Yes, you can get a driving licence if you meet the basic requirements. It's only regarding age and education (in some cases). Here

There is no threshold for height to get a driving licence in India if you can pass the driving test.

About Pedal Extenders, I found these result on both amazon.com & amazon.in

You should also consider which car to buy. I found these threads on forums regarding cars for short people in India:

It is a handle that you put into a car door jamb to help get in and out of the car.

Edit: it also has a seat belt cutter and glass breaker.

u/ChrisPnCrunchy · 14 pointsr/cars

Not to sound snarky but just angle your side mirrors all the way out so that you can see what’s in your blind spot. That’s exactly how you should be using them.

If for whatever reason that is just not an option then I would suggest investing in these little oval stick-on blind spot mirrors

The aftermarket BSM are hundreds of dollars and the little oval mirrors are $8

These are the best purchase I ever made. They cost pocket change and if you adjust everything right my blindspot is nonexistant. I watch cars go from my rear view to my side view to my blindspot (mirrors) to my peripheral vision. If there is a blindspot, its too small to make a difference.

Partly why I was thinking the 7 mirrors would be excessive but as op explained about people with limited upper body movement that makes sense.

They're also great for helping newer drivers learn how to back into spots since they can look at the lines and get a point of reference! Really helped my girlfriend out when she was learning

u/octogonrectangle · 9 pointsr/sysadmin

Maybe use a spot mirror on your monitor & let your brain's motion-detection algorithm do it's thing?

That's always worked for me whenever I've been stuck with an exposed 6 o'clock.

I attached blind spot mirrors to my Nighthawk 750.

I have my regular mirrors set for upright cruising, and I have the blind spot mirrors set for higher highway speeds.

Veloster seems to be a really good value. Huyndai is not known for quality problems. If you like the car, it fits your particular needs, and the price is right, I suspect you probably won't do much better.

Something like this will help with the blindspot issue: Custom Accessories 71121 2" Blind Spot Mirror, (Twin Pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BOAX1G/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_EmRQAb49ZENPF

You just adhere it directly onto your current mirrors in the far corner. Can probably also find these at a local auto parts store

Edit: hopefully someone who owns a Veloster can chime in with their input on quirks and ownership experience :)

u/barkingcat · 7 pointsr/toronto

I think you are misunderstanding what "checking your blind spot" means.

Every car has bindspot(s) - it is the driver's responsibility to check ALL OF THEM - it's called a blindspot for a reason, and the first few lessons on Driver's Education is that you know your vehicle and check your blind spot(s). If there is a place on your car where your blind spot is bigger, you need to adjust mirrors and your driving technique such that you can cover ALL the blindspots. There should NOT be a place beside your car where you cannot check due to being blinded - it's a technique adjustment and possibly a technical gear adjustment (mirrors, adding additional "smaller wide angle spot mirror" glued onto your existing side mirror[1], or even side cameras in newer cars, etc)

You would actually fail a recent driver's ed test if you claim that you can't see the cyclist because he's in your blind spot.

Just expounding that fact identifies that your driving technique needs adjusting. Think about it this way - imagine if that's not a cyclist, but a cop on a motorcyle. The cop will 100% going to write you a ticket for not checking your blind spot properly if you run into the cop.

This is the stuff used in GoPro mounts and you can find it at any auto parts store or Home Depot - maybe even Wal-Mart.
It held my GoPro onto the side of my bike doing 180 down the back straight of COTA so I would think it'll hold some LED strips on, plus it doesn't leave a nasty residue when you remove it with some rubbing alcohol and dental floss.

u/ValyrianSteelYoGirl · 4 pointsr/IdiotsInCars

You really don't... not sure why you got down voted to hell. A lot of work vans don't have them on the back doors. Semis too... Properly sized & aligned side-view mirrors (I like to throw on a convex sticky mirror) can get you seeing everything around you.

u/Draco-REX · 3 pointsr/cars

None of my blind spots are large enough to lose even a Miata in. It's YOUR responsibility to be aware of your blindspots and be able to tell if there's a car in them. Try these

u/captainpixystick · 3 pointsr/funny

As someone who has driven on the freeway commute for a long time, I always assume someone is in my blind spot. Always. And just to make sure, I have these on my side mirrors to check before I change lanes: http://www.amazon.com/Custom-Accessories-71121-Blind-Mirror/dp/B000BOAX1G

It's like people who say to look out for motorcyclists. If I drove a motorcycle, I would make damn sure I knew what was going on around me at all times. I understand that sometimes they're at the mercy of the drivers around them, but I'd argue that most of the time motorcyclists wreck because of their own negligence.

Bought on Amazon, link below. The front ones do ok as long as you don't lower the window past them. The rear ones do nothing, but no brand or style would do anything due to the way the rear windows open. They don't just open from the top but the rear edge also opens. So the rear ones are simply for looks no matter the brand you buy.

u/Travels4Work · 3 pointsr/Jeep

Most of what you'd see in that price range is no-name Chinese steel bumpers such as EAutoGrills(EAG), Restyling Factory, etc. There's a ton of them on Amazon or Ebay. I have no particular complaints about them; the welds aren't the cleanest but they're typically as beefy as you'd want and hit the functionality for value mark.

You mentioned no preference on style, but I think you should make the decision to either protect the fenders or leave the open wheel look. Narrow it down from there.

Note that a steel bumper will add 55-80 pounds forward of your wheels, and a steel cable winch another 80 pounds. All that weight will definitely cause the front end to sag. A couple of pucks from a leveling kit helps, but the real fix for that is upgraded springs. Keep those in mind if you're thinking about the total price of a steel bumper and winch.

Day one -- get some ZL1 rock & mud guards, hellcat spoiler swap, luxe taillight/sidemarker tints, and inside/door LED light swap. Pretty much the most affordable and easy mods you can do. The spoiler may be a bit pricey.

The rock & mud guards will run you about $95 after shipping.

The luxe taillight and the luxe sidemarker tints will run you about $35 and $25 respectively.

The LED swap can run you anywhere between $10-$30 depending on what you find. This was one of the first links I found. If you want to swap the map bulb (these lights that are above you that comes on automatically) you need to get another kit but it's pretty cheap at around $8.

The hellcat spoiler swap will run you a little over $100 with shipping. The one I linked fits in the holes already drilled for the stock spoiler (if you have one). If you don't have one, you'll need some drilling done. If you have one, you may need to fill a hole or two on either side of the trunk.

Overall these quick and easy mods will run you about $300 or so but will drastically change the look of your car.

Further mods that I recommend are exhausts (catback exhausts are your best bang for your buck, though they'll run you upwards of $1,000+). If you're interested in changing out the exhaust, look up American Thunder by Flowmaster or Borla S-Type/ATAK. If you want to hear what an S-Type sounds like, I posted a video not too long ago. Also, for the exhausts, it doesn't matter if they're made for RWD or AWD. The Chargers aren't different from the cat back when it comes to transmission/drive-train so RWD exhaust systems will fit the AWD vehicles.

A cold air intake can also be a slight improvement. Though there's negligible hp/mpg gains, it deepens the exhaust of the car a bit. I found that after I put mine on, my exhaust had a deeper and more rumbling tone. And, it makes a cool noise too.

u/just-another-post · 3 pointsr/short

Good move. Sitting too close to the wheel can be very dangerous in case the airbag ever deploys.

I am guessing this sub doesn't have a lot of experience with pedal extenders. I found these on Amazon, but you will have to buy the clutch separately. Depending on the length you need, it won't be hard to find using Google or eBay.

The people on /r/dwarfism or /r/cars might also have recommendations for you.

u/thecavebreathes · 3 pointsr/vancouver

I hate to break it to you, but when determining liability, pulling out from the park position actually makes you the servient driver that's supposed to yield to the dominant drive (other lady) who has the right of way. https://www.icbcclaiminfo.com/node/9

Whether the lady turned or not doesn't matter much, since she has the right of way and should be able to maintain speed. Regarding the vehicle bouncing, that might be affected by the weight of your vehicle compared to hers.

Some tools that might help increase visibility in the future include blind spot mirrors and a wide angle rearview mirror. Both have been lifesavers for me when driving in New York since they help you see more of what's going on around the car during the maneuver (i.e. when pulling out) and not just before it.

>When you drive you look over your fucking shoulder to merge. You look over your fucking shoulder when you reverse into a parking spot.

Boy do I have something for you.. Looking over your shoulder to merge is one of the most dangerous activities you do while driving and is something that can be avoided with a $5 purchase.

Also some people have the luxury of a backup camera which is primarily used for, you guessed it, backing up. No over-the-shoulder looking necessary.

Maybe you should check yourself for assumptions about how you live your life and realize that what you think might be necessary because it may be necessary for you isn't necessary for everyone and doesn't make them somehow worse than you because of it.

As to the DDing question - I really really like these blind spot mirrors for this car. I tried a few different options and discarded the crappy or otherwise unsuitable ones, these were the best.

If your car doesn't already have it, I'd also recommend the OEM autodim mirror (with or without homelink depending on your preference). Easy to install yourself if you're so inclined, the wiring is already hiding under the headliner.

u/DracoDragonite · 2 pointsr/cars

Hey OP. I have heard of these cool new mirrors that have been out for a few decades. Some cars even have them from the factory.

u/NoGoodNamesAvailable · 2 pointsr/driving

Cruise control makes highway driving a lot easier. Just stay in the right lane, try to figure out the rough speed of traffic, and go a few km/h below that (this usually ends up being a few km/h above the speed limit, but if you want to go the limit that's fine too).

People can go around you, and with cruise your speed will stay consistent so they have nothing to complain about.

Don't obsess over your rear view. It's good to keep an eye on it in city driving, and obviously you need to check it before slowing down or changing lanes, but when you're going at a constant speed the morons behind you are just going to distract you and stress you out. Your attention needs to be on the road ahead of you.

If the left lane is clear for a while behind you, it's good form to move over if you see cars merging, but certainly not obligatory. You should be able to maintain the same speed. If there are cars coming up in the left lane, don't worry about it.

I would highly recommend you buy convex blind spot mirrors if your car doesn't have them. It does NOT eliminate the need to check over your shoulder for cyclists and pedestrians on surface streets, but can effectively eliminate your blind spots for highway driving. My car has really bad blind spots and they make me feel much more comfortable on the highway.

Here's a decent video on removing the front bumper - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUNlKmHgp9k

I watched and read as much as I could before diving into this. Let me tell you: it's fairly common sense once you do it. You almost could just go figure it out. I think I could have the bumper off in 15 minutes now that I've done it. Here's the main thing to know: once all fasteners are removed unclip the sides of the bumper outwards, the top upwards, and lastly the whole assembly forwards.

I saw the backs of the mesh grills and filed away the idea to change them some time later.

So, I've ran into this problem with pretty much everything on the market. My solution was 3M Automotive double sided tape. This stuff will stick to anything!

u/bigj231 · 1 pointr/buildapc

I would contact their CS team and see what they say.

I like using adhesive for fans too. 3M makes a high strength adhesive tape used for attaching trim on cars. http://smile.amazon.com/3M-03614-Scotch-Mount-Molding-Tape/dp/B002JOVUO0
5 foot should be plenty, but it's really not that much more to buy 15 feet. Just some small squares on the corner and they won't come off without some serious pulling.

u/PM_Me_Your_Deviance · 1 pointr/howto
u/UserReeducationTool · 1 pointr/homeowners

My first thought (although a somewhat off-label use) would be 3m VHB trim and molding tape like this: https://www.amazon.com/3M-3614-15/dp/B002JOVUO0. As long as both surfaces are perfectly clean (as in wipe them down with alcohol before applying), I'd be shocked if it didn't hold up as least as well as whatever the holder came with. It's fairly ridiculous stuff.

I'd go with something like that being somewhat flexible over an epoxy of any sort, the flexibility might help it last longer. I would bet that 3M 5200 would work as well (it's a marine adhesive sealant) but it'd be more of a PITA to work with than the VHB tape.

u/tennapop · 1 pointr/cruze

I've always like the yellow fog lamps/covers, so I may go that route if I don't add LED DRL to them.

I did add the lip. I had something flip up from the highway and gutted the guard that is usually under the front bumper and it made for a bit of an eye sore when you looked at the front end since you still saw where it clipped in. I ordered that off of Amazon. It's literally just a heavy duty foam/plastic that has really good 3M tape. Here's the link.

Can you find out the type of bulb it is.You are going to have to do some researching. Why not post a picture of the bulb or does it have markings? There should be a model number on the bulb. Once you have a model number check ebay and select USA only. You might have some luck. I am curious myself. I couldn't find anything after searching.

For the type being why not wire up a cheap handle bar clamp dual sport light or something like that. This one is prime so you can get it in a few days and get back on the road. Even a cheap replacement headlight would work.

I've never used one or seen one used, but it might be useful?

u/OxfordDictionary · 1 pointr/Parkinsons

Great minds think alike, Parkie. I ordered those things for one of the PWP in our support group.

We didn't try the seat belt helper you linked, but now that I see it I think that could be a big help to him.

The standing assist was a hit--it helps a lot getting out of the car. It's also called a car cane.

The swivel seat didn't work for him because he was too tall--it's about 1.5 inches high and he didn't have enough headroom. Swivel seats come in differing heights, so check that out if anyone here is interested in trying one.

Something else you might want to check out is a rigid seat belt extender. The one I linked is for Jeep Cherokees, so do a search for your own car model. This extends the seat belt connector 8 inches up in the air, so now the PWP can connect his own seat belt. Before this, his wife would have to crawl over him to do up the seatbelt.

I'm wondering if anyone has rigged their car up with a seat like this? The whole seat swivels, the lowers down to the ground so the PWP just has to sit down like a regular chair.

the more you drive the less nervous you'll feel. My first year I was a nervous wreck. After a couple years you'll be on autopilot then driving becomes a lot more fun as you learn more and how to take little shortcuts to make driving better.

I suggest whatever you're scared of doing on the road, do as much as you can. I used to be scared taking the highway so I wouldn't. Then I told myself to stop being a bitch and I took it every single day and now I prefer it over normal roads

u/byrdman619 · 1 pointr/Camry

Got my 87' Camry about 9 months ago and blind spot mirrors are hands down the best safety accessory I've ever purchased for it. I know some people aren't really too into them and you might already have some, but if you don't I highly recommend them. They're inexpensive as hell and save you from having to look over your shoulder when switching lanes, especially since newer Camry's have more blind spots than older models.

u/pat0102 · 1 pointr/volt

This is how I installed mine. You can see me taking the picture from the blind spot in the round mirror. It is less useful when it's raining and dark out, but works wonders for most situations.

I do recommend sticking it in the inside upper corner. Other positions actually blocks too much of the original mirror... you need the far side of the stock mirror to judge distance of the car next lane.

I'm not sure how it is on your car those are often held together by these plastic trim fasteners:

https://www.amazon.com/Ginsco-102pcs-Fasteners-Expansion-Replacement/dp/B076BMVZ8R/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1543475436&sr=8-4&keywords=trim+fasteners

They just snap on. Other times they are held by screws. Research your car or look at your other wheel wells and see how they are fastened. Some use screws. If the holes are plastic you could use epoxy to fix the tares. Otherwise if there is a good spot to do so use a couple of self tapping screws to fasten them back.

P3D- all the way. If you don't plan on actually tracking the car (or intend to go like, once or twice), there's honestly no need for performance brakes, performance wheels, and performance suspension. Just leads to more money at replacement time, more pothole potential, and more scraping potential. Stealth gets you the important benefits of Performance for a fraction of the price.

I ordered a P3D- and I have Pedal Covers to take care of all the functional aspects I care about.
