Actually, Mr hobby’s thinner is quite a good substitute from my own use for Tamiya acrylic thinner.

There are lots of YouTube videos that give excellent tips. Peta Hewitt is very popular.
I use a blending pencil or Gamsol to help get a smooth blending of color. Some people use baby oil or Vaseline, but that was too messy for me.
I have been using Mr. Color Thinner for over a dozen kits. No problem whatsoever. A 50ml bottle should last you over 10 or even 20 kits as you do not need a lot to clean the excess Accent.
You can get a larger bottle 110, 250 or 400 if you are planning to thin enamel paint too.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Mr Color is lacquer based and Mr Color also has its own thinning solution aptly named, Mr Color Thinner or Mr Color Leveling Thinner.
As for the thinning, I was planning to buy Boiled Linseed Oil (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006PGEQ2G) to make my own Magic White and I can put a drop in to the highlight colors if needed. My first painting or two would be a mess but I'll figure it out.
