I searched around and couldn't find a damn thing on how to replace your wiper blades with non-OEM blades. I, like most of you, noticed that the OEM wiper blades kinda, well, suck. So I picked up some silicone wiper blades from amazon that I've used with great success in the past. I thought I was out of luck when all the adapters seem to not fit, but I figured what the hell and just started cutting plastic off the one that matched the OEM adapter.

TL;DR Buy silicone wiper blades and cut the plastic off the wiper blade adapter until it fits like OEM.

Yeah. The best I’ve found is the Bosch aerotwin set.

My dude, here are the wiper blades, all Bosch:

Fronts: [EDIT: The previous ones I had listed were for a Fiat 500 which is my girlfriend's car. Will update the correct part numbers here soon.]

The Bosch Icons are the 26OE and 18OE sizes, according to Autozone and the BOSCH site, although Amazon says they don't fit lol. https://imgur.com/a/4eyf0SU

They all fit perfectly on the MK7 GTI. You can order the actual OEM wiper blades but they're not common in the USA (the OEM wipers are Bosch but some sort of European variant of the Icons). The Icons though are perfect IMHO.

Get these: PIAA 97065 Si-Tech Silicone Wiper Blade - 26" 650mm (Pack of 1) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004BT6N8Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_wR.VBb9FYM829

I put them on both of my vehicles, really quiet and clean wiping. Silicone is a much better material than the standard rubber that other wiper blades are made of.

Page 295 of the 2014 manual (version 3):

WW-2802 (driver side) /
WW-2803 (passenger side)

If you had a hatch, your blade part number would be WW-1204. If you have a 2015 hatch the two front blades are the same model, the hatch model is WW-1295.

Those are Motorcraft part numbers.

Amazon will sell you the driver side blade for $12.10 with free shipping, http://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-WW-2802-Wiper-Blade/dp/B0080DVLJ8/

the passenger side for $14.76 with free shipping, http://www.amazon.com/Motorcraft-WW-2803-Wiper-Blade/dp/B0080DVMJ2/

I swapped mine for Rain-X and it is a huge difference. The stock wipers are a slight, very gentle suggestion towards precipitation to leave your windshield.

These blades are my personal favorite. I live in az where the sun destroys wiper blades and these protect from sun damage as well as being an amazing blade. they're pricey but last a long time. i checked to make sure they fit ur vehicle too. driver side
passenger side
The ones you picked are good too though. idk where you live so its up to you if the bosch blades I picked are worth it for you.

u/work-account2 · 2 pointsr/thereifixedit

I drive a (old) Mercedes and even the super nice OEM Bosch wipers come out to around $30 for a pair, same wipers in the 100K plus AMG cars. This guy has just never bought wipers.

Go Motorcraft, they really make the best wipers. Just read the many reviews of Motorcraft blades ... "should've gotten it to begin with" blah blah blah.

Thanks for posting. It's great to see feedback like this from real owners.

Regarding the windshield wipers, I generally always replace the stock wipers with silicone wiper blades. I've had good luck with SilBlades but the PIAA Silicone Blades are supposed to be even better. I can't stand regular rubber blades anymore.

u/iceraven101 · 2 pointsr/TeslaLounge

You can buy the same PiAA wipers off amazon and dremel the clips to fit. I would use the cravenspeed instructions to make sure you’re using the right adapters.

These are some alternatives

1- I got these from my dealership, they are "ok":

https://fdflex.com/en/.

2- Apparently these fit according to the forum and can be purchased from rock-auto:

TRICO 1817B (18-17B) Pass Side Wiper Blade
TRICO 2417B (24-17B) Driver Side Wiper Blade

3 - I also read that these will fit as well, though I'm not 100% sure and they are more expensive as they are silicone

Did not get any results when looking for that.

I just went ahead and bought the OEM blade for $13 as there is rain in the forecast in the next couple days.

These work great it's what I have for the front, I haven't changed out the rear as I haven't got to it yet.

u/macgyver2484 · 2 pointsr/Cartalk

Sure. Link below. The page says 2X longer life, but they're being modest which is very rare for a company. Usually it's the other way around where they're outright lying about how long something lasts. If they start to drag or streak, simply clean the silicone with rubbing alcohol.

I changed mine for at 2015 Fix EX. The rear blade is non-standard. It sucks too since i couldn't find a "beam-style" wiper blade that would fit 😠

Anyway, I got mine from Amazon. Just filter by your car and you should be able to find it. Here's a link to the specific one I used:

Both the missus and I have MK6 models and have found the below to be really good.

Bosch Aerotwin 3397118979 Original Equipment Replacement Wiper Blade - 24"/19" (Set of 2) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002G47GE6?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

u/pinellaspete · 1 pointr/volt

Yes, you are correct. Only the SiTech model PIAA blades fit the Volt. These are really nice wipers. I've been using them for the past 5 years on all my cars.

You need two 26" blades for the Volt. You need to pop off the adapter the comes attached to the blade and install the one that fits the Volt. You can buy them on Amazon here: PIAA 97065 Si-Tech Silicone Wiper Blade - 26" 650mm (Pack of 1)

I use Bosch Icon 24 inch for the front and Bosch 11 inch regular on the rear it seems to work great in any weather including snow.

Hello friend! Get the style blade where everything is molded into rubber, like this: http://www.amazon.com/Rain-X-5079281-1-Latitude-Wiper-Blade/dp/B00FRHOO9O/ref=zg_bs_15734861_1/179-3929043-8265606

Replace them at least once a year.

Next up, this wiper fluid: http://mobile.walmart.com/ip/Rain-X-All-Season-2-in-1-Windshield-Washer-Fluid/17179630

Enjoy better visibility!

u/Granite_State · 1 pointr/auto

Beam style blades last significantly longer than the traditional frame type in ice and snow climates. They also more aerodynamic and have less tenancy to chatter at highway speeds.

The Rain-X brand is decently priced.

u/AwesomelyHumble · 1 pointr/accord

I got the PIAA silicone wiper blades for my 2015 4Runner and now I swear by them. Definitely nicer than the stock rubber blades, and I just ordered some for my 2018 Accord. That's my recommendation.

You'll need a 16" (passenger side) and 18" (driver side).

$85 for which model?!

e90 blades $49

u/72_hairy_virgins · 1 pointr/MechanicAdvice

$90 for 3 wiper blades, you can get them for $18/pop (not your car's blade, just random example) and replacing them is way easy. If you can screw in a light bulb you can do that.

The other items are also ridiculous.

u/risfun · 1 pointr/COROLLA

I've been using Aero beam wipers from Amazon for my '13 Corolla. Just bought a set. They've served me well.

Also helps to wash the windshield thoroughly now and then. Here's a link https://youtu.be/p4TBR7TRGJc

u/thisonewillbeforgete · 1 pointr/cars

First, are you using wiper blades that are the same OEM part that came with the car? It's sometimes best to have the factory-fit of the specific OEM wiper rather than aftermarket (such as rain-X, other auto parts store brand wiper). https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-3397118979-Original-Equipment-Replacement/dp/B002G47GE6

Next your windshield might be dirty. Clean it, and use a clay bar and lube and wipe it over the entire windshield to get all the contaminants. Clay bars get all the contaminants out that you couldn't by just washing.

You could make your windshield a little slicker by spraying Rain-X on it regularly, or also by waxing it.

Also you can "recharge" your rubber wiper blades, if they are still in good shape, by getting a scotch brite pad and scraping some of the old rubber from the wiper.

I believe the Mk6 OE wiper blades will fit:
