So I purchased this Maverick 88 back about a year and a half ago. I was purchasing a rifled 20 gauge at the time for hunting. That was my first firearm and I knew just about nothing about firearms. The guy I purchased that 20 gauge from also sold me the Maverick 88. I got it for $200 out the door, used. I now know that I could have gotten new one for $200 before tax. Oh well, you live and learn.
Anyway, I didn’t much care for this Maverick 88. I shot it when I first bought it. I shot it again last spring to determine if it would be worth it for turkey season. No threaded barrel, so not so great. It’s been sitting in my safe since last spring. I’ve wanted to try to sell it but hadn’t gotten around to seeing what I could get for it. Then, I saw a post on the sub about a guy who saved a Mossberg 500 from a pawn shop and turned it into a home defense shotgun. I decided that I would do the same thing to my Maverick 88. I wanted a home defense shotgun and I wanted to learn more about the inner workings of firearms. I also gave it a thorough parts cleaning.

I bought a shotgun shell holder to carry my spare CO2 cartridges in.

Ive been carrying with one of these for years... Magholder Horizontal Pistol Handgun Glock 9mm/357Sig/40S&W/ 45GAP Magazine Holder (Left) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TROEC04/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_ZtNKzb28TJAKG

u/tobaccowhacko · 5 pointsr/cigars

Welcome to r/cigars!

First thing you need to do is get rid of that paper towel asap! You will over humidify your cigars and you might get mold too! Go to your local B&M and get a boveda pack or order one online. Then use an air tight tupperware container to hold your cigars and humidity. Super cheap and many many people use this as an option. As for building your own. Get an ammo can or a gun case and line it with spanish cedar. It will hold humidity perfectly and you'll get your woodworking skills a bit wet for your next bigger project.

I use some generic pouches off of Amazon, similar to what Milsig used to sell. Work great though the mags have to be inserted right side up, otherwise the securing pin will get pushed open, dumping the balls out.

Tactical Heavy 7.62 Magazine... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GJCHS8O?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I have a 5th mag as a starting magazine, then swap used mags into the pouches as I go, no need for a dump pouch.

u/xxxJakkxxx · 3 pointsr/guns

Looks like it has pretty much all you need. Maybe a buttstock shell holder like this or this but you don't really need anything else on that little beauty.

u/tent405 · 3 pointsr/DIY_eJuice

Oh shit, you just made me realize something. Ammo pouches for tactical juice reloading. Only $5.37 for a belt that can hold a shit ton of juices and mods.

Take a look at these speed strips for your loose ammunition.

u/schmellydickweed · 3 pointsr/guns

It’s made by TacStar. I picked it up on amazon for like 27$ with free shipping. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001AMZXQI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_3tnQBbFZJRVV1

u/triplehelix013 · 3 pointsr/EDC

That's what I do and also recommend. I have a pocket clip but don't always use it depending on my pockets and magazine (if it has an extended baseplate and says sig on the bottom I keep it deeper in the pocket)

Only thing I recommend is you resist the urge to fidget with your mag while at home. I built up this unconcious habit of pulling out my mag and inspecting it while waiting for something to load on the computer at home and caught myself doing it once at a place where I shouldn't be pulling a loaded mag out of my pocket. No one noticed and I'll never do it again lol.

What about something that slips on the butt stock...

Neck weld indeed.

I put one of these on with a piece of 1/2” heater hose between it and the comb and actually was a really solid set up then

u/NATOMarksman · 2 pointsr/guns

Modifications aren't necessary in general unless you find that you actually need them.

Add a sling. You don't really need hi-vis sights for a hunting shotgun, the bead will be more than enough, and shell holders are only if you have no time to stuff spare shells in your pockets or something (which you do as a hunter).

I'd maybe get a shotshell pouch [like this] (http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Company-Shotgun-Carrier-Pouch/dp/B004W2KRP0) so that you don't have a bunch of shells rattling around.

But for the most part you should just spend any spare money on shells.

u/chba · 2 pointsr/airsoft

The battery a bit of a hassle. I would recommend picking up a smaller one as soon as possible. Alternatively, if you buy a stock pouch like this you could drill a hole through the stock and pouch (be careful) and thread the battery leads into the pouch and keep the battery in there.

Only other complaint for the socom length version is the outer barrel isn't threaded. Can't speak for the regular length as I've never handled one.

Overall I like mine, I can imagine someone smaller than me having a hard time swinging it around as it is a bit large. I plan on adding counterweights to the stock to balance it out a little.

here's a picture.

u/PeevedGuy · 2 pointsr/CCW

I bought a Magholder recently. Like it quite a bit. I went with that one since I could just clip it on and go and didn't have to take off my belt to thread it through loops.

I have this one on my 590A1. It's the TacStar 6 shell side saddle.

u/Frothyleet · 2 pointsr/guns

They seem fine, but I'm not sure that they are a particularly huge step up over, say, something like this. Which holds five shells.

u/CompactDisko · 2 pointsr/Nerf

I have this pouch which holds 6 mags and is pretty nice. Anything meant for 7.62/AK sized mags works well for nerf.

u/Judge_Grimrod · 2 pointsr/canadaguns

It holds a few spare mags really easy, and a few loose spares on the outside.

Due to my own size (6'2", 250ish lbs) I use a Condor Gen 2 battle belt with a Condor H harness. Because of my, ahem, girth, the front molle areas are near my sides rather than the front. I actually found that is how I prefer it, rather than a chest rig. I use these to carry mags, as I was 100% sure they work, and didn't want to gamble with any other mag pouches at the time.

Doesn't answer your question per say, but maybe might give you another option.

u/Corphix · 1 pointr/LocationSound

Not to that exact one, found it in the hunting goods section of WalMart for $8. I can say that my harness belt is 2" as well, and it fits perfectly. This was more or less what it was.

I should also mention that ammo boxes are a great way of storing AA batteries off your person. Most are cheap, waterproof, and hold around 50-100 batteries. This one has been the best $3 I've spent on organization in my life.

Because I'll be shooting my 1911 in single-stack, as well as a glock17 in Production class in USPSA, I got the following:

The ones I got

Not 100% sure of their IDPA legality, but I think they're fine, works for both of the classes that I shoot in, and I'm working on making my holsters connect with some tek-lok mounts so pretty quick to change between the two. Or even do both the same night.

I got mine from am at surplus store but you can get them on Amazon too! Here's a link.

The last Harry Potter book.

You are better off thinking the book before this, was the last was book...

edit: Left out the word 'last' out of my answer.

u/AJKresge · 1 pointr/CCW

I just had this happen to me today with the same mag holder and an xds mag as well. I've been experimenting with it lately and today I was out hiking with a friend and I think my backpack pushed it out of there. I have one of these that works very well iwb or owb. I think I will go back to it or my neomag if I want to carry it in my pocket.

u/Pastor_Zatx · 1 pointr/Goruck

You have a bunch of different options available. What I typically do is take 2 inch industrial grade adhesive velcro (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C3EPH0I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) and apply it where I want it. Then you can get all kinds of velcro attachable items to stick on it. If you want molle you can get panels like this one https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C3EPH0I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or this one https://www.amazon.com/BLACKHAWK-Identification-Panel-Speed-Clips/dp/B002T0DX12/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493059728&sr=8-2&keywords=molle+panel+velcro

Lots and lots of choices.

You could also glue in a molle panel with this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007TSYNG8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or just get a needle and thread and sew it in. It's not that hard and you'll learn some important skills that can save you a lot of money!

u/mr_dillinga · 1 pointr/Goruck

That would be great - thanks. I just checked this link https://www.amazon.com/BLACKHAWK-Identification-Panel-Speed-Clips/dp/B002T0DX12/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493059728&sr=8-2&keywords=molle+panel+velcro but it appears to be meant to attach to existing molle to give you a velcro panel for patches. Your other link looks like a copy/paste of the first one. Do you actually have molle with a velco back? Closest thing I can find is this which I could cut down to size: https://www.us-elitegear.com/products/velocity-systems-molle-panel-short.

DIY Kit for 150.

The cheap alternative would probably be something like connecting cheap belts with belt pouches of some kind.

You could also ask around /r/cosplay. This cosplayer has put up a how to guide for the suit and the harness.

For super cheap, I rock a shotgun bandolier for tubes I wear it around my waist and then I wear a belt with a dump pouch.
