Thanks! It's the Trixie natural living wheel on Amazon - fingers crossed it will be put to good use! https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trixie-Natural-Living-Exercise-Diameter/dp/B0057FZ9AO
You cannot reinforce fear, so please don't be afraid to comfort your terrified dog.
I have found the combo of Quiet Moments soft chews and Adaptil spray or collars to be extremely helpful.
So sorry for your loss. They sell breakaway collars that come apart to prevent things like this from happening. Don't blame yourself OP, you probably gave her the best days of her life.
I made frozen "ice cream" for my husky. It's just greek yogurt (my picky dog does not like regular yogurt) and peanut butter mixed together and frozen in an ice cube trey. You can add a smooshed banana and other fruits as well. I also got my dog a cooling collar like this one http://www.amazon.com/Kool-Collar-Medium-Blue-tube/dp/B00261NA58/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1412736518&sr=8-2&keywords=ice+collar+dog
This is more for keeping track of them at night? Something wide-angle and diffuse would be best. Examples:
Some of these are actually dog collar lights. Don't tell the children or the spouse that

Decided to do something a little different. This is the first video of this type I've made.

Don't force her into the crate. That will only make the fear worse. If you need to leave, give lots and lots of high value treats, and a stuffed toy frozen with something high value.
Is she still scared of the crate if you move it to a different room? Sometimes this can sort of reset something for a dog.
I would make most of the good things in her life happen in the crate. Put her meals in the crate, put a Kong with yummy goodness in the crate. Leave the door open until she is willingly going in and not running right back out when given treats. Look into crate games, those are helpful too.
I would also recommend dtap collars, the adaptl ones are best. They also make a scent diffuser you can put next to the crate. these do take about 30 days to kick in. Other calming aids can also be helpful, I've had the best luck with rescue remedy. Some dogs also react very well to thunder vests. Once your dog is calmer in general you could potentially start working on desensitization to thunder/loud noises.
If you're American, expect tomorrow (and potentially tonight and the rest of the week depending on local fireworks laws) to be rough as well.
It's a wodent wheel. Same with the green one in there. Unfortunately, they are only available online, but they are fantastic wheels. Don't make a peep, easy to clean, solid floor, covered sides, come in tons of colors. Depending on where you look, you might be able to find them for decently cheap. I think I got the red one for $13 total, but it's been a while. The size my girls are using is 11", but the 8" would work well for mice too. Trixie wheels are also very similar in style.
By the way, the clips to hold the wheels up in your cage are genius! I'm totally going to steal that idea for future.
My dogs wear these rope collars around the house so they always have ID tags on them. You can't attach a leash so I just switch them to a regular collar (which has ID and rabies tags) for walks or going places like the vet, and otherwise only remove them when the dogs are crated. The rope collars don't mat my husky mix's fur and wearing the regular collar for short periods of time doesn't cause dents either.
This collar was designed for a shiba for exactly that reason. It isn't for use with a leash though, it's to hold tags. I made my own from a strand of paracord.
Had a great weekend in San Bernardino National Forest (about 1 hour from Orange County, 2 hours from San Diego). Barley only carries about 5lbs worth of gear such as her jacket and boots, my microspikes for the snow, first aid kit, Sawyer Mini Filter, plastic trowel for bathroom breaks and occasionally a layer of mine goes in her paracord webbing. It's a pretty easy hike, permits are easy to get and water is plentiful. Ask me anything

Looks like you have a good list going, remember to update your pups microchip with your address and get him/her a tag with your details.
We got a 36 inch crate and it's plenty big for our boy (he's around 30 pounds).
Puppia harness is a great starter harness, it's soft and doesn't have a bunch of metal jingling pieces which our puppy HATED on his harness our breeder gave us.
Kibble, check out dog food advisor for reviews and ratings of foods content, we were using grain free salmon and sweet potato from chicken soup for the soul, it's decently priced and well rated I can't find it anywhere atm so we're switching him back to their normal kibble.
Salmon Oil is a lifesaver in the winter, our pup gets terribly dry skin and extremely itchy without it.
Start out with a puppy kong, they sell kong fillers that are cheese and peanut butter flavored, our puppy was pretty picky at first and only ate the cheese one, didn't like frozen kongs either.
I'd start with a Basic Collar here's a Dog Tag Silencer and a Break-away collar for outdoors or dog park. A dog was choked unconscious at our park so I typically just keep our guys ID tags on his harness and don't use a collar, but if you do I definitely recommend a break-away if you are primarily using a harness with it.
Items we found useful: Bed Liner, Crate Fence, Kong, Stainless Steel Bowls (highly reccomend US made do not buy any made in China for health reasons), Zippy Paws Hide and Seek toys, Potty/accident cleaner, Potty Bells, Anti-chew Bitter Apple spray, 50 ft Leash, Retractable Leash, Soft stop Leash extender, Car Seat Belt, Car Booster Seat, Gentle Shampoo, Comb, Travel Water Bottle, Flirt Pole, Special Treats, Chew Stick, Greenies
Sorry for the HUGE list lol, feel free to ask any questions!

Haha this one is pretty cool, it's made so you kind of thread their collar through and then it's just attached to her collar. Kind of like this: https://www.amazon.com/Vaburs-Bandana-Adjustable-Printing-Xs-Black/dp/B07SQPJQKD/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=Vaburs&qid=1568899028&sr=8-4
I bought a lot of it off zooplus but you can find pretty much all of it on Amazon! Here's the links:

Wooden stairs/platform - this one isnt exactly the same as the one I have but very close
Wooden bridge #1
Wooden bridge #2
Grass mat
Bird perches or lava ledges, whichever your prefer.
Wooden cabin #1
Wooden cabin #2
Wooden cabin #3
Hanging bridge/ladder
Boredom breaker garland
Silver and pink sputniks but they seem to be unavailable at the moment - keep checking back
Pink and purple sputniks on zooplus
The triple purple/pink hammock I made myself with some fleece and cotton. If you search "diy honeycomb hammock", you'll find lots of easy tutorials on how to make them! It's definitely a bit too small, it was my first attempt. Go bigger than you think you should is my advice lol
This is the fleece I use as bedding
And this
Anytime I get new fabrics, I wash them, dry them, then freeze them for 24-48 hours. I also freeze any new wooden toys, products etc. Prevents a mites problem!
Sputniks are a bit hard to find on amazon, they only come in the smaller sizes it seems like. Zooplus only ships across the EU but Im sending the link anyway in case youre in Europe!
Also it took me around 4 months to build up a collection of this stuff, dont feel pressured to make your cage look pretty or to have lots of stuff all at once! All that matters is your ratties have what they need, and then you can build up from there :)
I got the clasps off of Amazon, but as it sits now I wouldn't recommend them. I've tried a few different ones, and even some that don't say "break away" but do give under pressure. They all break free to easily or end up getting weak after time.
I ordered the only actual break away dog collar I've seen and I'm going to test out it's hardware. If it works I'm going to use it on a new collar for him.

As for the tutorial, I always work best off of pictures instead of videos, so here's the one I used.

Or a breakaway collar... It has both a quick release (for when you are there) and a system that allows the collar to come apart (in case you are not).

[Here it is.](http://www.Signature.com/ K9 Adjustable Nylon ID Collar, 1-3/4 x 14-22-Inch, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005CXJ3B2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_HWoEzbATWTRD0) I like it because I have a 75 pound dog that is all over the place when I let him be. It's tough, wide enough that it doesn't crush his neck if I need to correct him, and the buckle isn't cheap plastic but built with sturdy metal, same with the loop for the lead. Also has Velcro on it so instead of affixing tags to his collar I can get military patches made and slap them on for whatever occasion arises.
This was the collar. It surprisingly mellowed out our cat.

I got the one for the collar at Wal-Mart, but any craft store should have it. I would go for 1 inch clasp and rings. When I started on the cuffs I ordered this from Amazon.
Have you tried NutureCalm? It's a calming collar that she wears continuously for a month at a time and as a cat lady with a chronically anxious cat myself I've found it works much better than the diffusers since it's on her constantly and releasing the scent directly into her senses.

It's not a perfect end all be all product, my boy still has his fears, but he's been much better with immediate concerns and stress and outside of changing his environment as much as I humanely can, this has been our most natural and non-medicated option that works for us.
If you decide to try it, don't get it from your vet...they charge twice as much for it than amazon or chewy.com.
I think your monotone pup needs some color:

Hey, I see that you love dogs just as much as me!! I wanted to share with you this LED rechargeable dog collar I recently bought. It works really well at night when I take my dog out for walks. I had to share with you because I know it bothers you whenever you don't know where your dog is. Just a fellow dog owner that wants to help keep your dog safe and visible! You'll thank me later. :) P.S. They also have matching dog leashes too! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07VJXYN97?ref=myi_title_dp
there are better pictures of what this is here https://www.pinkcherry.com/sports-cuffs-tethers-kit
to make two you would need about 100" of webbing 1" or 3/4 for 50" for each. Sew one end to make a loop. 2 key chain rings (one for each end of the straps)
then a triglides probably with tension locks like this
or buy webbing and this kit. plus snap hooks.
I've bought from this vendor for making something similar. it could be the cats meow if you needed a bunch of these. I preferred cam locks over the triglide. Look at pricing If i remember, buying 4 pcs of something for a dollar or two more you could get 25 pcs. Same went for the webbing if you break it into a cost per yard, and a reel longer to a point would get more expensive.
There's also this one that attaches to your dog's existing collar.
one - two - three - four also in black&white - five if you have a dog/cat - six - seven - eight - nine - ten - eleven - twelve - thirteen - fourteen - fifteen - sixteen
This is the breakaway collar that we use for our dog. The breakaway part is partially covered by the tag in the photo on there, but it is separate from the regular quick release buckle. There's a D-ring on either side of the breakaway part, so if you want to walk your dog on a leash, you put the clip through both D-rings. I've found the collar popped open more than once because the tags got stuck on something, so I'm very glad we have it.

I've got this wheel for my two little friends and it's remarkably quiet:
http://www.amazon.com/Trixie-Natural-Living-exercise-wheel/dp/B0057FZ9AO?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
It runs on an axle with ball bearings. At first I thought the wheel would have too much mass, but in the evenings one of our two gerbils tends to go full throttle in it.
Also, gerbils like some privacy and some hiding places. Wooden houses or hollowed out coconuts are great. Mine gnawed away the ropes on this one: http://www.amazon.com/Prevue-Hendryx-62801-Naturals-Hideaway/dp/B007PO3AEC?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00 (bet they were really surprised when the coconut met gravity), so I replaced the upper rope (to suspend it from their ceiling) with a ball chain.
I've also found they enjoy lying in the morning sunlight, so you might want to place the tank somewhere it does get some direct sunlight some times of the day.
I have a 28cm Trixie wheel. I don't find it too loud - definitely substaintially quieter than any wheel I had that attached to the side of a cage.
Is it silent? No. I keep it oiled (with vegetable oil) so it doesn't squeak, but it's not silent, it is however quiet for a hamster wheel. I have my hamster in my bedroom and the wheel never wakes me up or bothers me. I think maybe it did for the first few days? But I got used it pretty quick and I never notice it now :)
Just seconding the raw diet suggestion. Especially for an Akita it should be a very easy transition... they were made to eat meat. We get compliments on our dog's coat all the time and our dirty little secret is we very rarely brush him. It's all him and the raw diet making us look good. It's also readily available food, just make sure any bones or anything that you give him are raw. Once they're cooked they can splinter, raw they are fine (even chicken/other bird bones).
For keeping him cool, I'm not sure what kind of access you'd have to refrigeration or electricity but there are collars that have reusable ice packs that slip into a pocket to keep the dog's neck, and blood to their brain, cool. Something to think about at least. [One on amazon].(http://www.amazon.com/Kool-Collar-Medium-Blue-Includes/dp/B00261NA58/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1348161877&sr=8-5&keywords=dog+cooling+collar).
Also, again depending on what type of accommodations you'll have and how permanent they will be... this summer we got a cool bed for our Akita since we don't have central air and it made a huge difference for his comfort at night. They aren't too big or bulky until you fill them up with water, so you could bring it over with you pretty easily and fill it once you're there. It doesn't sound like it'd work but it makes a huge difference and requires no electricity or anything. Only down side is it's a pain in the ass to have to move around or do anything with once it's filled with water. another amazon link
My dog wears one of these whenever we walk now (alaska and its already pretty much pitch black for both my morning and evening walk. I worry more about myself and the cars to be honest and therefore wear my "walking pants" which have reflective material on them so cars can see me.
It’s a house (they recently jacked up the price — I wouldn’t recommend buying it for $50 lol). I got it for my pigs, and they really loved sleeping with one pig on top and one on bottom, so I figured I’d put the little pet bed up on top, and they love it!
Get her microchipped, then you don't have to worry as much about her collar.
Although you could also get a break-away collar which snaps open when put under pressure.
It's kind of an unpopular opinion amongst some crowds, but when it comes to dogs that pull, I think harnesses are awful. I didn't even order them for the clinic past size medium. It only makes it easier for the dog to pull you (I used to explain it to people that they put harnesses on sled dogs...). If she ends up being the sort of dog that pulls (it's too early to tell and you've still got training to do) then I used to always recommend these sorts of collars. Yes, they are scary looking, but for a dog with pulling issues, it's very good at helping to keep them under control. I used to equate it, if you use it properly, to when your parents would pop you on the back of your head to get you to behave. Didn't hurt you but got your attention.
BUT, right now, she's far too little and young for that. Buy a cheap collar and a cheap leash. When you can, leave the leash hooked to the collar so she can get used to it; let her drag it around the house. She's going to hate it. She's going to rebel. That's the hardheaded chocolate lab in her. LOL
Get a prong collar. Works much better than a harness for keeping them from pulling. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000GDZ0RO/ref=oh_details_o03_s01_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
