Block out time on your schedule to do follow-ups.

Block out time to study and learn about selling. If you think you're a natural sales person then you're not. The most knowledgeable sales person is the one that understands they know nothing. Many people have an aptitude for sales but not the ability or willingness to learn and grow. The difference between a good sales person and an extraordinary one is someone who is willing to learn and grow. ABL. Always be learning.

Have dedicated office time. Some sales people become very distant from the office because they start and end their day from home. Stay connected with your office staff. Show your face and make sure you don't become that person outside who they never see.

Keep yourself mobile. Always have a laptop and hotspot and some type of mobile office kit. My colleague has a sweet little setup that fits on the passenger seat. I've used a cheap little table that hooks to the steering wheel (for when you're not actually driving).

Your business should have goals and quotas. Track your closing rate. I've had many people that think they're doing well only to discover they're only closing 30% of their leads and it should be 50 to 60% (that will depend on your industry of course). Take some of the office time to figure that out.

Number one mistake people make is they confuse what is urgent with what is important. Dedicate time on your schedule to what is important. Make it part of your office time.

Sorry if I answered more than what you asked but I got on a roll.

EDIT: Added links to the mobile office stuff.

Hilarious customer reviews.

You might enjoy the pictures and user reviews for this little gem on Amazon.

u/riverblue9011 · 6 pointsr/ofcoursethatsathing

I undestand that this would come with a warning and the majority of people that would get one wouldn't use it while driving, but it's always the minority that spoils things, right?

Here's the page

The comments are pretty funny though, worth a read:

>My husband Brad always warns me not to try and update my Facebook page while I'm driving. "You'll hit another pedestrian," he says. "This isn't the Enterprise, there isn't a deflector array." Then along comes a miracle product like this! I can now happily fly at warp speed down the streets of Los Angeles, laptop or mobile device perched right in front of me, so I can keep both eyes right on it AND on the road. It's so much easier to ignore all the frightened screams and annoying honking when you've got Facebook to look at while driving. Thank you, Wheelmate!

>So I was showing a car at work when I open up the trunk to show the customer how much total space they have there was a swastika made of the car blocksThat are typically used to hold your stuff in place while you drive

We bought a VW SUV recently, and I know exactly the blocks you are talking about. For everyone else - they are plastic cargo organizers with velcro on the bottom, that stick to the carpets, and you can arrange them however you want so your groceries or whatever won't slide around in the cargo area. They are very useful. Here is a picture of two of them:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06VVPWSXM/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3

Our car came with 4 of them, and it would be easy to form them in the shape of a swastika. I could easily see how this could be done accidentally too. But given the other information, it probably wasn't an accident.

I use this one from rugged ridge. You basically take out the existing dash tray and replace it with this one. Glasses go right below the phone and fit perfectly. I wear Oakley Holbrooks for reference.

The key is patience, if you can manage a week on a different phone wait a week.

Also Rice is ok, if thats all you've got, but I'd consider buying some silica gel while you wait or for future problems (Something like this). You can dry out and reuse them too.

Remember its not the moisture that screws a device, its moisture+electricity, and rust.

Good luck.

I apologize in advance for this long post. None of these are "must gets", but they are what I got for my 2016 Premium forester. I'm posting this for my own future reference as well as to help some people who are wondering what accessories might be good for their new forester. I highly recommend ordering from Jackie from Annapolis Subaru @ 443-837-1422 as she can get you some good prices on the subaru accessories as well as WeatherTech products! I saved on WeatherTech shipping costs (~$20) by ordering through Jackie and the warranty is the same as if I had bought them through their website.

Please note that some of these accessory links are for my specific car year, model and configuration. I have a 2016 Premium forester without eyesight (affects the Covercraft/heatshield sunshade - they also have eyesight compatible sunshades!).

Also, I personally didn't get my windows tinted, but I think that is something that you should seriously consider doing :)

my gf bought me a car trunk organizer from amazon, it fits a lot of products and can be attached anywhere! for the price it's a great buy. i wouldnt carry it around with a lot of stuff in it as it gets heavy and feels like the bottom is gonna rip out but that's how it is with pretty much every large surface bag.

I have mine suction-cupped to the inside of my windscreen. Easy to remove when I want to remove it, has never fallen off during a ride (and I ride on the craptastic roads in the NYC metro area). Video from yesterday where you can see where I have it mounted: https://youtu.be/-YyTKpG1POQ?t=40

Also, I got it on Amazon for $10: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009Y7MJVS/

u/GoHomePortland · 3 pointsr/raspberry_pi

Here's a photo of the back. I'm using an aftermarket phone holder to hold up the screen and encased pi.

u/GhostOfRuhl · 3 pointsr/motorcycles

Ram actually makes a way more secure mount that lets you mount and retrieve your phone just as quick

(though you'll need to attach the rubber ball to the back, sucks that it doesn't come bundled)

Basically the 2 bottom pegs are fixed in place, the 4 side pegs are adjustable but screwed down to be fixed in place, and the top 2 pegs are spring loaded to maintain constant tension on your phone. Not as cool looking as the X grip but a much more secure product.

Good morning! :D

One of my comfort foods from my childhood is bologna (thin sliced, Boar's Head from the deli counter) with lettuce, tomato, and mayonnaise on a poppy seed roll or hero. Everyone thinks it's a weird combination, and I don't like bologna in any other way.

I also love peanut butter (Peter Pan) sandwiches with raspberry jam and marshmallow fluff!

I would love these for my car because my purse is always flying off the seat!

I get the standard of some housing is poor, but the tenants in many cases deserve a lot of the blame and responsibility for these conditions. Of course landlords have a responsibility to provide functional and safe plumbing, heating, etc. and must ensure there is reasonable insulation and so on; but a lot of these cases look like shocking neglect from the tenants themselves. Many appear to never clean or attempt even the most basic of remedies which are well within their power.

The picture at the top of the article linked above is a prime example. This is something the tenant could fix with a £1 bottle of mold and mildew remover, a cleaning rag and some rubber gloves. This is all stuff you can buy in pound shops and super-markets all over the country for less than a few quid. The tenant (or landlord) might need to need/want to put a dehumidifier to stop the problem coming back if its a recurrent issue, but this is something that should be trivial to fix and is in nearly every case I've ever seen something the tenant could easily have sorted on their own in the short term.

I've lived in a couple of places prone to mold and having terrible insulation in the past. As a tenant I was barely even inconvenienced in managing these issues on my on - I certainty didn't need assistance from my landlord for it.

The shrink wrap comes from Walmart. It's in the office supply areas near tape/rubber bands, etc... It's a blue handle with a 6" shrink wrap roll on it.

I wrap the drinks so that the lid doesn't come off, it take two rounds of wrap to get it to stick. This is the same stuff businesses used to wrap pallets of stuff.

The cargo organizer is kinda like this, but came from Walmart. Sadly, it's cardboard inside and is wearing out, but it was only $19.

I had to cut slices in it with a razor to get the straps to run thru the bottom.

The saddle bags are now very worn, but look like these:

This is a temporary setup, I have the fiberglass to make some new ones, but these work for now.

I don't like the backpack because it's not comfortable over long runs all day long. With this setup, I can go all day long.

Thanks!

Yeah, I got the Brandmotion one. I have the 430N head unit, so I got the package that has the camera that wires into the head unit and comes with the adjustable bracket and the thing that updates the firmware to make the backup camera work. Was pretty simple to install and get set up. I'd suggest getting one of those cheap trim removal kits - it makes the job way easier and you don't risk scratching your plastic trim with a screwdriver.

Something I use every day is the Rugged Ridge cell phone mount kit (https://www.amazon.com/Rugged-Ridge-13551-16-Multi-Mount-Phone/dp/B00ONDM07G) - works well for the phone (sideways) and I can mount my GoPro for trail rides at the same time.

I use that mount. You'll have to buy the ram ball, Clamps, and u bolt mount or whatever you want to use separately. But the phone mount is awesome! The top is spring loaded and hooks on the phone. It's super secure. Don't use the x mount, they're okay for in the car but not good for a motorcycle. With the one above there is no way it can fall out, but it's also quick to insert your phone into it, and take it out. If you're interested I can try to take a photo of mine with my phone in it, the Amazon photo doesn't do it justice.

I got a couple of different sizes of totes to use, that way they're easy to remove and store if I need more cargo space, or I can move them to the back seat, and so on.

For the stuff that always lives in the car, I got this velcro-bottomed tote and I keep one full of stuff, and the other folded flat behind it for grab-and-go. The velcro sticks REALLY well and it goes nowhere. Unfortunately this exact one seems discontinued, but there should be similar ones available.

For groceries and errands and such, I have this basket with handles. I usually keep this basket in the house, toss "things to go to the car" in it, then take it with me for errands. It stays in place pretty well, and I re-inforce that by using a small carabiner to clip it to one of the side rings in the cargo area. Great for dropping multiple grocery bags and shopping bags in to keep in one place, then carry inside in one trip.

And finally for the bigger things that don't fit in totes, I have these cargo blocks which store nicely in that first velcro tote, and then stick to the floor of the cargo area to hold larger boxes and items in place so they don't slide all over. (Had a set of these with a VW a number of years ago, they were the only thing I missed about that VW so I bought a set for my Impreza when I got it.)

Reminds me of the reviews for AutoExec Wheelmate Steering Wheel Attachable Work Surface Tray. I wish they still allowed pictures.

Just a phone? Pfft, amateur...

I've been using these. I use them to keep sweaters, hats, etc for my 16 convertible along with misc detailing supplies.

Drivers are, however, doing all of the following - and I have a hard time believing any of them are accidental:

  • Texting
  • Eating
  • Talking on the phone (hands-free only helps if you're changing gear; otherwise, does not change the level of distraction)
  • Doing their makeup
  • Messing with their kids in the back seat
  • Fiddling with the radio (I'm looking at you, touch screen head units)
  • Reading a book/using their laptop

The list goes on. Don't do these things and, magically, you're a lot more careful.

X Grip is great, but you still aren't supposed to use it for motorcycles, even though I use it exclusively on my motorcycle.

Now THIS guy is what you should be using, but I had to get an x grip because my 6P is too fucking big.

Check out the reviews on this badboy

This should be a purchasable item that allows you to use your notepad while on autopilot.

I used these vibration dampers between my spring-loaded RAM phone holder and the diamond-shaped ball adapter plate. It worked pretty well for a 7,000 mile trip I took on an Africa Twin last summer (mostly paved, some dirt and off-road), although I did end up having the phone replaced due to recurring dust spots on the camera. I really just try to limit how often I mount the phone there, and use a Garmin nüvi for navigation.

I have this for my lower trunk storage space. Fits well and much cheaper that ones made specifically for the Model 3. $16.99 plus 5% savings coupon.

Still if you need one

it's a bit floppier in person but when you put things in there it doesn't collapse. Kept my watermelon safe

I use this trunk organizer to hold most of my stuff and I keep my hiking boots, climbing shoes, and approach shoes in a milk crate. I use another milk crate to hold all my cleaning/detailing supplies. With the trunk organizer and the two milk crates, I still have plenty of space for groceries/shopping bags or whatever else I might need to throw in the the trunk.

I see your terrible product, and raise you the steering wheel laptop table

Find a way to mount a RAM ball to the bike. I like this guy personally.

After that, get something to hold your phone that works with a RAM mount. The X-Grip is super popular, however, I did a lot of research before buying and read loads of reviews from people who lost their phone on the highway, or had the thing twisting and turning every which way, and so on. Many people use it and seem happy with it but it's a big YMMV situation, and it made me shy on that product.

While I can't say for certain if the problems I read about the X-Grip are true, I can tell you that after a legit 60,000 miles with 2 different phones mounted in [THIS] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088LL7UA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage) mount, at a combination of city and highway, into potholes and over speed bumps, not once has my phone ever even wiggled. I have the utmost confidence in this thing. The only caveat is that you should use a TPU or hybrid style case because this is just hard plastic, so have something to save you from scratches and so on.

To go along with it you will need one of these for the back of the phone holder. You will also need a RAM arm, I use (and prefer) a 3 inch arm but they make 6 inch and other more complicated contraptions if that doesn't do it for you.

It's not exactly cheap. At the moment, from Amazon, that will cost you about $43 shipped (edit: before tax). However, I will say that this is exact setup has never failed me in 60,000 miles spread between multiple motorcycles and with 2 different phones of decent size. For your reference, those phones were a Galaxy S5 in an Otterbox Commuter and a Sony Xperia Z3+ in a clear Spidgen case. The mount does have room to grow a bit bigger than these if you need it, but not by a lot.

Good luck and happy riding! =)

Edit: Forgot to offer to take pics of the setup on my bike. If you wanna see it all together first, I can do that, just drop a reply.

My '17 EX has the 2nd row buckets and came with the Ford floor liners and the grooves in them are deep enough for the gunk I bring into the vehicle. I normally buy Weathertech's, but I'm happy with what I have.

I don't recall if the third row has floor liners or not as I don't use the third row, so it's always stowed. I didn't get a cargo liner either, but I did get myself one of these, plus I have a square milk crate that I keep in the back, and the included cargo net is good at keeping things from falling out when I open the back.

u/licecrispies · 1 pointr/deliverydrivers

This is the one I bought on Amazon. I like how it can be secured in place, so stuff doesn't go flying if I have to slam the brakes.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0088LL7UA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Skip the X-grip mount, it's more expensive than the Ram mount specifically made to not let go of a phone at speed. I also picked up the ball mount that replaces a handlebar clamp bolt, and I run the phone mount there if I'm going to do it.

Keep in mind that if your phone has optical image stabilization built into the camera, it's likely a bad idea to mount it to the bike. Lots of reports of folks having borked cameras from the vibrations.

u/showersnacks · 1 pointr/VEDC

I got it off amazon. It was about $24

u/FranticWifey · 1 pointr/LifeProTips

Having a husband who has delivered for a dry cleaner I can tell you they make racks designed for this purpose for delivery vehicles. I would not recommended a shower curtain rod as they are not designed to hold weight like that. Get in touch with a local dry cleaner or maybe try amazon. Also the problem with the shower curtain rod is that they will only stay up if the doors are closed. I do second the covering tip though. The sun will bleach the clothes in the long term.

I use an expandable cargo-crate paired with a pet barrier.

The cargo-crate allows me to store loose items, or things that might otherwise tumble and roll around in the car in. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ECMRFTA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

The pet barrier allows me to attach small things as well as stack items higher up without worrying that it'll spill into the rear passenger area. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0040Q8ZM0/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

I have a rear cargo-net as well, but I find that I rarely use it over the cargo-crate. (https://www.hondapartworld.com/cr-v-accessories/cr-v-interior/623_08L96-SWA-100)

I've been thinking about doing the rolling toolbox thing.

But for now, a trunk organizer inside of a tote with canvas bags helps a lot.

This - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071L4J43Q/

Fits exactly into this - https://www.target.com/p/sterilite-15gal-industrial-tote-black-with-yellow-lid-and-latches/-/A-53335913

With these for small items - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LGNAIA6/

The trunk organizer helps more than I expected and the box is less full and easier to navigate with the same amount of stuff.

I've had two of these organizers strapped against the back seats since August and really like them. Easy to load and unload using the included handles and they have lots of pockets and several different possible configurations.

If you liked that, you'll love the Steering Wheel Desk Reviews:

> 4 out of 5 stars Not so good as baby changing table

> I read some 4 and 5 star reviews by those who used this device successfully to change a baby while driving. On that basis, I bought one. I put my baby on it and drove for over an hour. It did not change. Same baby. I am glad it worked for some people but I will be returning mine. (The steering wheel desk.)

Having the same situation on my 2012 Xterra X. bought myself one of those cargo carrier jobbies http://amzn.com/B00SUTHIVM and it's been doing the job of containment but now the entire bin is sliding around and it's annoying as hell.
