ephaxx said, it's not backwards compatible.
As for model, I bought this one; I was mostly attracted to the price, since the same amount gets a less roomy hard drive and no game.
I haven't had any problems with it so far. Compared to the 60GB launch model I was previously using that was crawling to its death, it's fantastic. I've never been a PC gamer, though, so I can't provide any comparisons there.
You linked to one on Ebay, however Amazon is currently selling it as well...

Likewise you could always go for the God of War pack if you'd prefer that type of game.

Both are cheaper than the 250gb ones on sale by a considerable amount.
ASSASSIN'S CREED 3 WAS THE SET I WAS LOOKING AT. THERE ARE OTHER BUNDLES BUT I'VE BEEN WANTING THAT GAME ANYWAY.
The idea that sony sets the price at $299 is a half truth. The market sets the price. I bought mine for $284 on amazon (now $277:. Oddly enough the newer model, which comes with ACIII and 500gb HDD is cheaper than older models with smaller HDD/no free game.
I don't think you could regret getting a PS3™ system right now, you'll have a great catalog of games available and since PS4™ isn't backwards compatible this is the only way you'll enjoy all those amazing games any time soon.
First of all go here and create your account, then get this PS3 - $200 or this PS3 - $279, and this PlayStation®Plus - $49.99/1 Year ($39.99 with Free BestBuy Reward Zone Gamers Club).
PlayStation®Plus gives you:
Check the PlayStation®Plus Instant Game Collection here: North America or Europe. The European PlayStation®Plus is more expensive (around $10 more), while EU gets a better Instant Game Collection, but NA gets much better discounts.
You have to "purchase" (for $0.00) the games to add them to your PlayStation®Plus Instant Game Collection when they're available, you can do it on your PC via SEN Store or on your PS3™ via PSN Store.
The games you purchased for free will remain forever on your Instant Game Collection and you'll be able to re-download them as many times as you want, however you can only access your Instant Game Collection while your PlayStation®Plus Membership is active.
Remember to "purchase" even the ones you're not interested now or the PSVita™ ones, you never know when you'll get your hands on one.
Any content you pay money for, even with PlayStation®Plus Discounts, will be yours forever to keep and access regardless of the state of your PlayStation®Plus Membership. Free Avatars and Themes are also yours to keep and access regardless of the state of your PlayStation®Plus Membership.

Of course it's real
Not the near future, but the near past:

There is also a PS3 re-make/remaster as well:

Unless you mean a new game like Jak 4? Then no, but maybe the distant future. But still prob not :(
Is the fan working? Anyways, you could always buy a new ps3 and this to go with it. Good luck.
Jak and Daxter, I suppose. Though I don't need it like I need these boring, yet hugely useful cables.

I would recommend picking up the 1.5 and 2.5 edition of the games for the PS3 rather than the original. Basically those editions compile the Final Mixes of 1 and 2 and also throw in a few of the side-games that contribute to the lore but weren't originally on the playstation platform. The overall story is difficult to follow unless you really sit down and devote yourself to understanding it. I would highly recommend this series regardless.
There is minor slapstick comedy but it isn't very intrusive. The game handles mainly themes about love and friendship.
If you have a PS3, you can get the HD remixes!
1.5 and 2.5
is a ps3 all you got? because paper mario is a pretty bright, cheery series, but it's nintendo only, obviously.
ff9 is on psn, and is a pretty happy game, for the most part. i think lunar: silver star story is on psn, too. kingdom hearts lets you play out disney movies, which is pretty happy, and the ps3 remake is $20 on amazon.
This is what the other comments are talking about, ftr.
2.I mean... I could say that I'm not proud of wanting this, but I'd be lying to us both... http://www.amazon.com/dp/B008SBZD5U/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=EXALET0CUED3&coliid=I1AMMIS1Q4JPMM&psc=1
If you're really interested, then the best possible way to do so is to get Kingdom Hearts 1.5 ($20 on Amazon) & 2.5 (also $20 on amazon) on the PS3. They're HD ports of the Final Mix versions of the games. Buying those two discs will give you 6 out of 7 Kingdom Hearts games. The last one, Kingdom Hearts 3D, will be coming to the PS4 later this year.
Anyway, let me know if you have any other questions about it or anything. GL HF!
If you buy The Story So Far, you get every game that's not KH3 represented in some way. It's a pretty good value as you get five games, one smaller game/tech demo, and three movies.
If that's too much, just grab 1.5 + 2.5 Collection. This gives you four games and two movies, and contains KH1 and KH2.
If you're not working with a PS4, you'll need to buy 1.5 and 2.5 separately.

I feel like you'd like the switch, and with the price if you want the games it'll pay off in the long run! But, if you think it'll be a tad pricey, the PS3 has Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale (kind of like smash) and Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing Transformed (kind of like MK and some people like it more but they are definitely two different games that tackle kart racing in two different ways -- I have played and loved both).
A cursory search shows that a basic New PS3, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, and Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing Transformed will cost about $225 and you also have the entire PS3 library at your whim whenever you want it. BUT the Switch will not only come out with newer games including Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, and Binding of Issac Rebirth+ but will also receive all the amazing, critically acclaimed Nintendo first-party titles. In my opinion the Switch will be worth it, but the PS3 is a cheaper and safer alternative even if you throw in a couple more controllers and maybe another game (especially because it doubles as a blu-ray player).

Persona 5 PS3 from Amazon
Playstation 3 from Amazon
---
Both new, not preowned.
Don't try pull that bullshit, the PS3 production may have ceased it's still perfectly feasible to buy the game and a new PS3 in the wild.
You might have an argument 12-18 months from now. But the emulation isn't being done in 12 months.
---
The game is also a digital download on PS3, so it's going to be a while before you can argue it's truly not available.
----
>I want a pc port. I will buy the game if its on my platform. They just dont want to sell it to me.
Which is irrelevant to that fact that you can legimately buy a new PS3 copy of the game to be a legally covered emulation. A copy which Atlus will see money from.
Your stance on this is the very reason why piracy gets emulation in shit.
Because you have an "I want it my way" attitude. And are looking for any possible excuse you can find to justify your actions.
Which is worse because emulation has provided you with a legally approved way of playing the game. Provided you go and buy a fucking physical copy.
I don't know what you are thinking but there is this.

Brand new, with Prime.
Well, I have two video games that aren't even released yet, so I'll have to wait for them anyway! Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix will be released in September, and FFX will be in December.
Also, this blanket would be nice come winter time.
There's always those PSOne classics on PSN.
Also 2 high profile JRPGs from the PS2 era are getting HD re-releases soon. Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix is coming out early Sept and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD is due out before the end of the year. If you pre-order them now you get a free upgrade to the limited edition too!
I did the same. It appears to be the limited edition (in the product title):

Ah so just in UK based stores. They only have specific stores stocking it in the first place which you could check on the official website.
I don't know how it works in UK but I live in Australia and I ordered from the [normal USA Amazon] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BY0G0YU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER) just fine. Checked the official website and they say besides Zavvi you can get it at some place called Shopto. It appears there's still stock from the listing. That's not adequate either?
It seems strangely unfair that it'd be completely closed out to you UK guys when it's still open for other countries.

Gamestop has said "you can only order this online". In the states that is.
The PS3 CE is available on Amazon As others have said, currently it seems that the PC CE is only available directly through the Square-Enix online store.
They are also offering digital versions of the CE on the SE store. As well as post release digital CE upgrades. Either way, it looks like SE is being extremely frugal with physical CE's this time around. Seeing that the last few MMOs that have released with Collector's Editions have not sold through. There are still 1.0, MoP, and Cataclysm CE's on store shelves.
Yes they do.
Also, only one of those copies needs to be a collector's edition to get the bonuses, not both.

third seller, OceanReefElectronics. I say buy from amazon because if the item you receive is damaged or fails within the 1 year warranty the company gives you, you can talk directly to the seller and they'll give you a refund no problem. OceanReef is a good company. They ship out of Kentucky and I live in Colorado. I got my ps3 from them in 3 days when I paid only for 5-8, that was good.

you can get a refurb one straight from Amazon (no dodgy 3rd party bull) for about $110, though it fluctuates between $90-120 usually depending on how much Amazon paid for them at the time they picked them up.
also... if you want a NEW PS3... you had better act fast. This is basically as cheap as they will ever get. Sony already stopped production of new PS3s in Japan yesterday... so its only a matter of time before they stop all production of new consoles worldwide and the price for new systems will skyrocket. http://variety.com/2017/digital/news/playstation-3-production-halted-sony-japan-1202012032/
Not bad, I would have tried for one with a 500gb HD though. Here's the one I have, all I had to do afterward was buy the $6 mounting kit and stick my old 500gb hd in it.
Does the PVM have a composite output port? Have you tried just connecting the Guncon to that instead of the using the split cable?
I found this cable has both component and composite leads, but I'm not sure if both video signals are sent at the same time. (Probably only in 240p/480i display modes, if at all)
I wouldn't use the RCA cables for the PS2. It will be playing 480i on your monitor and text might be difficult or impossible to read. I remember trying to play PS2 on a 42" TV using RCA and I could hardly read anything. Switching to component allowed everything to be readable though.
I suggest getting a scart to component cable and then a component to HDMI adapter. Note that even though the scart to component cable is for the PS3, it will still work on the PS2.
Using component will allow you to play your games on 480p instead of 480i. That way, you will be able to read any text in games.
Sweet, thanks. I'll get a better a better cord, I should have known not to go with off brand. This is the one I purchased.
I actually had this problem the other day! As you may know, the menus of most ps1 games are at 480p, but the game itself is at 240p, a resolution so unusual most TV's just ignore it. Over composite (also referred to as AV, RCA, and a million other names), it doesn't really care though.
If your TV has component as well as RCA, you could buy one of these cables that you can plug into both the component and composite inputs (If both these inputs do not share a sound input, you'll need A 2-pack of these splitters to make it work)
Then, depending on if you're playing a PS1 or PS2 game, you can just change the input on your TV accordingly between component and AV. Afaik this is the most elegant solution that allows you to enjoy the clarity of component video in PS2 games.
EDIT: If you're just getting into PS1 games on the PS2 you should also know you need a PS1 memory card to save your game. PS2 memory cards inexplicably do not get recognized by the game.
>If your TV has component as well as RCA, you could buy one of these cables that you can plug into both the component and composite inputs (If both these inputs do not share a sound input, you'll need A 2-pack of these splitters to make it work)

I have a component cable (one which has red, green and blue YPbPr connectors and the yellow analog video in too) . My new tv doesn't have a component (or composite or scart) in though, so i need an hdmi converter.
Maybe I shouldn't have made a tldr that leaves this out, because i said so above ;)
>Then, depending on if you're playing a PS1 or PS2 game, you can just change the input on your TV accordingly between component and AV. Afaik this is the most elegant solution that allows you to enjoy the clarity of component video in PS2 games.
I don't think think having to use yellow video in for psx games is satisfactory when they were working with composite before. I'll try the upscaler.
>EDIT: If you're just getting into PS1 games on the PS2 you should also know you need a PS1 memory card to save your game.
I'm not just getting into them. I've played them on my ps2 for 18 years. :) Most of the time through composite (YPbPr), which my old tv supported (and all psx games worked like that).
>PS2 memory cards inexplicably do not get recognized by the game.
They have a different data format so (though you could argue they could have made so you can put a 128KB psx save file onto a ps2 memory card).
But thanks anyway
I've used these with good success though your results may vary. PS3 component cables also work on the PS2. I've also heard good things about Monoprice. I'm running a fat PS2, but the slim should support component.

Outside of the official PS2 & PS3 cable, the best I can recommend for a new one is by HD Retrovision. Identical video quality to the official cables and solid build https://www.amazon.com/HD-Retrovision-PlayStation-Premium-Component/dp/B07H3F94ZN
Audio buzzing is almost always cheap cables. Either try to find some OEM component cables, or some other nice grounded/isolated ones like HD Retrovision's.
Those two are junk compared to HD Retrovision cables.
HDR is more expensive, but are the highest quality cables you can get for PS2.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H3F94ZN
No it isn't. A brand new PS3 is literally 5 dollars cheaper than a new PS4. No one is letting a used PS4 go for $150 unless they're desperate, which isn't the norm.
PS3: https://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-3-500-GB-System/dp/B009DL2TBA/ref=lp_14210711_1_1?s=videogames&ie=UTF8&qid=1498080279&sr=1-1

And seriously don't act like PS4 was $250 when it was new. They cut the price in half within less than 3.5 years, that's horrible as far as a loss goes for Sony. Both consoles were $500 new. You could build a better PC in 2013 for $500, and you can build a better PC now for $250, as well as $500.
Furthermore, stop acting like these consoles are sold at the price paid for the components. They aren't. The alleged cost to build an Xbox One was $471, which is total bullshit. If true, it means the components in these consoles are total trash or were supplied at a massive discount. A more accurate comparison would be "Build a comparable PC for $800 - $1000 and then just cut that price in half".
I just easily threw together an AMD system with better parts for $430, hell I could swap out the RX560 for a 1060 and it would still be under $500.
Amazon.ca?
Correct me if I am wrong but this looks to be the north american release. It says Dec 31st
It is $23 on Amazon and more expensive elsewhere. Throw in the $15 DLC which you have yet to buy and the cheapest you can get it is for $38 and for most intents and purposes that is an inferior version as well.
