You absolutely must try Sensoril. I say this as someone who has ADHD inattentive type and bipolar disorder, and am on medication that literally makes me call hotsauce a hotdog and the couch in the living room a bench (lamotrigine).

Sensoril is amazing. Also, keep up on your water intake. Oh, and Sensoril is not KSM-66, they are different formulations. A study of Sensoril for improved cognition literally showed like a 30% increase in cognitive performance on certain tests. Google "sensoril cognition bipolar disorder study" and it should come up within a page or two (it's a bit hidden). I started taking Sensoril when I read about it in the book "Bipolar, Not So Much" by Drs. Aiken and Phelps, M.D., world leaders in the study of bipolar disorders, so they felt confident enough to put it in there by name.

Oh, and it's really inexpensive, too.

I take this https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OESOL4/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No idea if this is safe for you, but it works for me. Only side effects are if I take too much Ash it can cause itching. I've also gotten a bottle of it before (different brand) that made me itchy as fuck.

If anyone out there has suggestions or improvements, happy to take them!

Edit: I forgot the best side effect of this stack: my cum is fucking massive. Every single fucking day. Easily 4x what it was before. Sometimes if I go a 3 days without cumming you need to grab a towel, not a rag. Fuck the old dribbly small amounts that clumped together before, I can shoot this shit everywhere and it has great viscosity for full facials.
u/vaanjie · 4 pointsr/PMDD

I use the app Flo in order to track my PMDD and take HTP-5 and ashwagandha root capsules during those two weeks. I feel like they help my cravings, anxiety, and depression. I have been prescribed Prozac for depression and anxiety since I was 13, and I make sure not to forget taking it (my dosage remains the same).

At night I have trouble falling asleep, so I take these magnesium supplements a few hours before bedtime. I also try to meditate for at least 5 minutes every night using the app Insight Timer. It helps me with impulse control and not overreacting to things. All of this took many years to figure out. I hope you find something that brings relief!

EDIT: I didn't know there were any possible reactions of HTP-5 and antidepressants, but apparently the main warning for supplements containing 5HTP is “do not consume if you’re taking antidepressant drugs.” It can lead to serotonin syndrome.

I'm going to stop taking HTP-5 for now and just take the ashwagandha root supplements, which don't seem to have negative interactions with antidepressants. Let me know if I'm wrong.

> do you grow your own bacopa?

Nah, although there are some varieties of Water hyssop that grow where I am (not B. monnieri). I buy leaf powder on amazon.

>that's what's so amazing about kratom, how far from a placebo it is.

Indeed, it is an intense medicine. That's why I personally like to use it as sparingly as possible. It helps me keep efficacy up and side effects down. One of my favorite herbs though, no doubt.

Also, coffee makes me jittery as shit, but a good tea doesn't do that as much. I am pretty sure it's more than just the caffeine in green (or black) tea that makes me good for an energy boost and attention, but I am not positive.

I picked up this one from Amazon. Absolutely love it.

u/bitchgotmyhoney · 2 pointsr/Nootropics

H&C Bacopa Powder (https://www.amazon.com/Natural-Brahmi-Powder-Bacopa-Monnieri/dp/B01HQH4TVK/ref=sr_1_2_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1493751931&sr=1-2&keywords=bacopa+monnieri+powder)

I take less than half of a teaspoon and mix it into a standard watterbottle sized breakfast shake that contains ground flax, chia, walnuts, almonds, cashews, oatmeal, water, and yogurt. I also put in centrophenoxine, uridine monophosphate, and lionsmane powder in there, and apart from the shake usually drink less than a quarter cup of coffee with milk, so there is probably some synergy there. But I have only started to feel the "high" feeling I get when I smoke sativa only after I started putting in the bacopa powder, which I began doing almost a week ago.

What about this brand I bought:

These VitaVibe stallbar are the cheapest I could find at 210$. I didn't buy them in the end so I can't say much about the quality.

Sofia Venanzetti, a contortionist I follow, got 3B Scientific Eucalyptus Wood Stall Bar and loves them. They cost 200$ right now (but were more expensive when I was looking at them months ago), but the reviews were a bit negative because they might be hard to put together.

I ended getting a set made for me by my SO. He had equipment available to him in a local hackerspace for free, and the materials were much cheaper than 200$.

For DIY bars, here's a dump of info I collected, on which he based his work:

Here's another idea to actually treat the problem. It worked wonders for me. You can get an idea how this works here: https://sidekicktool.com/ But it's a week for them to deliver. Search for Gua Sha on Amazon to get a similar tool delivered ASAP. You'll need a muscle balm to go with it. I bought this after the one from Sidekick ran out: https://www.amazon.com/Banyan-Botanicals-Muscle-Balm-Ashwagandha/dp/B073D9DDSB I use this every couple of days. Since you are just recovering do this daily and you'll notice a huge difference.

Take the recommended 3 capsules. I take first thing in the morning with water. Alongside my normal pills, krill oil, boron, milk thistle.

Thanks! Nootropics depot has 300 mg one. But Amazon has this which is 1300mg. Seems way too much.

u/gurrke23 · 1 pointr/Supplements

I've actually experienced insomnia as well. I thought it was the ZMA at first, maybe I actually took the Ash closer to the evening. Haven't had it since I laid off the ZMA though.

I'm taking BIO Ksm-66 by brainpower Nootropics. Too expensive though, I'll try to somehow get my hands on this one though (https://www.amazon.com/Ashwagandha-Organic-Cortisol-Supplements-Capsules/dp/B079NMSPBW), sadly it doesn't ship to GER.

I have been taking Ashwagandha - they also have a black pepper extract. I got them from Amazon. I have also been taking a b12 supplement. I have been feeling better and better, closer and closer to normal.

Is the Ashwagandha 1300mg a night? This brand on Amazon decent?

Also have you noticed anything with sex drive with Lion's Mane? Heard it kind of kills it.

u/katrinivini · 1 pointr/AskDocs

I hope this isn't too late. I had palpitations as well. I'd have trouble breathing, for like an hour or so, then my heart would start racing all of a sudden and I'd feel my chest open up. I did have low iron and magnesium, though. After repeated visits to the ER the doctors finally caught one episode of my palpitations and they diagnosed me with SVT. I'm not sure that's what you have, if your heartbeat suddenly jumps to 200 bpm like mine did it might be.

I'm sorry that nothing works, that really sucks. I don't feel the palpitations as much, just junctional escape rhythms (which they say are benign and have nothing to do with the SVT episodes), and my breathing issues are not entirely solved. I can relate to how frustrating and destabilizing it is to have nothing work after trying everything.

Another thing you mentioned was heartburn, have you been diagnosed with acid reflux?

And the thing I would recommend to try, when you have the palpitations, is resveratrol. I used to take a rescue inhaler that gave me horrible tachycardia, and resveratrol helped me control my heart rate; it also attenuates tachycardia, so you get them less often over time. You can take it preventatively, I would suggest something from Thorne or Paradise herbs, or Solaray. I also take amla from one of those brands. It has a lot of heart benefits

To soothe the esophageal lining, you can take DGL chewable tablets, and then take chewable digestive enzymes after you eat for every meal.

The things I'm taking are pretty safe and don't normally cause complications, but with anything do your own research and see if it's for you.

I hope you find the cause soon.

> ksm-66 300mg

Interesting. It's an herb that's been used for hundreds of years or thousands, I think, for the same basic reasons, but if that particular patent has been proven to work, it makes sense to use it. 1000mg for me seems to have made me a little nervous at first, then distracted and procrastinating. I didn't accomplish shit all day and took a nap earler. I plan to stay up all night doing what I did not accomplish today. I probably will not be taking this tomorrow. If I take it again, I'll take 1 pill instead of the recommended 2.

This is the brand I got:

I told ya, I don't go in depth with those things. I just find the cheapest because my financial status is kinda bad atm.

Either way, a recipe can be changed to your taste. Find what works for you. Experiment with dosages and different noots to find what works for you, because everyone's brain chemistry is different. What may work for me, may not work for you. That's the point with biohacking: experimenting. Isn't it ?

I took 400mg and still fell asleep

i also remember hbefore i had taken bacopa pills that were 500mg each and i took two, and now when i tried again i'm getting a powder version. taking any dose of this not only makes me tired but it doesn't give me teh nice smell that i had gotten from the pills

before (couple years ago) i had taken this now i'm taking this

i tried a smaller dose but it's just making me tired and sleepy compared to how i usually am, and i'm taking 400mg which is small small dose

do you mean recommended dose as in larger? like i should take more?

people on here keep saying it'll work and i want to give it a shot and see what happens but if i stop taking it i'l stop being so sleepy and tired and depressed. it's not working for me

Hi Julie,

It took me over a year to alleviate most of my constipation but all the above definitely helped.

-Slippery Elm - 1 Capsule 2x a day - taken between meals. Good for calming inflammation in stomach and helps repair and coat the stomach lining. Also helps with constipation and diarrhea. Makes a big difference on settling down stomach and soothing stomach pains. It can lower blood pressure.
https://www.amazon.com/Foods-Slippery-400mg-Capsules-100-Count/dp/B010VOZ2MK/ref=sr_1_6_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1529628232&sr=1-6&keywords=slippery+elm

-Psyllium Husk - 1 Capsule 2x a day (for moderate to severe constipation) - taken between meals. A gentle insoluble fiber and really does a good job of moving things along.
https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Psyllium-Husk-500-Capsules/dp/B0013OW2KS/ref=sr_1_4_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1542294329&sr=1-4&keywords=psylium%2Bhusk&th=1

-Marshmallow Root - 1 capsule 2x a day - taken between meals. Similar to Slippery Elm benefits. Very good for stomach lining. It can lower blood pressure.

-Magnesium Oil Spray - Good for calming the body and for aiding digestion. I do 6-8 sprays on my stomach and chest before bed. Helps constipation and aid digestion.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CKEBFSE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

-Triphala - Generally good for digestion. Helps fight H Pylori and helps with Detoxification. I take 1/8 to 1/4th tsp every night. Mixes in water.
https://www.amazon.com/Banyan-Botanicals-Triphala-Powder-Detoxification/dp/B005EIK9Z4/ref=sr_1_7_s_it?s=hpc&ie=UTF8&qid=1529707176&sr=1-7&keywords=triphala&th=1

Probiotics

-----------------

They've been pivotal in restoring more balance to my stomach, digestion, and overall health.

I've resolved on taking three different probiotic products because variety can help crowd out H Pylori and heal your stomach overall.

-Custom Probiotics - 11 Strain Probiotic Powder - 100 Gram
It seems expensive but it's super cost efficient and lasted me about year which is amazing.
For dosage, I only use the small plastic spoon that it comes with because the standard dosage of "260 billion" per day seems a little too intense to me.
I started with taking 25 billion (one small plastic spoonful) per day mixed in water. Stomach upset and gas is normal at the beginning stages so starting small helps your stomach get acclimated to the new strains.
I'm up to 100 billion per day (4 small plastic spoonful) now, 30 minutes to 1 hour before a meal.
https://www.customprobiotics.com/custom-probiotics-11-strain.htm

-Renew Life Extra Care Probiotic - Ultimate Flora - 150 billion - 30 Capsules
This probiotic is amazing for adding tremendous amount of variety to the strains in your stomach. It also contains "L Reuteri" which is effective in reducing and suppressing H Pylori.
Whenever I start a new bottle, I start with approximately 1/4 capsule (I open up the capsule and pour some it's contents in water) for the first week and move up to 1/2 capsule till the end of the bottle. Makes it last longer and because I'm already supplementing with another probiotic.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00IN7867Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

-Bronson Saccharomyces Boulardii - 20 Billion - 180 capsules
Good for restoring balance to gut biome. I start out with half a capsule (approx 5 billion) in water at mealtime, once per day.
https://www.amazon.com/Bronson-Saccharomyces-Boulardii-Clinically-Vegetarian/dp/B01DWMC794/ref=sr_1_5_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1529676374&sr=8-5&keywords=bronson+saccharomyces+boulardii+probiotic

--------------------------------

Timing of Probiotics

-----------------

This was a super tricky thing to figure out. A lot of conflicting reports on what time you should take it, with food, without food, at bedtime, or first thing in the morning.

Here's the best two times that have worked for me. I go back and forth to accommodate schedule changes if need be:

  1. 30 Minutes Before Breakfast - Custom Probiotics and Renew Life mixed in water.
Take S Boulardii with other food enzymes. Make sure to take herbal antibiotics at another meal time.

  2. 30 Minutes Before Dinner - Custom Probiotics and Renew Life mixed in water.
S Boulardii with other food enzymes. Make sure to take herbal antibiotics at another meal time.
