I got these little metal clip on deals from Amazon that open like a locket and you insert felt pads inside that you treat with your own sent. Currently I have a blend of sandalwood and frankincense essential oils that I picked up from Bulk Apothecary. Smells pretty frickin' awesome.

You could try something like this. I use it in my office. It's just pads and a small fan. No water involved.

I was also thinking about the aromatherapy necklace (mom). Aromatherapy Necklace

Kinda! You clip it to your vent, and the air blows through fabric to make it smell good. This is what I have: Car aromatherapy diffuser

Those are crap, I have one of these and one of these and a couple sets of essential oils from this company, and they make every room in my house smell fantastic. You put some water in the bowl of the diffuser, and some drops of oil, and it lasts for days. Way better than candles for how far they throw the scent, and they don't burn anyone or the house down. If he just wants the light to flicker like candlelight, I have these and they work great for mood lighting while not burning the house down as well.

Ive seen some people use a humidifier in their setup before. That may help with the moisture issue.

I've used this type before from Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/PuraSense-Ultrasonic-Aromatherapy-Essential-Humidifier/dp/B07MTTHCVV/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?keywords=humidifiers&qid=1567028923&s=gateway&sprefix=Humod&sr=8-8

But instead of putting the humidifier in the bin I pipped in the humid air using a tube from the top of the humidifier and set it beside the bin.

If you do go down this route, you might want a Bluetooth or smart version that you can set on a timer.

I had a bad skin reaction to an indie perfume oil with cinnamon oil. But I love the scent, so I've resorted to using a perfume diffusing necklace like this - I can still wear the perfume, but it doesn't cause any reactions, so win-win!

It's an essential oil diffuser. As to what's actually in it, that's anybody's guess.

u/terminal_veracity · 2 pointsr/smarthome

My ghetto solution is an essential oil diffuser hooked up to a wifi plug.

This is the one I like. It has a mechanical switch, so it will turn on when the wifi plug is toggled. I like that this type doesn't rely on being constantly refilled with water. The little fan is nearly silent yet it distributes the scent throughout a few rooms.

Tip: make the essential oils go farther by using ~50% of a carrier oil like sweet almond.

I have something like this that I got from The Body Shop during post-holiday clearance.
It does the job and sort of looks Desi-ish. One of my best friends has this fancy schmancy one. I'm not sure if the ceramic ones work well, but that's yet another option!

My mom had a stinky coworker and got something like this diffuser necklace and put essential oil on the pad inside and made the chain super short so she could smell it in the office!

Here’s a link to another one though. I’m sure it’s just as good

u/LoveMadi6799 · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Welcome back! I found a moon oil diffuser to make my dorm smell good. It’s not a huge sale (only 15% off) but it looks super cool.

Thanks for the contest!

Edit: my link didn’t work :( and it still isn’t.

u/MSFTBear · 1 pointr/smarthome

It is so much better it's unbelievable. You think Google, one of the biggest tech companies would care about their products but they don't. Most of their hardware products are basically "These companies are doing great with this product! Let's copy it but add nothing and forget about it!"

As for the oil diffuser, it's this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07T82GPN2

If you do get it, the manual is in poor English so it made it a little hard to understand

Edit: Edited the link due to Amazon including a referral code when copied from the android app

Hello lovlies! The dreaded Christmas is over, and it appears we all survived.

I feel so grateful for my husband lately. We had a quiet day just the two of us. We went for a long bike ride, grilled some steaks and ate all of the monkey bread. He lived the cologne and undies I got him. He got me a NOW oil diffuser which I absolutely love! Last night we had lavender going in the bedroom, and today, it's eucalyptus in the living room :)

Also, my pregnant SIL messaged me to tell her that my mother made Christmas a living hell for her. Eventhough she's pregnant less than a year after her wedding, and eventhough they're using one of our top baby names, I feel so bad for her, my mother can be so awful.

Anyway, onward and upward for all of us here, I suppose. At least as best we can.

Hi! My favorite oils I use daily are Lavender, Eucalyptus, and Peppermint. I think those are the best ones because of their versatility. Lavender is an antiviral, antibacterial, antiseptic, antifungal, and so much more and it smells amazing. It literally has 100 uses, if not more. Eucalyptus is an anti-inflammatory, decongestant, antibacterial too! I love to drop some in the shower and breathe it in with steam, same with peppermint oil too! Peppermint oil is antimicrobial, and its amazing to use with a carrier oil like oilve oil, and rub sore muscles with it. You can also out it on your feet to help relieve symptoms of a cold, and lower a fever naturally!
As for a diffuser, I don't actually have one, but the one I really want to get is
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PMNE73Q/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_fD09ub14RE6DD

Or

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GLO7M00/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_qE09ub0PQ682K

I have heard really great things about those two, and I love NOW oils, they are decently priced and they have such a great line :) so if you are thinking of getting into essential oils I reccomend NOW and their diffusers :)

Oil Diffuser Guaranteed to cover even the most nefarious of gasbags stink!

Go vote, kid.

You are incredibly sweet! For morning sickness, it really depends. Nausea can be triggered by so many things (as I'm sure you know, since you've been pregnant before) but there seems to be a general consensus about ginger-related things. Preggi-Pops and Tummydrops were my favorites.

Honestly, I just liked having things that made me feel refreshed. A humidifier/diffuser with a few essential oils would be awesome for aromatherapy - a little pricey but she can use it for anything.

If she's mentioned ANYTHING that has helped her with morning sickness, see if you can transform that into a gift. For example, having a cool cloth on my face and neck helped so I purchased one of those hot/cold eye masks from Walgreens.

Good luck and let me know if any of those suggestions help. :)

This one is amazing! I put it on my wishlist for housewarming.

u/Guepardita · 1 pointr/GiftIdeas

An overnight bag, for weekend trips.

This coffee table book, to inspire future travels.

A luxurious sleep mask, for restful nights.

This shower oil, which is great for dry winter skin.

This relaxing and ambrosial aromatherapy diffuser.

I'd be happy to provide more suggestions if these seem a little off :)
