Are you talking about the mushroom looking one that has a outside circular lip and a straight stem? They're called bellows plungers. You might not have been using it right, it's technically a different style plunger than those traditional red ones that you see in cartoons where they stick it on someone's face.

Bellows plungers are what they sound like. They're like bellows and bellows were used by blacksmiths to shoot air into the furnace to heat up the coals. Likewise, a bellows plunger pushes the water instead of using suction to pull.

They come in varying sizes but they use the same technique.

Here is a big one: https://www.amazon.com/LDR-512-P3515-Bellows-Plunger/dp/B00389X5LQ

This is a simpler one: https://www.lowes.com/pd/Liquid-Plumr-6-in-dia-Rubber-Plunger-with-18-in-Handle/1000096916

You have to fill them with water before you actually plunge. If you just stick in the drain then its not as effective.

The downside is it typically only works with toilets. You need some water in the bowl for it to work, enough to submerge it otherwise the water just falls out. So you can't plunge a sink with it really, you'd need a traditional plunger.

This four-chamber soap/shampoo dispenser is awesome. You can immediately clear out all those plastic bottles that sit at the corner of the tub or on those stupid hanging shelves that never stay in place.

EDIT: Fixed link

u/almightywhacko · 18 pointsr/wicked_edge

I know the Osma doesn't come in a plastic box, but make sure to leave it out in the open to dry properly after each use. Your old block looks like it was kept in a damp container a lot given it's very irregular shape.

I use a small "soap saver" to keep my Osma block on so that it can dry on all sides after use.

u/CC_DKP · 18 pointsr/whatisthisthing

They are sometimes called "Soap savers", since they stop the bar from sitting in water and turning to mush.

While not the exact model, here is a similar one:

These are a flimsier plastic than some of the other organizers here. But they do serve their purpose. They have little handles which makes it easy to remove them from the lower shelves of my vanity. They are 12" long which makes them too long to fit the short way on my cart.
Overall would mostly likely repurchase

https://www.amazon.com/STORi-Clear-Plastic-Organizer-5-Compartments/dp/B001B11ZV0/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?keywords=stori+5+compartment+organizer&qid=1566731411&s=gateway&sr=8-2

This is a nice heavy duty plastic. It is fairly tall which I like for my foundation bottles, primer bottles, and taller makeup items. It helps them not to tip or rattle around.
Would repurchase.

https://www.amazon.com/Vencer-Acrylic-Compact-Organizer-Powders/dp/B01AEBVRZ6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=vencer+acrylic+makeup+organizer&qid=1566731366&s=gateway&sprefix=vencer&sr=8-3

These are a heavy duty plastic. Some of my compacts are too wide or too tall to fit. For example my Hourglass powders have to go in corner first. And my Bare Minerals powders don't fit at all.
Would repurchase.

This is a basic palette organizer. Not super sturdy but it serves its purpose. My thickest palette is a PM mothership, thinnest would be a Viseart.
Both sit nicely.
Would repurchase.

This is a sturdy brush/pencil holder. I have face brushes, then pencils, then eye brushes. It doesn't seem like it would tip easily, however, it feels crowded. Like the pencils and brushes lean into the other compartments. I would look around for separate cups next time.

The lipstick holders I previously had. There are so many on the market and they seem to be all the same for the most part. I would probably consider getting a gloss one too which helps the taller tubes not to tip.

My favorite thing tho....the clear Mac bullet top. 10/10 for sure!

I own this toothpaste one for $6. Been working great for the last five years!

u/k701 · 11 pointsr/oculus

Today my second mounting clamp and rod came in. After trying several heights and angles, and testing with the desk demo I found that tracking was perfect from top to bottom except when facing the very edge of my bottom left room corner while my hands are in front of me. In which case my body completely covers my motion controllers and a third camera would still not be able to help since my room is too small /cluttered to cover that specific angle. The biggest thing that helped was NOT mounting the cameras as high as possible, as it is suggested by some users. The higher they are, the farther away they are, and being cameras and limited by resolution, being too far away (too high) results in jitter/unstable tracking. I ended up mounting them at about 7 feet high. I suggest a rod/clamp solution as it allows you to quickly test and make small adjustments, and using this setup allows you to move the cameras in every way possible (6 degrees of freedom). Here is the exact rod and clamp I'm using for those interested. Obviously any similar rod/clamp will work.

I use shower curtain rods that extend from floor to ceiling, and then a clip-on mount. They work great, don't look bad (I got white rods against my whitish walls) and you can mount the camera at any height/angle.

This is the palette divider

This is the one I use to separate brushes!

Both on amazon. The brush one has a back storage area where I put like blush palettes or whatever doesn’t fit in the other organizers.

The palette one is adjustable, so you can remove dividers to put more in one area.

Get one of these. Seriously, freakin' Walgreens carries these for like $12. Best plunger ever and you don't have to call a plumber at $50/hour.

Or just flush multiple times. Don't let this build up. Jesus, this was disgusting.

I love my Apex tanks but I know what you mean. I tend to just run hot water through it but i guess a soak in IPA might help with the left behind taste, just give it a good rinse afterwards. I have used the one above on other tanks with no problems.

One word of warning, I once tried to put a q-tip into it to clean, where the wick holes are on the tank (up from the bottom) there are two rubber seals that help make up the holes and one of the seals popped out and it was an absolute sod to get it back in, so don't do that.

I got mine at Bed Bath and Beyond but it was the last one and they said they weren’t going to get anymore in and that was 3 years ago. You can check there if you want but just in case...

Best plunger known to man

Source: I own it and I have had a plumber clear my toilet and tell me I should get more fiber, flush more often and hold the lever down to get more water during the flush. He was flabbergasted after he cleared it. This is the same plumber that replaced my entire toilet stack from the basement floor up to the toilet and tub. (not at the same time as the clog, later. (note: I now poop at work with pro toilets)

And it has been a game changer, no more bottles, easy to fill, no clogging. Will buy another for next house. No mold issues as of two yrs.

u/allyforyou · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

I got these three -
[Acrylic with drawers] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004KKXA58/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1), Acrylic lipstick storage (you can get this one a few bucks cheaper from another seller if you don't mind waiting for shipping), and this acrylic organizer

Here's a (maybe not too great) picture of them on my shelf! photo

If you have Amazon Prime you can get free 2 day shipping. I purchased all three for a total of $47.58 so a huge saving over buying just one original beauty box.

They're all sturdy thick (but not TOO thick) plastic. No fogginess or scratches on the surface or anything!

u/purebredginger · 2 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

Advice: plan out your meals weekly to help save you money. You can buy snacks and off your list every now and again, but you'll find yourself only buying food you need for the week so you hardly ever throw away food you never got around to eating.

What you need: a plunger. Guys do shit to toilets that just... idk how they do it..

cheeto fingers

u/waspocracy · 2 pointsr/shittyideas

This made me remember that most people are using the wrong plunger for toilets. Most people use something like this, but it's for sinks. A toilet plunger has an extra thingy (don't know technical term).

u/kste9 · 2 pointsr/AskWomen

I just started using Lullaby and was surprised at how much lather I got! I was not expecting it at all. My hair honestly felt cleaner longer throughout the day and even in to the next day. I love the smell of it. I know a lot of people have problems with drying them but I keep mine in a leftover (small) black lush pot. I put it in when I get done and set it on my sink while I get ready. Then before I leave I flip the bar so the other side can dry some more. Some people use soap savers but I've not personally tried it!

u/kejoho · 2 pointsr/muacjdiscussion

This post made me want to post my collection on /r/makeuporganization so I did let me know if you want a link to that.

I tried to be basic and cheap. Nothing was over $22 when I bought it. When I first started buying makeup senior year of high school I just used a Caboodle, by sophomore year of college I needed more room and I got a plastic set of drawers from Wal-Mart and expanded from there.

I have a set of plastic drawers I got from Wal-Mart for like maybe $10. I found some drawer organizers at Dollar General that were like $5 that look like this but they're white and not as expensive. Each of the three drawers has a different item like lip products, eye products, and then cheek products. There isn't a lot happening in the eye drawer other than random mini mascaras and colourpop SS shadows, and my brow pomade because most of it was WNW 8 pan palettes that I cluttered.

Then I have an acrylic organizer that I got at At Home that holds my everyday concealers, mascaras, eyeliners, and some lip products. It looks like the top of this. I coudn't find the exact one though.

Then I have another acrylic organizer that holds all of my palettes and it's my favorite makeup organization purchase I've made. You can find it here

Lastly I have a container with five sections that holds my foundations, brushes, and liquid lipsticks. It can be found here

It's mounted with silicone adhesive glue so that it won't fall off the wall. It comes with good instructions and was ready to install.

I use a plastic bathroom orgainzer, like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001B11ZV0/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_apa_i_srCZDbK2GYD52

I think mine is a little bigger than that with a bunch of different sized sections. I bought it at the grocery store, and it holds all my pens, pencils, markers, stencils, rulers, erasers, etc.

u/t0t3zad0rbz · 2 pointsr/RedditLaqueristas

I use SuperNail Glitter, which Sally's Beauty Supply sells online. If they don't sell internationally, Amazon also sells it. If not, I've seen Martha Stewart's craft glitter used in nail art quite frequently. It's sold in craft stores (Hobby Lobby, Michael's, JoAnn's...) and amazon. Good Luck!

u/hip_drive · 2 pointsr/LushCosmetics

Sorry, I have to put in my two cents. OP, I would only use the tin for the purpose of carrying the bar back and forth from your room. If you put it in the tin after you shower, it will start to get melty and goopy and really hard to use. It needs to dry out! You could prop it on its side in the tin, which would help to dry it out, or use a special soap dish like this soap saver which will allow it to dry completely every day! (Btw that Amazon price is absurd. You can find them for a buck at the drug/cosmetics store.)

You should get a tin! But I wouldn't keep it in there all the time.

This looks amazing! I’ve been looking into similar ideas into how to spice up my groups current folding table.

In regards to cup holders, I found these cup holders that I was thinking about getting. I haven’t ordered them yet, but they seem like they would do the trick.

If you find yourself with some spare time today, do you think that you could go a little more in depth with the creation process? Specifically, what you used to get the cover to snap onto the folding table?

u/polluxstoi · 2 pointsr/Vive

Not exactly mounts, but Shower Compression Poles work great (don't forget to get clips), and are portable or cheap enough to get two sets maybe. They are also more sturdy than a tripod, because they won't be effected by floor vibrations.

I keep my Movis on one of these "soap saver" dishes but anything similar that allows water to drain away would work (they're fantastic for shampoo bars too!). You mean, like this: plunger ? How do you know what size to get?

u/NoShftShck16 · 1 pointr/lifehacks

So what is happening is that the hot water is causing steam to rise creating the slightest 'vacuum' in your shower. The further you point the shower head away from the curtain, the further the curtain comes into shower.

You can do two things. One, angle the shower head closer to the curtain, itll help push the curtain away and will somewhat level it out. Or buy a curved shower rod.

You can get an inexpensive one like this or the more expensive alternative that rotates to free up space when not in use.

I used a condom which smoothes it out. The fact that its a straight solid phallus helps apply pressure right where you want it. However i have experience with larger toys as well which helps so that i can comfortably accomodate it. I know that sounds odd but its long enough and stiff enough to easily manipulate it and put pressure right on the prostate and it has a rounded tip.

In my apartment we use clamp camera mounts (https://amazon.com/dp/B00PICAE4C/) with tension rods (https://amazon.com/dp/B00IF5SY1E/) run vertically (floor-to-ceiling) with the cables wrapped down around the pole. While the pole is more of a visible 'thing' than just a tiny wall or ceiling mount, it gives a natural place for the cables to run (versus just down the wall) which IMO makes it look much better than any of the other options (at least for us renters who can't run cables inside the walls).

Less ideal for tracking but more minimal, I've also seen people mount their two front cameras on the back of the top two corners of their big screen tv or wall mounted in this location along with a wall-mounted TV, and having the cables run down the back of the tv with the other tv cables.

Another option is to ceiling mount sensors above or just in-front of curtains for a window or sliding-glass-door and run the cables along the top and side of the window/door frame completely covered by the curtains.

---

Aesthetically in many cases it is pretty much the same whether you're running a usb cable down from an Oculus Sensor or a power cable down from a Vive lighthouse--either way you have to run a single black cable down the wall from mount height to floor height (the aesthetically challenging bit) and then cables along the baseboard (which is easier/not a big deal by comparison).

I forgot to consider you might be out of the U.S, but my tips should still apply.

This might sound obvious but don't overpack clothes. Some of my roommates and myself included brought so many clothes that we don't use and it's just taking up space.

For kitchen use, take your own utensils but just one of each you're not going to need more than that trust me. For kitchen equipment like pans and pots, if your buddys do get in coordinate who takes what so you don't have multiples.

In the beginning it's all about taking what's absolutely essential, if you're able to go home during breaks that's when you bring some more stuff if you have the space.

I'm gonna link some stuff in a moment that you should absolutely consider buying. They're going to be amazon links but big chain stores in your area should carry similar products.

These three products fold so they're easy to pack in any suitcase.

A little bigger so you'd have to buy these once you've settled in but they help if you're low on space.

Plastic is your best friend if you're low on funds and can't buy dressers. I have one in my closet for T-Shirts/socks/boxers and one under my T.V desk for electronics/school stuff

I ship to Mexico sometimes so maybe you can ship to Chile as well.

Oh my goodness this is needed in my life right now. I'm in my first year of teaching a Kindergarten/1st year split class and it is INCREDIBLY taxing. A long bubble bath is just what I need. Today I had a kid sneeze in my face...

Congrats on your promotion!!

Well, I've praised French Butter Keepers here before, but I am always willing to tell people about HOLY SHIT THE BUTTER IS ALWAYS SOFT IT'S FUCKING WITCHCRAFT.

On the more... practical side of things, everyone should have one of this style plunger Seriously. Especially if you have a very wussy low-flow toilet like my apartment does.

And a good pair of all-purpose scissors. It's important to have your junk scissors be distinct from your paper scissors and your fabric scissors so you don't gunk up the latter two.

Unfortunately Canada gets kinda shafted on contractor poles (it would cost me $400 just for 2 it seems that's for the 4-pack on Amazon, and getting 2 would actually be $200)

I did spot these however, would they be able to hold up a lighthouse? I'm not 100% sure what my ceiling height is however it is a flat ceiling rather than an angled ceiling.

Here is the cupholder if you're interested in making this same upgrade. Almost breaks the bank at $8.79 but it's worth it!

I've actually had my best results with a plastic toilet plunger handle. The handle part was like a row of marbles glued in a row. It would glide in and out easily and quickly. I would pump my ass as fast as I could. So my sphincter was made to open and close at super high frequency.

MINTCRAFT Toilet Plunger Handle, 6-Inch https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003484KU6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_dDalDbTC7HJKT

You can find something similar at lots of stores.

No. I did not sit down on it, for safety. I took the handle off and threw away the rubber base. Then I laid on the floor and just pumped my ass for all it was worth.
