I cosplayed as Law last year as well, but this year I finally managed to get a good shot of this outfit! The hilt of my sword suffered a bit throughout the con, but the added breeze was a nice touch with the feathers, and my posing is getting better (I usually really suck at it, much to the disappointment of everyone who asked to take my picture, I’m sure). Follow me on Instagram at @black_leg_robby if you feel so inclined, and throw me an upvote on GoGo Cosplay's Anime Expo 2019 Showcase if you feel it's worthy enough (there is some really good cosplay on there)!

EDIT: I've been getting a lot of questions about the shirt, so I'll answer that here along with some other questions about the outfit:

  • I got the shirt from Zazzle right here in navy blue, and at the time I chose the American Apparel Fine Jersey Long Sleeve T-Shirt, which doesn't seem to be an option anymore, but I'm sure the Basic Long Sleeve T-Shirt is more or less the same. I then altered it a little bit to better fit my physique.
  • For the hat, I used the one released by Cospa as a base, and then I sewed the bill more upward, filled in the spots to better work with the seam splits while also adding new spots to accommodate said sewing, added padding to fill it out, and fluffed up the bill to make it look more like the manga.
  • The tattoos are temporary tattoos that I printed myself using Sunnyscopa Laser Temporary Tattoo Decal Paper. Note that it requires the use of a laser printer and will not work on inkjet printers, so you must have access to a laser printer in order to use it. If you don't have a laser printer, you can easily go to the nearest Fedex Office and have them print it for you. They do make an inkjet version, but I've found that it doesn't work nearly as well (rubs off easier and the ink bleeds).
  • For the jeans, I first created a few different stencils for the spots, and then used brown DecoFabric markers to draw them in.
  • I got the earrings from here, and they work really well.
  • I purchased the sword from Coswinner.com. It's a little pricey, but it's the appropriate length and is made of wood, allowing me to take it safely into the convention center. Only problem I have with it is that the damn ribbon on the hilt easily slides out of place and is difficult to put back properly. Other than that, it works well and looks great!

Also, sometimes Law does smile! I do understand where people are coming from though, haha. I'm pretty sure I do have some pics of me scowling, but I definitely need to work more on that aspect of Law's character.

It's funny because practice sheets exist

u/HERD_ · 52 pointsr/badtattoos

I don't know anything about tattoos, but maybe it's a good idea to send him some practice skin, this is <$12 on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Sheets-Tattoo-Practice-XLarge-Count/dp/B001CJSKUK

I hope he's doing alright otherwise

u/Beetunes · 35 pointsr/UnconventionalMakeup

The green and yellow are from a UV face paint kit I found on Amazon, the teal is from the Wolfe FX Hydrocolors Essentials Palette. The liner was NYX Matte Black Liquid Liner. Lashes were Dodo D105 (these have huge lash bands lol, beware).

u/win_chelchel895 · 16 pointsr/weddingplanning

From my understanding if the dress is made of high quality sequins and beads, they should not be cutting your arms since they won't have sharp edges. Cheap sequins are normally the perpetrators of this. I learned this trick from Reddit tho. You take adhesive that theatre people use to attach facial Morphers and hair, and paint it on the underside of your arms on the dress, right where your arms would rub. This keeps the sharp edges down to keep from cutting your arms.

I've used this before https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B018WJFBEU/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/dysentary_danceparty · 12 pointsr/rpg

I mean, these exist - [Fake Skin for Tattooing Practice] (http://www.amazon.com/PFT-Sheets-Tattoo-Practice-XLarge/dp/B001CJSKUK)

Could use those as a base and do what you're describing with latex on top of that/rigid colloidal and blood. I do not know how they'll take to the details, they're made for practicing tattooing so that is their intended purpose to act like synthetic skin. It might work as a base, and it's cheap, and it's in sheets! Maybe!

u/veggiezombie1 · 11 pointsr/JUSTNOMIL
u/groucho_barks · 10 pointsr/fo4

Pork bellies, baby! But nowadays they have [fake practice "skin"] (https://www.amazon.com/PFT-Sheets-Tattoo-Practice-XLarge/dp/B001CJSKUK). Then once they start on customers they should only by copying small simple flash designs until their line work and shading are solid.

SOOO much cringe

u/BernThereDoneThat · 9 pointsr/weddingplanning

I've heard that sequin dresses like this can be scratchy under the arms, but another Wedditor recommended this product. You put some on your skin where the arm and sequins would meet and it provides an invisible barrier.

u/wiggy3624 · 9 pointsr/thelastofus

You can get a temporary one on amazon to try it out.

u/fogdogS1 · 8 pointsr/ElectricForest

That’s completely acceptable and I’d do the same. Recommend reusable face gems to them, they come as a single sticker that you just stick to your face and peel off all in one. It also takes a lot less time to apply one of these than to glue a bunch of glitter to your face. You can get them on amazon for pretty cheap, it’s around $10-$12 or so for a pack of 10–just look up “reusable face gems.” Something like this is what I’m talking about. The gems are embedded in the sticker part so they generally don’t fall off and won’t cause a mess in your RV.

Get them some of these as a gift and help get them in touch with a professional that they can apprentice under.

The guy/gal has lots of promise.

u/InYourLibrary · 7 pointsr/RedditLaqueristas

Haha, the BF got me these because they do actually have nail decals in the package. It was a "hold over" gift because 1) he knows I love nails and 2) he couldn't wrap my actual present which was a couple's spa day! But there are a ton of other tattoos in there that are just fine for nails. This one was one tattoo that I cut in half :)

u/Yanni_Depp · 6 pointsr/funny

Not that they never did, but I know some people that became professional tattoo artists, and they never mentioned using a pig. Historically I know it's been done, but I'm not sure it happens much now, at least in the US. You're spot on about drawing a lot, and also sweeping floors (because you're an apprentice in a tattoo shop). For practice with a tattoo gun a lot of them use themselves, and their buddies who already have a lot of tattoos and won't mind a silly little token from their friend.

I would say it's more likely that in 2017 there are companies that sell some kind of "skin surrogate" to test on than using a pig (or part of a pig). Yup, one google search and here it is. I'm not sure if this is frowned upon in the real tattoo community (as opposed to the DIY tattoo community).

u/ilivefortaquitos · 4 pointsr/bicycling

For maximum comedic effect, use a fake tattoo sleeve to cover your tattoos.

Or I suppose you could try a tubular compression bandage. They're cheap, they hold on well, and you can cut them to size.

u/FuzzyRocket · 4 pointsr/cosplay

Check into tattoo paper, you can print on it via inkjet or laser printer. You can also use tattoo sleeve

u/annoy-nymous · 4 pointsr/BurningMan

My friend used these: Amazon

We only used the "big" patches of multiple jewels, and they stayed on fine through all conditions and didn't MOOP. Some designs also have some smaller single jewels, do NOT use those as they're not sticky enough and will actually MOOP.

u/Checkmate1234 · 3 pointsr/FancyFollicles

Thank you! They are just metallic temporary tattoos! Just something a bit fun for the summer! :) I got them on Amazon if you are interested!

I recently purchased some for Above & Beyond and EDCLV from iheartraves, then I found these on Amazon! They're just as good as the ones from iheartraves.

I will say that they fell off my face before I even left my house, so I needed to reinforce the stickiness with spirt gum. To be honest, one still fell off at the event. But I'm still going to wear them all three days at EDCLV.

u/one_pump_trump · 3 pointsr/Austin

If you are hesitant getting a sleeve, don't get a fucking sleeve. Its probably cheaper to get one of these instead: https://www.amazon.com/Efivs-Arts-Temporary-Tattoo-Sleeves/dp/B003RPYKLK

u/fuzzy_one · 3 pointsr/cosplay

Check into tattoo paper It is printer paper that you run through your inkjet or laser printer, that turns it into a tattoo.

u/om_steadily · 2 pointsr/sexover30
u/thebroccolimustdie · 2 pointsr/WTF

They make a practice skin to practice tattooing on. I do not know how different it is from real skin though. Seems like it'd be better than a pumpkin, that's for sure.

Ninja Edit: Found some here. Seems to be pretty cheap too.

Depending on you not having a latex allergy. Use some body paint to paint on a bicycle shorts and jersey outfit. Then go biking :)

Il y à ça, je ne sais pas si ça existe sans les tatouages.

:D :D

I'm so happy to hear that!! Glad my intuition was right, because I was somewhat worried that it would struck you as "see? I -do- have to hide it to be accepted/good enough".

But instead you did hear it as something that can support you, as I meant it.

As I mentioned, they come in all kinds of colors and sizes, so you can even use it as fashion accessory that compliments your clothing! :)

Edit: and depending on your personal preference, you can go beyond a single color and go all the way up to full tattoo style art:

https://www.amazon.com/20PCS-Temporary-Tattoo-Sunscreen-Sleeves/dp/B01I1VK4ZA

;-D

I keep using Amazon, but others like eBay etc. will have similar product ranges. Your local sport shop might also be a good chance if you want to get a feel for the material first.

u/LexiKnot · 2 pointsr/weddingplanning

One thing I should've mentioned... run this idea past your sister/MOH first, in case she's doing something already similar to this. Just say something like "I want to make a little something for everybody as a Thank You, what do you think of ____?"

And since your sister would "know" what your idea is for the rest of the girls, and because she is planning this, get her something extra or different as a Thank You :) Maybe like a necklace, fav perfume, wristlet, gift card to her fav store, OR an extra large bottle of wine haha. Besides the alcohol, Amazon (Prime, if you have) is awesome in terms of your timeline right now.

Not sure what your budget is, but here are some ideas:

I just used this over Halloween. I loved how easy it was to apply, how long lasting it was and it never cracked or flaked for the 5+ hours I was wearing it.

I really like these face jewels. Not a tutorial, but they are long lasting

u/That_Cupcake · 1 pointr/BurningMan

I really like wearing make up. I enjoy putting it on, I enjoy picking out new colors, and I enjoy wearing some art on my face. I wear make up at Burning Man. If you like wearing make up, and you want to wear it at Burning Man, go for it! Part of the event revolves around self expression, so do what you love!

Burning Man does present some make up challenges, but it's certainly not impossible. These are a few things that have and have not worked for me in the past:

-Get your eyebrows dyed at a salon. Seriously! Mine grow in blonde, so instead of messing with a brow pencil every day only to have your goggles rub it off, I bring my pencil into a salon and tell them to dye my brows that color. This will save you a lot of time and frustration.

-Skip the foundation. I don't personally wear powders, foundations, blushes, or concealers often, but I definitely would not wear them at Burning Man. If you wear it, you're going to sweat it off, or you're going to have to be that person who pulls out a mirror and fixes it every few hours.

-Waterproof mascara and eye liner. I saw a few people mention that the dust will turn your mascara grey, but I haven't experienced this for myself. I'm pretty diligent about wearing goggles in dust storms, and when it's not dusty, sunglasses.

-Lip stain. I'm not really a brand person when it comes to make up, but I'm definitely an amazon review person. This product had good reviews, so I ordered it for Burning Man, I got it in the mail last night, tried to today, loved it.

-Skin Care. Don't forget to take your make up off before you go to sleep. I made this mistake one night two years ago, woke up with pimples.

-Temporary tattoos. I have sensitive skin so I don't wear these on my face, but a lot of my makeup-wearing camp mates swear by them. You can use these in place of eye shadow, they last for days, and they only take a few minutes to apply. These can be simple or extravagant. I personally like these metallic body tattoos.

Hope this helps! )'(

I recently started getting really bad ingrown hairs on my legs. Two products have made a huge difference so far: this scrubbing mitt and Cremo shaving cream. I use the mitt twice a week in the shower and it's really done wonders for me! The Cremo shaving cream gets a nice close shave and has been less irritating for me. I also periodically use the Mario Badescu AHA body soap and moisturize with this cream that contains urea and lactic acid when my legs are feeling especially dry and a little rough.

Literally drop everything you’re doing rn and buy some Tend Skin. It burns so good. And works so fast.

Tend Skin The Skin Care Solution For Unsightly Razor Bumps, Ingrown Hair And Razor Burns, 8 Fl. Oz Bottle https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001ECQ7G4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_VJ-MDbQP3TDC4

Then if you wanna get really into it, make sure to exfoliate the area every day. If you’re shaving often I would use an anti-bump scrub like this one:

GiGi No Bump Body Scrub With Salicylic Acid for Ingrown Hair & Razor Burns https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DYJJQS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_aN-MDb4GTV8XM

When you use the scrub on the area make sure to start using it 1-2 days before shaving/waxing and then wait 24 hours (or until the next day) to start using it again. It’s very important that you use the scrub often to exfoliate as your hair starts to grow back. This removes the dead skin cells that hairs can get trapped under and lifts the hairs to promote them growing outward and not inward, causing those painful bumps. To really get the job done, try applying the scrub with an exfoliating mitt like this one:

Skinerals Scrubbing Exfoliator Mitt - Exfoliating Gloves To prep and exfoliate skin for self tanner sunless tanning (Exfoliator Mitt) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XNVKRMP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bS-MDbNCC2Y5P

After shaving or waxing, apply some finipil to the area for the first few days as the skin is still raw and prone to infection. This will not only fight against infection and ingrowns but will have a really soothing and cooling effect on the skin. Pricey but worth it:

finipil Lait 50,1.5 fl oz, 44 ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C4YJL96/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_bT-MDbDVD2PJ8

Do all these things and you should be good. Remember: our skin isn’t meant to be removed in the first place. It won’t simply play nice just because you want it to. You’re going to get ingrowns and bumps and dark spots sometimes no matter how hard you try so you just have to accept that you’re human and be okay with it. But I definitely believe you can manage ingrowns greatly by committing to a regimen.

Practice skin. If you want to go above and beyond, and are a hopeless romantic, contact a local butcher and get her the hide of a freshly slaughtered pig. Pig skin is the closest substitute for human skin, and if she wants to be a tattoo artist it's the best medium to practice on. Maybe some incense and flowers as a stocking stuffer, because your place might smell like dead pig for a while.
