Dove GoSleeveless active ingredient is: Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly (15.2%)
Try finding another deodorant with this same percentage or higher of AZT Gly.
For what its worth it seems they have some available on Amazon, must be the last of the stock cuz its $40 for a twin pack

If you are a sweat machine like me, I would look into Certain Dri. I get the prescription strength roll on which is intended to be used 3x a week (they have a stick version now that is not as strong that is intended for daily use but I like the strong stuff better)
You apply 3x a week at night before bed. After using it now for 9 or so months, I can happily say I sweat about 80% less than I used to. It has completely changed my life. Of course I sweat during a workout or strenuous activity, but my day to day I dont usually sweat at all. I can wear colored shirts again!

Its just an anti-perspirant, so every morning I still use a deodorant just to add some freshness. But now I can use any mild deodorant that I want, even the really cheap ones. And no longer need to load up on deodorant/antiperspirant combo products and pray for less sweating. I cant say enough good things about Certain Dri. If you read some of the reviews on Amazon you will see 99% of people who use Certain Dri saying the same thing. It really has been a game changer for me.

Instead of a loofah, I use a Salux cloth. It's much easier to rinse off in the shower than a loofah, much easier to clean my back with, and I can wash it with my towels over and over. It exfoliates really well -- I do the cartoon thing too! My skin isn't perfect, but it's in much better shape whenever I use this, and it doesn't fester in the shower like my other washcloths.

u/sunset7766 路 22 pointsr/AskWomen

I got the travel size of this. You wet it and also wet your clean armpits (can't be put on without cleaning your pits wth soap first) and rub it all around each pit for 30 seconds. It neutralizes the zone, making all the smelly bacteria not smelly anymore. People say you still sweat with it, I say I sweat even less than what I was with regular deodorant, and now I smell like literally nothing in there. Also, the rock lasts forever. That is, unless you drop it in your sink and it breaks, which is why I went with a travel size. I know someone who has the kind where it's a whole rock in a dish like this and she's on year 5 and the darn thing is not done yet.

Also, it was explained to me that one of the reasons aluminum in regular deodorant is bad for you is because since it's a large metal particle, it literally clogs your sweat glands. So in doing that, your telling your body it's basically not doing a good job of sweating (because you're blocking the sweat) so your body is like "omg we need to work harder!" so it produces more and more sweat. After a few years of that, your body is like on hyperdrive of making you sweat, rendering your deodorant useless. So when I switched to the crystal and quit blocking the sweat glands from doing its natural thing, my body was like "hell yeah we're doing a kickass job we don't need to work as hard to push this crap out anymore" and now I don't even sweat almost at all anymore.

I am a sweaty person. I have tried all the name brand antiperspirants/deodorants. After years of crusted yellow/white stained shirts, I realized that my body seemed to compensate with more sweat, plugged up under the arms, it surfaced on my back and head. Clinical/prescription strength antiperspirants only added to the problem, and my white tees took the damage. Later I found out people, myself included, actually use too much, you only need a super thin amount applied to your underarms, don't go about it like frosting a cake.

Also thinking about the potential harm of aluminum based antiperspirants (you absorb everything through your skin), I moved on to some natural deodorants (brands like Toms) but they just didn't seem to work so well, but i did notice when I applied less deodorant, or didn't altogether, my sweat began to lessen in severity. Anytime I actually smelled (like after yardwork or a any long day in the sun), it was time for a shower anyways. After I was properly applying a thin coat, I settled on Arm & Hammers Essential Deodorant that began to alleviate my problems, notably with my clothing. No more yellow crusty shirts!

But how about some deodorant that will last you several years? Try a Thai Deodorant Stone, I've had this baby for a year now and I can attest that it works great. Nowadays I apply this to my underarms from time to time and lightly powder my feet and groin with a mix of cornstarch and talc. Life is much better now.

TLDR: Use less antiperspirant and try a deodorant stick without aluminum, like Arm & Hammer Natural Essentials, or try a Thai Deodorant Stone cause it rules. Also try applying talc/cornstarch to areas you get moist

And while we're on the topic of saving money on everyday hygienic activities, consider a safety razor (refill blades are $10 for 100 compared to $20 for 8) some nice sandalwood shave soap (I've had this bowl for a year and it doesn't really look like any is gone) and a nice aftershave (I get lots of compliments on the particular scent of this one from those who get close enough to smell it) I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging...

Before I started shaving like this, I had a bit of an acne problem and some parts of my face where I would get spots of dry skin, it's gone now. My skin is mostly clear. You're gonna get a much better shave that doesn't irritate your skin and save a ton of money when you think about the cost of Gillete Quadruple edged razors, plus how much more badass is it to shave like this? This is how your grandpa shaved. The upfront investment is a badger brush, which I called an investment because a good one will last you a lifetime.

That's my hygiene ramble.

u/InexorableMarch 路 15 pointsr/asktransgender

There's a pretty easy way to avoid this:

  1. Take a warm bath with some bath salts. After about 10 minutes of soaking or so, exfoliate your skin, try this: (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001POYT16/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) That's just an example, you can get some epsom salt (same stuff) at Walmart for half the price.

  2. Exfoliating the skin first prevents ingrown hairs. Super important. The first time I did this, I did not know how to shave my body properly and I ended up being way too vigorous and getting lots of nasty razor bumps. To exfoliate I used:

  3. Loofah or Pouf (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001CTQMIC/ref=oh_details_o02_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) again check Walmart, it'll be cheaper. The main idea here is that you want to exfoliate dead skin and loosen up any hairs that are growing.

  4. St. Ives Exfoliating Body Wash (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004JLGC12/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1) This is a really great natural exfoliant that you can put on the loofah/poof while you scrub

  5. After exfoliation, you shave. I shave against the grain with a good Gillette razor using this shaving cream: Cremo Cream (http://www.amazon.com/Cremo-Astonishingly-Superior-Shaving-Creams/dp/B003FVWRCK/ref=pd_sbs_hpc_3?ie=UTF8&refRID=191FPDNMEKJB5PRZXF94) Which does a really tremendous job. You only need to spread a little bit of it around and it helps to give a really great shave without any irritation (great for both men and women). Plus it last a long time.

  6. Moisturize with your favorite skincare lotion, brand doesn't really matter. You just want to keep that area moist and healthy.

  7. LAST STEP. Most important, DO NOT DO THIS THE SAME DAY YOU SHAVE. DO IT EITHER A COUPLE DAYS BEFORE OR AFTER. Use an acid-based lotion like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000TTPZQ6/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 or http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002D48QRK/ref=oh_details_o06_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The basic idea here is that through chemical exfoliation they'll smooth the red bumps and give you a very smooth look.

This is my skincare routine and I don't get any of those ingrown hairs or razor bumps. I used too, though. That's why I do this.

Using an anti-perspirant like The Face Saver under your makeup can help a ton.

I was once a depressed teenager who hated bathing so I'll give it a try!

INOFACE makes a Jelly Body Wash that could be fun. I'm waiting on mine in the mail right now, it's basically the same as LUSH's Shower Jellies, and they have Peppermint or Milk. (I found these on memebox)

If he can fit into a bath tub, something like this might be fun to recreate a sort of Onsen inspired experience. I'd recommend gifting these in tandem with a bath tray and maybe a bamboo plant or other small greenery to give a more 'Japanese Spa' atmosphere.

I hope this helps :)

I've got the EXACT same problem, and its gotten worse as I've gotten older. If I've got something coming up that I really want to make sure I'm not going to sweat at all during I use a combination of these and this stuff. I also get self conscious about it, but these two products have made a HUGE difference for me. That top customer review for the towelettes says everything I can about their effectiveness for my fellow sweaty faced brethren.

This stuff from Arm and Hammer is my go-to; I've been using it for about 5 years! Amazon link for example, I often find it at CVS for cheaper. I bike everywhere and am a pretty sweaty lady, and it still works well for me.

Over on the makeup sub, someone mentioned using
Neat Feat 3B Face Saver Antiperspirant Gel for Facial Perspiration and Shine as primer for hot days when you need your make up to stay put. I bought it. Tried it. It freaking works!

I have sensitive skin so I was nervous about the whole thing, but it kept my face dry. I noticed you can鈥檛 put it on too thin or it won鈥檛 really be able to do its job, and you have to allow a few minutes to dry before adding makeup.

u/kalechipsyes 路 8 pointsr/TrollXChromosomes

Please, someone w/ some money, Amazon Prime Same Day this girl the following:

Bath Pillow - so, so much more comfortable.

Overflow Drain Cover - This keeps the water level high so the body feels more buoyant and is more covered.

OP, if your water heater is pretty efficient, and you don't pay for hot water, you can also consider keeping the tap always running a tiny bit so the bathwater stays high and warm, nye indefinitely. If you gauge it right, the overflow drain won't ever let it overflow and you've got nothing to lose but tension.

Wishing you comfort and coziness, OP.

I use the rock after every shower and have used it for about 5 years. You need a bit of moisture so I towel off and the little bit of moisture from the shower is enough. It doesn鈥檛 smell and it doesn鈥檛 show at all. I then use a regular antiperspirant after it cause I sweat a lot (don鈥檛 we all). I think it helps a huge amount. I don鈥檛 get b.o. smell that is noticeable at all anymore. I鈥檝e even put my shirts pit right up to my face at the end of the day and take a huge whiff and I don鈥檛 smell b.o. just the smell of my antiperspirant. I think what it does (I鈥檓 not 100% or anything in this) is neutralize the bacteria that causes the smell. So since it鈥檚 neutralized it doesn鈥檛 make the smell. I love it and highly recommended it. The one I use is just a stone in a basket I got on amazon
Crystal Body Deodorant, Rock, 5 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019G9OTYI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_HGeZBb468ANSA

I have been using this one for a year or so and the one I had before I used for around 3 years and it barely shrunk. Unfortunately I dropped it one day and it shattered into a million pieces so I had to get a new one. If you have any other questions about it I will happily answer them to the best of my knowledge. Rock on dude. Ha!

u/nosysister99 路 7 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Hopefully they clear up with extended use! Physical exfoliation can also help a lot, I use a Salux cloth in the shower as a loofa. I鈥檝e also read that wearing tight clothing, even jeans, can cause ingrown hairs, especially if you鈥檙e not using some form of exfoliation.

u/erin_said 路 6 pointsr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I use the crystal deodorant, and it's a little odd to get used to at first, but it works great! You have to reaaaaallllly get it all over your underarm area though, not just in the pit...I rub mine a little bit on the sides of my armpit and then a lot farther up and down (like a bit down onto my sideboob area and on my arm where it touches my side boob area). I definitely had a few days where my body was sort of getting used to not having traditional deodorant on, so I was a bit stinky, but it didn't last long. Now the only time I get stinky is if I'm doing really heavy physical activity in the heat, but that would have happened even when I wore normal deodorant. This is the kind that I buy because I hate the dispenser on the stick version, but the stick version works just the same. My favorite thing about it is that it's cheap and it lasts a super long time. The only time I've had to buy new deodorant since I've started using it wasn't because I ran out (I wasn't even close), but it was because I dropped the crystal chunk and it fell awkwardly and shattered.

u/CretaMaltaKano 路 6 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Or even a loofah on a handle! I have very inflexible arms, so I use a loofah strip with handles like this to scrub my back. I love it. You could use it to scrub anywhere, really. Plus you can chuck it in the washing machine.

u/ohobnatu 路 6 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I love my Salux wash cloth. It's not a loofah or a sponge, but it exfoliates really well and since it's so long you can scrub your back and shoulders really easily. It's also machine washable, so I've been using the same one for like four years!

u/Dandoonam 路 5 pointsr/AskDocs

I can't shed any light on this I'm afraid, though I can offer a 'solution' (apologies for the pun) which can help you: This. Given it is a spray, it would probably make for the easiest application for a (probable) hairy area.

Goodluck.

https://www.amazon.com/Mitchum-Anti-Perspirant-Deodorant-Unscented-3-4-Ounce/dp/B001EWEP86?th=1

That's the stuff I've been using for years.

EDIT: Moreso to this point - a true 24 hour antiperspirant does exactly that - prevents you from sweating. If you sweat, then your product of choice isn't working. The problem there is that it simply may be your body chemistry that is allowing the sweat to mix with bacteria and turn yellow, not the antiperspirant you are using.

u/fluxusisus 路 5 pointsr/SkincareAddicts

I use these. They dry quickly and are inexpensive enough to throw away when I need to. I only use one at a time, and hang it to dry on my shower rings. I also find them at tj maxx for a few dollars less than that amazon link.

It really just makes your armpits dry as a dessert. What you do is, apply it before you sleep in the effected area( Your armpit), and the next morning wash your armpits, and then you have 5 days of dry armpits, but you have to apply it every 5 days. But it only takes like 2 minutes!

So, I get bad ingrown hairs after shaving my bikini line (no matter how I do it --- soak in a bath, fresh razor, shaving cream, etc.). I've turned to waxing. After I my bikini line is waxed, if I don't do this regime (see below) I still get some ingrown hairs. With this regime, I get no (or very few) ingrown hairs.

After a wax, I leave the area alone for a day or two (maybe put a little tea tree oil on it).

Two days later, I start scrubbing the area when I shower. I use the Japanese Salux Bath Towel to scrub it. In order to prevent ingrown hairs, the area should be scrubbed well every day (or at least every other day). Immediately after the shower, I put on a splash of No Bump RX on the area---it stings a little, but works wonders. The No Bump RX doesn't work well unless the pores are open---so do it quickly after a shower. (I use the No Bump RX for a week or two after a wax, then I don't usually need it anymore.)

FYI XXers: The Japanese Salux Bath Towels are incredible for the whole body---they won all sorts of awards in Japan. They are super cheap and last a long time. They don't get mildewy like loofahs do, and the exfoliate far better than a regular cotton-type washcloth. With a little bit of soap, they create a fantastic lather. And, they work fantastically for scrubbing the back---they are super long, hold one hand up and the other down and scrub away! (I realize I must sound like a commercial, but I've been using the towels for over 5 years and love them --- I should be getting paid.)

u/Colonel_Oscopy 路 4 pointsr/malefashionadvice

The deodorant is DEFINITELY the culprit. Aluminum causes most of the yellowing. More importantly, it is probably not good for you to wear such a strong anti-antiperspirant.

First, because it is not good to clog your pores, regardless of what you are clogging them with. Sweating is a natural body process.

Second, aluminium CAN be absorbed into the body transdermally via your armpits (source). That much is clear. Whether or not it can cause harm is still up for debate. But, IMHO, if you can avoid using it, you probably should.

So, here are steps you can take to transfer away from aluminium.

  1. Look for an all natural, aluminium free deodorant. It is important to note that this will not anything like you are used to. It will NOT stop sweating. It will just help you smell better. Tom's of Maine makes some (I don't really like those, but some people swear by them). Arm and Hammer makes a nice one. Or, you can go really natural, and use something like Weleda. That is what I use, and it is just alcohol and natural oils.

  2. Trim your pit hair. Don't shave it like a woman, but trim it down like your beard. This will help to decrease sweating and bacteria growth.

  3. Wash really well in the shower. I mean scrub the shit out of those pits.

  4. Don't wear under armour or other quick-dry type shirts. Those tend to pick up odor really quickly. Wool is the best for resisting odor, and cotton is ok, but not great. Both are better than the synthetic shit.

Try all of that and see where it leaves you. You will still sweat, but you probably won't develop an offensive odor, and your shirts won't turn yellow.

As for the shirts that are already stained, I don't know what to tell you.

Hey, I recently posted some success with absolutely obliterating my keratosis pilaris, but I'm not sure which product it was. I get it on my thighs and upper arms, but it's completely gone in the last month. I've added two products to my body routine. Once a week, I take a bath with these japanese bath salts and once a week, I put on a benton snail bee essence mask and slather the remaining essence all over my body. I'm pretty confident that one of these two products is the reason for the change. The bath salts are what I'm putting my money on, at the moment, but it's really hard to tell. Exfoliation never worked for me. I think it actually made it worse.

Birthday Shenanigans are always good.

Have you ever had sex while camping? It is "intents" <-- this joke is lame.

Bonus laughs: How can you not laugh at a dog who goes to great lengths to get chicken nuggets out of the toaster oven? This is one of my favorites to watch. It is a tad slow but this beagle mix is pretty dang smart!!

I would love this bath pillow if I won. Or anything else on my list, to be honest. BUt baths have been my saving grace since I had my ice skating accident on Sunday - lol.

There is a product here on the UK called Driclor. You put it on at night then wash it off the next day. It works very well for this condition. If you aren't in the UK, I'm sure there will be a similar product available.

Mild body wash (I switch it up from Dr Bronners unscented to Cetaphil Ultra Gentle to Nivea Sensitive and everything in between) and flipping LOVE my Salux cloth. So much better than a regular loofah and it's machine washable to get all the germs off, if desired. Then I spray a generous amount of Theraplex Clear Lotion, but if you don't like being greasy, they have the HydroLotion as well.

My skin has never looked better, barring the very occasional pimple or two on my back.

I can't use "normal" deodorants as they always irritate the shit out of my pits and have messed up some shirts like you mentioned. I use this stuff right now and it is really good. It keeps me smelling good until I get home from work. Another option could be essential oils as they do a really good job of keeping you smelling good (a few friends do this, i've never tried it tho.) I also used to use some Lush deodorant that worked really well but i don't remember which one.

Is it localised hyperhidrosis (occurs in certain areas only?) If so the answer is Driclor. Follow the instructions TO THE LETTER and within a week it'll be dealt with. Driclor replaces your anti-perspirant though.

I mix either sugar, salt, or baking soda with my face wash and exfoliate with that. Though I recently got a pair of bath gloves, like these. Now I use those on my face and don't have to add stuff to my face wash.

u/AlexaviortheBravier 路 3 pointsr/ftm

No problem.

I had some issues where I kept changing something in it and messing all my progress up. Been doing much better now that I realized I was the problem. Seems like a lot in writing, but it really isn't much.
__
AM:

  • Wash hands

  • Wash face with Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser gently using kojac sponge

  • Pat dry with washcloth

  • Apply Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera with a cotton square/circle

  • After shaking to mix, pat on CeraVe Moisturizing Cream to which I had previously added almost .5 fl oz/15mL of 100% pure tea tree oil. (I think I read that it should be no more than 10% tea tree oil.) Last time I used Now tea tree oil but I have also used Jason.

  • Wait a while and sunscreen before going out, added to help scarring. Not sure if the one I had been using was good for my skin though so I won't put a brand here.

I mainly use the kojac sponge because it cuts down on me picking the flacky skin off my face which tended to be the gateway to me picking acne or peeling off scabs.

    __

    PM:

(I do my face wash last step in the shower even though places tend to recommend against it because of the heat; if I turned up the heat a lot during my shower, I turn it down to wash my face. It seemed to me that I used more heat in the sink after showering since my hands can stand heat better than the rest of my body.)

  • Wash face and neck with Hado Labo Rohto Gokujyn Hyaluronic Acid Cleansing Foam (Harsher so I prefer it at night.)

  • Pat dry with towel before drying any other part of my body. (I go face, hair, upper back, rest of me and don't lay a towel on my back after showering since that seemed to cause acne.)

  • Apply Thayers Rose Petal Witch Hazel with Aloe Vera with a cotton square/circle

  • After shaking to mix, pat on Differin Gel

  • Pat on same CeraVe Moisturizing Cream as above to face and neck.

    __
    Shower details:

I use shampoo/conditioner that doesn't contain sulfates. I know my one friend realized that sulfates in her shampoo were likely what was causing her back to break out. I use this which is expensive but it lasts me a year even though I tend to overuse it.

I also wash in the following order: shampoo, conditioner (leave in), private areas with water, wash my hands with my body soap (Dr. Bronner's), then my shoulders/back before any other part since that seemed to cut down on back acne as well. Last, in order, I wash my armpits, groin (not the inside of genitals, I mean my groin pit?? [Where my leg bends] I cover my genitals to keep soap out of that area.), feet. Then I rinse out the conditioner and do my face wash routine.

Edit: Also forgot to mention that I avoid letting soap sit on my skin. Trial and error seems to show that that causes me to breakout as well so I rinse it off as I go.

I don't change my pillowcase every night but I flip them. I have two pillows I sleep on and I sleep once on each before changing the pillowcase.
    ____

I would definitely recommend changing one thing or adding one thing at a time and patch testing if you can.
    __

ETA: If your acne is severe, I'd still recommend a dermatologist when you can go. Or maybe talking to your primary doctor even. My HRT prescriber, for my acne, prescribed me Doxycycline and Tretinoin at one point. I don't use either, currently, but you can try using a non-dermatologist if you don't have any other option.

    Edit2: Clarified some minor things.

I have bumpy chicken skin or I should say had, and also ingrown hair from shaving. Not sure why only recently I decided to look it up and actively try to fix it but I found out it's best to exfoliate often and moisturize often.
Like you I've tried lots of different exfoliating things before but didn't really help. Then I came across a little Japanese grocery store in my neighborhood and saw they were selling washcloth but man it felt so stiff and harsh that it'd rub your skin raw! But it was $4 so I bought it anyway.

It takes some getting used to since it is very rough. But once you get used to it, it feels great! And all the bumpy skin on the back of my arms are gone. Most of the ones on my legs are staring to come to head as I'm now focusing on them. I still don't moisturize as often as I should but thank goodness the water isn't as hard here so my skin isn't as dry either.

This Japanese wash cloth isn't the same brand as what I have but a lot of good reviews too and it does seem to be similar. Hope that helps.

I happened to read about these two products today in a lifehacker newsletter I receive, perhaps they may help? [Carpe]() foot antiperspirant or [Sweat Block](). I had no idea such products existed until this morning and the Amazon reviews rate them as excellent. Also I have read that 20 min black tea foot soaks helps with the smell allegedly, never tried it, so ymmv.

As to why they sweat so much, it's probably hyperhidrosis, which is a fancy way of saying overactive sweat glands. Usually it's hereditary, kicking in around puberty. I have a couple of family members who suffer from it. They are otherwise healthy except for the excessive sweating. There may be other medical causes, especially if it occurs later in life, but usually has other symptoms with it at some point.

Edit: a typo

[Male] I've got fairly severe body acne and a mild case of rosacea (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosacea) (damn you Dutch genes....) Haven't ever gone to the doctor for it, but it's been... difficult. I have a hard time viewing myself as attractive as a result. Have an amazing girlfriend who still finds me attractive in spite of it all.

That is to say: The right person will still thing you're beautiful. Someone who is repulsed by it probably isn't worth your time.

Something I've done in recent weeks that has severely reduced the amount of body acne...

This: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000535RD/ref=oh_details_o02_s00_i00

Used with this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000I20Q72/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i01

I tried this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Y038CS/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00
But it wasn't NEARLY as effective as the Neutrogena for my specific skin.

It hasn't made things go away completely, but it's reduced them enough that I was able to go to a water park last week with my girlfriend and her family and had enough courage to not wear a shirt all day long.

I've also found that spending a few days in the sun and letting my skin soak in the rays will certainly alleviate the appearance as well and hide some of the scarring. The body acne started when I was about 15 (now 25) so it's not an insignificant amount. Face is 99.9% clear all the time - just back, shoulders, etc.

Eventually, I'll go in to a dermatologist for it, but in the meantime... limiting chocolate intake (sad day...) and the linked products have drastically reduced it to the point where it's now mostly sub-surface and leftover scarring.

I'm glad you're still alive. Suicide is always tragic. Stiff upper lip, chin up, all that jazz.

I use this to help me reach. It also helps with the dead skin. I also use Hollywood Beauty to cut down on using the topical cream. (Ive noticed the creams start to discolor my skin really bad after long term use.) I swear by this stuff. Tea Tree oil really helps out my psoriasis. I saw an immediate difference in the severity after a few days. I put it on with the scrubber at the end of my shower and do not wash it off my back. When i get out I do not wash it off with a towel. The oil will seep into your sink.

I hope this helps! I really think you'll like it if you try.

Personally, the last thing I want to wear in super-hot weather is a lot of layers of makeup. I like products that help to limit perspiration, like Mehron No Sweat liquid or Neat 3B Face Saver gel. I often bring a small alum crystal, dab it with a few drops of water and rub it around my armpits and crotch (and sometimes my feet) a few times a day depending on how much I'm sweating. It coats your skin with a fine layer of double sulfate salts that are completely harmless to humans but prevent the growth of bacteria. It's what I use for deodorant at home every day and it works great if you apply it correctly. (You shouldn't use it inside your vagina- just on the outside areas of your body where bacteria like to grow.)

If I use the alum crystal to freshen up occasionally on the trail, then I'm often smelling pretty fresh when I set up camp. But sometimes when I get to camp, I'll wash with a dab of peppermint Dr. Bronner's in my pits, crotch, and feet, and then wipe away the soap with a damp pack towel. Then re-apply the alum crystal.

Sorry if this is TMI but I also bring baby wipes for my butt crack. Sometimes if I've had coffee in the morning, I'll get a little anal leakage on the trail, so baby wipes are a quick way to clean up that area.

u/pencilears 路 2 pointsr/TwoXChromosomes

stand up/squat leaning forwards, then I bring my arm around behind my leg then pull backwards so that I'm wiping from from anterior to posterior.

I prefer standing because quite frankly I'd rather not get a handful of toilet water (seriously, I don't understand sitting while you wipe.) and I also like the ease of access afforded by standing.

I tend to use a moderate amount of paper wadded into something that resembles one of those shower-poofs, with the aforementioned continuous swipe motion, if I have pooped I will apply some extra pressure and care when I get to the anus so as to get any stray poop particles.

These are all good suggestions, but what I see missing is EXFOLIATION. This can make a huge difference.
Before you shave, I recommend these gloves or something similar:
https://www.amazon.com/Aquasentials-Exfoliating-Gloves-pairs-White/dp/B001C1LBG8
Simply wash your face like normal; use warm water and face wash. Lightly scrub the areas you want to shave with the gloves. Rinse, now you're ready to shave.
I love the mention of oils. One thing I've discovered to work the best though is to use a cream shave first! I don't try to do an extremely smooth shave at this point. I'm just doing a light shave with the cream. Rinse, then apply coconut oil. Now I can do a better shave, and it usually ends up being incredibly smooth and non irritated. This is actually the only method I've ever used that gives me a completely smooth shave.

You need a cleanser. I have had this issue for ever, I'm 22 now and this issue was worse with catridge razors for me.

Essentially, my face is extremely sensitive (like many) below the chin. It is there that irritation is most likely and will cause these whiteheads to pop up.

The way I shaved was only half the problem. Before switching to DE shaving I figured it was just a skin issue. As such I tried numerous ways to clean my face, as well as ways to get rid of acne. The answer was never an acne solution, rather it was finding the right way to clean my face.

Since my face is sensitive, I cannot use things like washcloths or pads. These are too abrasive and exacerbate my redness and dryness. Instead I use a [Konjac Sponge] (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00JL2TURM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01) with activated charcoal as my cleansing pad.

Then I needed to find the right cleanser. I cannot use anything with abrasive beads, or products that are too drying. The cleanser that has worked fantastically for me, but is a little pricey, is Ursa Major Fantastic. It is non drying, all natural ingredients and leaves my face looking really clean as well as feeling cool and not dried out.

This cleanser improved the issue SUBSTANTIALLY. Soon after discovering this cleanser I decided to switch to DE. Now, I am able to perform a 2-3 pass shave with my Parker 24C, The Blades Grim Satin Tipped Brush, and soap of choice with little irritation. I follow this up with a cleanse, aftershave, and then a balm.

Hope this helps.

I had a bottle of olive oil that I mistakenly bought a year or two ago because I had forgotten I had just bought another (large) bottle. It was nearing its expiration date and I wasn't even done with the first bottle, so I figured I'd make soap out of it. I got lye and a simple soap mold off amazon for about $25. I already had the oil (which would have been around $10-15), utensils, bowls, and a scale.

If you had to pay for all of that up front, it's probably $50-60, depending on what type of oil you used and whether you wanted to add scents to your soap. I got somewhere around 12 bars from that, so at the high end, you're paying $5/bar of soap, which is pretty high considering it isn't even fancy or professionally made. For your second batch though, you're really only paying for the oil (the bottle of lye will make a bunch of batches), so it goes down to around $1/bar depending on what type of oil you use. You can get Ivory soap off Amazon for around $0.75/bar, so small batch homemade is still more expensive than store-bought, and you need space to store the ingredients/equipment and the soap itself while it cures.

Of your list, deodorant might be the easiest/cheapest thing to make yourself. A lot of the homemade recipes are mostly baking soda and coconut oil, which should be relatively inexpensive. I'd caution you to make a small batch first though, because baking soda can be irritating; my experiment with homemade deodorant was very short-lived. Alternatively, you could try crystal deodorant, which is inexpensive and lasts forever, although it does still have some packaging waste (which like, you'd think they could do better considering their primary audience is eco-people...)

You didn't mention it, but a scrub or lotion bars might also be easier and relatively inexpensive to make yourself. If you want to really cut the costs, why not invite some friends over for a beauty-product-making party? If everyone pitched in a few bucks, that would help cover equipment and bulk ingredients (bulk ingredients that it would take you years to use up by yourself), it'd be fun, and maybe you could nudge some fresh minds towards zero-waste.

Honestly, I just bought this one because it comes with a plastic hook and it was on a flash sale. I don't know if this is life changing, but it hasn't broke me out. I'm honestly not sure if it's any different from the cheap $1 ones on eBay or any of the other ones on the market.

I prefer the charcoal because I feel like the white ones you can see the 'yuck'. I also like the circle shape compared to the teardrop shape. I have a better grip with the circle shape. I also feel the teardrop is too flat for my liking.

Honestly, the best trick is to make sure it's well wet before using. I keep one of those cheap containers, add some water and let it soak before using.

A solid performer among deodorants is Tabac's Deodorant Stick. "This masculine scent possesses a blend of lavender, citrus, and warm florals." I can't wear antiperspirants so among deodorants only, I've found Tabac as well as Herban Cowboy to work well.

Herban cowboy has one called "dusk" it's all I use. I found most deodorants gave me issues. This one is good, mild, and smells great.

I bought this one on Amazon. I hear they have them cheaper at Asian stores or beauty supply stores. But they supposedly last 3 months so saving $5 was not of importance to me.

Try this stuff. Use the liquid not the stick, and use it as directed. Shower at night, dry off, and apply. It will itch like a mofo, don't scratch it. You'll be dry as a bone for the next day. If it's not strong enough, you can ask for prescription strength from your doctor.

u/informareWORK 路 1 pointr/MuayThai

In the shower, wash your hands really well and exfoliate them. These are cheap and do the job: http://www.amazon.com/Aquasentials-Exfoliating-Bath-Gloves-pairs/dp/B001C1LBG8/

After the shower, use an intensive moisturizer like Vaseline Intensive Care, Bag Balm, or Aveeno Eczema Therapy. I bet if you do that for a couple of weeks, you'll see improvement.

You can also use jojoba oil to moisturize your hands throughout the day. It is very similar to our natural skin oils.

Haven't used anything fro my face because it isn't an issue, but I googled some time a go for a solution for my sweaty hands and I came up on a lot of stuff some of it has mixed reviews on amazon so I'd recommend doing a little more research before you buy and maybe you'll find a better product, but there's this for your face.

And there are more products like this or this for hands.

Actually this might be what you're looking for, read the reviews and questions for more info.

u/Oranos_Rex 路 1 pointr/internetparents

It sounds similar to something a friend of mine with a similar problem got. He said he had to apply it every now and then at night and it would stop sweating but that it also caused a stinging sensation - from the reviews that doesn't seem to be the case, and it also seems to be put on each night and then keeps you dry all night, but could you just add your 2 cents on how it feels when applying it/how long it lasts for? THanks

Has anyone tried Neat Feat 3B Face Saver Antiperspirant Gel? Is Aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex glycine 17.5% bad for you?

I tend to sweat a lot more than others, especially on my entire face and came across this product. Does anyone have any experience with this? Isn't aluminum bad for you, ie. anti-perspirant for your armpits because they have aluminum in it?

A salux towel works great. This is nice as well. I use a Foreo Luna which is awesome but also a bit pricey. I'm not sure if it's worth it but it definitely provides a deeper clean and softer/brighter skin over using my hands. I've also seen cheaper versions on Amazon although I can't speak to the quality.

Keep product to a minimum and don't be afraid to over rinse if you're not sure that everything is gone.

u/hitforhelp 路 1 pointr/Hyperhidrosis

Driclor
Certain-dry
Anhydrol Forte

All these products are for topical application to help deal with HH. I have personal experience with both driclor and anhydrol forte and both work. My only complaint with using them is when applied on my feet or underarms it can produce a stinging sensation. Once applied and working I also sometimes feel a tightness on my hands and feet when they are trying to sweat but cannot.
This said it is worth it for the cost of the product and treatment results.
They may not be the 30% you are after but I can confirm that they work even at 20%.

First, I would sit down and watch a movie with my SO. If I were alone, I would watch a different movie. While watching said movie, I would most likely paint my toenails. Cause they need a good painting!

I would either order myself some dinner, either Chinese or pizza so I didn't have to leave the house. Everyone needs a "I'm not changing out of my pj's" day.

I'd need snacks too. Like brownie brittle or chocolate. And ice cream. Lots of ice cream...with chocolate in it...?! YES. With chocolate!

Lastly, I would finish off the night with a nice hot bath. There's nothing like a bunch of steam and bubbles to get ya' nice and relaxed.

That's how I'd spend my "Me time"! :D

u/im_a_pah_ra_na 路 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I'm going to suggest buying yourself a charcoal Konjac sponge (I prefer Pure Sol), and the Cerave Foaming Cleanser. At night, I use makeup towelettes to remove my waterproof mascara/eye makeup (I'm not a fan of using oil or liquid based makeup removers on my eyes, so the towelettes work just fine for me), then I cleanse with those two. After that, I just do my normal moisturizing routine. Oh, and I'm combo, too! Hope that helps. :]

After a shower, with the body still slightly wet apply deoderant and spray 1 or 2 mists of cologne in the air and walk into it. This is all you will need.

Have you tried something like this: Perspi Guard Antiperspirant Treatment (UK)?

It's very effective. I used to sweat a lot in social situations (social anxiety), and using this helped with that. The hand is probably the easiest place to apply it to, as well!

Otherwise see a GP and mention how it's affecting your quality of life. They might have something even stronger to prescribe.

I had the same problem. Try driclor (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Driclor-Solution-Roll-Applicator-20ml/dp/B008R7BT5S) it seriously works. WARNING the first time you put it on overnight it burns, a lot. But you stop sweating out of your armpits entirely.

Prepare for chaffing in more places. Wet weather will slow down evaporation of sweat, so that will combine with the actual rain to keep your clothes pretty wet.

Consider at least throwing single use anti-chaffing cream of some kind in about all of your drop bags. Chaffing can really sneak up on you and bite you later in the race, or even just make post-race miserable when you jump in the shower and discover how raw you are.

Something like this at least- https://www.amazon.com/2Toms-SportShield-Blisters-Prevention-Towelettes/dp/B004453IH4

Unless it will be pouring, I wouldn't worry about extra shoes. And on top of that if it is raining that hard, you shoes will just get wet again in no time. I would focus more on extra socks and maybe some foot saver cream.

Just for example - https://www.amazon.com/Carpe-Antiperspirant-Dermatologist-Recommended-Solution-hyperhidrosis/dp/B019E8H5TC

I get a buildup under my armpits, on chest, and around ankles. I know what you mean by the brown stuff that you scrape off.

The best solution is a soap with pumice (lava soap/solvol), second best is a soap with oatmeal. You are right loofahs don't really work, buy you can get exfoliating bath mitts that work well (you can find these gloves at the supermarket). Don't use these exfoliating products more than once a week. Do this in the shower after skin has softened a bit.

iherb has a lot of exfoliating soaps but I haven't tried them

I use this stuff.

I (like others) found that using a deo w/ antiperspirant only made things worse. You can also take baking soda in the shower, rub it on a wash clothe (I usually used soap too) and wash your underarms. The baking soda will typically reduced sweating. Also, baby powder (after you are out of the bath and dry) after putting on deo.

I don鈥檛 like the soapy/laundry detergent smell of white antiperspirant sticks.

I use a Crystal Deodorant Rock. It has no smell at all. You wet it and rub it on clean skin after you shower. You still sweat, but don鈥檛 smell bad. It doesn鈥檛 work if you already have even a little bit of body odor already when you use it.

Mode de Vie Shea Butter Lip Balm - the only lip balm I actually USE UP and buy more of! I have used at least 6 tubes of this over the past few years. My lips were never the same after braces and this is the ONLY thing that actually makes them feel normal. Fair-trade shea butter from Africa.

Salux Japanese scrubby cloth - Washcloths too soft and small? Loofahs too hard and not flexible? Puff balls too soft? And none of these reach hard-to-reach areas! They sell these cheap at drug stores (<$2), are like 1' wide by 2.5' long so you can stretch it out and scrub your whole back, they create the perfect lather, and are the perfect amount of abrasion for daily use and light exfoliation.

Swedish Egg White Facial Soap - picked one of these up randomly for <$3, and it lasted me like 7 months with daily use. It's a great light facial cleanser for sensitive skin.

I've always been a sweaty buggers, mostly on the underarms. I use a strong ass anti perspirant called Driclor which you apply overnight. It can be a bit irritable to the skin if yours is very sensitive but it tends to be okay for me.

In the past I've tried Sweat block and Perspi-Guard but found Driclor was by far the most effective and least irritable.
