This isn't mine, I took it from here. The title is

> A piece of art at the office- displays the live ticker tape headlines, thrown into the trash

which I guess suggests that it's accidental. The news thing is actually available to buy, so that's plausible, but I can't see a $500 dollar item being thrown in the trash, especially when still on so this might just be an art piece by the original poster

i use an Osprey Cyber Daypack for both work and school. it's incredibly durable and has lots of well thought out pockets. plus it's not too flashy, which i appreciate. link

Osprey er også et lækkert mærke.

I didnt know they even made them. After searching amazon, ebay and google I cant find it for sale anywhere.

The only bag that I could find that relates to mirrors edge and is still for sale is this: https://www.amazon.com/musterbrand-Mirrors-Edge-Catalyst-Backpack/dp/B01E9PQF5U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466826675&sr=8-1&keywords=mirrors+edge+bag

But this is far from the yellow runners bag :P

I just got this one off Amazon. I will say its slightly too big. It doesnt tighten enough around him but it doesnt slip off either. Honestly, I was prepared to get disapproving stares but a lot of people smiled and commented on how adorable he was with it. It's been a life saver because he doesnt want to be in the stroller anymore. And hes been much more well behaved while out!

Bradley Mountain makes a lot of similar looking packs. Waxed canvas and whatnot. Very pricey, though. Search for waxed canvas backpack on Amazon. I'm sure you'll find something similar with decent reviews in the $20-50 range.

Edit: "Waxed Canvas Rucksack" brought back a bunch of results in Amazon. This one is cheap and got good reviews... https://www.amazon.com/Hynes-Eagle-Designer-Canvas-Backpack/dp/B00K4TGJ6G/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1487257526&sr=8-3&keywords=waxed+canvas+rucksack

Can't you buy something like this and use that to carry your food? I don't know anything about it, but it had 4.5 stars with a lot of reviews and was fairly inexpensive. I'd make a lot of food that was good cold.

Also, do you go back to a central location at any point during the day or are you out from the beginning to the end? Could you store food in a larger cooler or a fridge that you stop at once a day so you didn't have to carry all of your food with you all day? If not, I would recommend finding something lightweight to package the food in. Carrying 5lbs of tupperware containers would be a pain.

You should look into what backpackers do. Here is an article about carrying food while backpacking. They normally aren't planning on carrying ice and are going for multiple days, so you could switch out a lot of the dried backpacker focused food for more fresh stuff, but keep the same ideals in mind when planning what you'll be carrying.

I like carrying the most basic of Jansport packs (simpler than the one you have linked) for dayhikes and to work everyday.

With the logo seam ripped, its really plain and stylish IMHO.

EDIT: My wife has owned this pack for the last 15 years and its been replaced for free by Jansport when a zipper broke. It's the one I use now (KISS in the UL, duders):

I'm not the guy you're asking, but I keep all my shit for work in a backpack. Much easier to sling a strap over my shoulder than to carry a briefcase. It's also nice because it has room for books that I can pop out and go hide with if work is slow. Super functional.

Okay, here we go. But first I have to say, I don’t know /u/overlyapologeticguy very well, but every time I see his posts they a) make me smile and b) want to be a better person. So I feel like he deserves everything and more! I hope to get to know him better on the thread :) (This does not mean I won’t go weird with the suggestions!)

As a woman who normally carries a purse, I don't do it on big trips. For flights I put everything in my carry on (which is a backpack), with super important stuff - money & passport - in a belt pouch. Once I get where I am going, I unfold my travel daypack and keep the extra things in it - medicine, sunglasses, rainjacket, etc. - with some room left for souvenirs.

not crazy about this one, but haven't found a better one.

Mostly it's about efficient carrying. I can't carry a backpack and a purse without feeling like a pack mule. I used to do this, but I'm done with it. I like ONE bag.

Edit: want to add to this... I also bring one pair of slip-on shoes and one pair of good walking shoes. The slip-ons are what I wear while flying (good for getting through security where you have to take your shoes off and good for easily taking off your shoes on a long flight). They are also nice for when I want to dress up a little (I don't bring a lot of super dressy stuff, but I mean like casual rather than hiking). But then they are not comfy enough for long distance walking, so I bring my running shoes for that.

Looking for a similar backpack to this. Any suggestions?

u/tvolosyn · 2 pointsr/stevenuniverse

Thanks!! I got the backpack on amazon but it says its not available right now, which is odd. Cheeseburger Backpack

I made the shield from this foam board i found at home depot. I cut the edges off to make it round, then use a sand paper to give the shield the rounded edges. its SUPER light, which is so nice.

Gonna piggyback on your comment to plug another Osprey. I'm really happy with my [Osprey Nebula] (https://www.amazon.com/Osprey-845136043077-P-Packs-Cyber-Daypack/dp/B01I2P4RJO/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&dpID=81BM%2BLxcbbL&dpPl=1&refRID=VJSN81GV80FMCPK8HRDC&ref_=pd_aw_sim_468_3) which I got this spring after my north face started to fall apart. I often carry at least two to very large hardback A&P books and an old laptop. The organizer pocket is wonderful for all of my notecards, and the stash pocket is a great place to keep snacks.

I got this as a daypack a few years ago but it’s been my go to for my camera gear lately. https://www.amazon.com/CamelBak-M-U-L-Antidote-Hydration-Backpack/dp/B017MGP1I0

I'm hunting for a new backpack, preferably made of waxed canvas.

I've found a bunch of cheaper canvas backpacks with the right style on Amazon. Sadly, the majority of the comments share the same point that it has cheap stitching, or that the clasp are flimsy and are easy to break.

Does anyone know of a place to buy a backpack with a similar/identical style but are in a better quality? I'd like one that can last me for a long time.

Thanks!

Try a smaller bag.

My son wears one of these. I think the fact that it visibly looks different and smaller than a full backpack sets people at ease.

We got a regular harness and also a backpack harness for our 19-month-old. He wears his backpack to walk into daycare and knows that means we're going somewhere. We used it when we went to Disney in December, and when we went to the zoo in September, and both went really well. We both prefer to hold his hand but being a toddler he's still inclined to drop hand and run, so having that tether helped a ton.

Lots of people have that "Oh my god, why would you put your child on a leash! It's not a dog!" Screw the haters, it means my kid is never more than three feet from me in a crowded place.

u/AyeAyeCaptain · 1 pointr/Parenting

We bought a Skip Hop Little Kid backpack backpack. It's made of canvas material, and we've crammed in construction size paper (I'd imagine a folder would fit too), a toddler size towel, sheet & blanket, change of clothes, two small containers of food and a dolly. We've had it for a year and a half and see it lasting a couple more years.

If you're concerned about the size, size up one. That should last your child for the next 3 years.

Get a cooler that looks like a backpack. This one holds over a case.

The most useful thing you can get when it comes to travel is a collapsable, stuff sack travel backpack. I had one when I was backpacking in Europe a couple summers ago and it was the greatest. I could dump my travel sack off at the hostels and just put a few things that I needed to carry around in the backpack. It was extremely helpful. I think I got mine at Walmart, actually, for $5 but this one on Amazon looks like it's way better quality.

I also recommend adding some Ritter chocolate if you haven't had it. It's German and it's the best. It's seriously the only chocolate I eat. it's fantastic. And it comes in a ton of different types.

u/kairiserene · 1 pointr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

I found this version of your backpack

Can I get a giftcard if I win? =)

Edit:

I also found this little guy in case you wanted something different!

That's a nice bag.

I actually ended up getting an Osprey Daylite bag.

http://www.amazon.com/Osprey-234900-345-P-Daylite-Backpack/dp/B00AOIC664

It fits my badge, keys, battery pack, surface pro in a sleeve, charger, usb hub, keyboard and mouse and some pens and pads.
