Incredibly satisfying to replace the old sprinkler face plate with the one that connects to WiFi and let’s you control everything on your phone...

Yes. This is the controller I have I got the 4 zone but they have an 8 and a 12. This is the rain sensor I have

It works great. Adjusts watering depending on the forecast (which I love) and the rain sensor acts as a hard stop when the weather people are wrong.

And when one of my valves failed Orbit sent me another no questions asked, their support people are excellent to deal with.

Solenoid valves something like this... https://www.amazon.com/Rain-Bird-CP100-Automatic-Sprinkler/dp/B00002N8NN

I replaced an old controller so I already had all the valves, piping and sprinkler heads.

Last year I used something similar to this and it worked great. I was gone for over a week.

I was using a Blumfeld battery power timer and pump (amazon) to water. This pump is sitting on the edge of a 5g bucket outside the tent. The bucket has the same nutrient mixture as what is in the res for each plant. It was set to water every 7 hours for 25 second run time. This provided about 100-150ml of water to the plants each time it ran.

The Strawberry Nuggets took 7 days for roots to reach the res, Cookies took 8. I turned off the auto-water pump on day 9. Today is day 11 and they are happy girls.

Nothing wrong at all with Rain Bird. The solid state ones just chug along year after year. About as reliable as one can get:

No people love them though , I went a cheaper route and just got a similar product on amazon. If I am being honest I adjust the speed every now and then but I keep a camera near so I can check on it anytime anywhere .

The kit came with a hose attachment that runs off two different lines, I put it into the side of a 10 gallon trash barrel and sealed it tight.

If you spend the money for the other kit you mentioned it’s easier to install , it screws tight on both sides and seals with o rings

Drip system kit + sprinkler timer.

I got my drip kit for $20 off Amazon, and a few years back I bought a timer for my garden hose. The timer is really great you can set it to turn on every x days or every x hours. You can also control how long it runs for (15mins, ect..).

I just setup a drip system for my peppers and I'd recommend using at least two "drips" per pot.. 3+ would be great. I found that only 1 dripper wouldn't saturate the pot enough.

Edit: here's the timer: Orbit Single Outlet Programmable Hose Faucet Timer, Standard Packaging

Omg mine almost died and at one point i almost wished it would so i could finally be free. Lol. Just keep trying different stuff. I found that it's really important to never let the soil dry. Which feels counterintuitive because my other plants do want to dry completely. The hydrostakes can help with that. But they're kinda hard to use, not gonna lie. I'll link the cheap ones i got on Amazon. but i wouldn't recommend them. I wish I'd spent a little extra and gotten the blumat brand, which seem to work more consistently. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FQR3Q97/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_IOIYDbWWVGJ8M

If you’re not going for too long, you might try something like this. If you want something more elaborate, you could set up a pump, reservoir, and timer and feed on a schedule.

Super useful info, thanks!

So would i be right in saying i need:

  • 1/2 black drip pipe (+necessary connectors to attach it to tap)
  • narrow diameter pipe for attaching emitters
  • Emitters (are these ones any good?)
  • pipe connectors for angles/termination
u/WolfOfWeedstocks · 2 pointsr/microgrowery

If you get the water water plug things I got, it's all about priming them and bucket height. Takes a little trial and error.

u/hazeldazeI · 2 pointsr/gardening

I got the drip line that's a drip every 6 inches. In my raised bed that's 2 x 12 ft, I had three lines of the drip line going down the bed. The automatic timer had the drips going 15 minutes twice a day. The automatic drip line + mulch on top made the garden totally easy and worked great for me since I don't get a chance to do any gardening during the work week due to long hours and a long commute.

Sure they are. A garden hose shut off valve costs around two dollars and is a great thing to have.

It really helps when you're filling water balloons, too.

My 6 has so much creek. So what I did was...

1/4th inch drip tube in the inner seal atop my doors

That worked for a bit but the squeaky noises returned.

Next I used Gummi Pflege on the inside of every single seal within the door. So what I mean is. On the ones that attach to the body, but more importantly I spread open every one on the door and put a generous coating

Lastly,

I put Sailkote all over a rag, I mean soaked it, then rubbed it all over the felt side of the upper door seal that touches the body.

This can be purchased for a lot less with some hunting. I paid 12.99 at a local marina store

thank you. What about this? Input volatage is 120VAC @ 60Hz; Output rating is 24VAC @ 300mA. The one you suggested is 18 volt. Is that to play it safe? The bulbs are actually incandescent.

I've thought about that, though I have to figure out how to easily get around the door way.

Here is a link to the kit I ordered:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07R5LTYZC/

It says it's "UV resistant" materials but could not mean much. That being said, this kit is designed specifically for gardens and not necessarily to be buried, so maybe that helps?

Edit: Also, most of the line is going to run in areas that are shaded for most of the day. That's the reason why I have to go so far for my planter - the north side of my garage is the only part of my back yard that gets full sun.
