We rotate toys. The toys that don't get much love go into storage. Three months later pull them out and rotate with the others that are not interesting. For the loved and most played with toys we use an upright toy bin rack like this

I made this. The dimensions aren’t perfect but might help see a different way. https://imgur.com/a/XHTquaV so just some thoughts. Move things up walls for space. The glass enclosed dresser doesn’t look easily used. Move the desk over into the corner and move the tall dresser were the glass front one is. The chest and case on it are rough and not very functional. I’d get them out at least while figuring everything out. If you can add shelves or cubes above your side table that would add space. They would need to be screwed in. If you can’t then skip that. Hanging laundry baskets or use a shelf with a couple storage bins to toss laundry in. Depending on measurements possibly something like this on the glass front furniture. C&AHOME Cube Storage Organizer, 8- Cube DIY Plastic Closet Cabinet, Modular Book Shelf Organizer Units, Storage Shelving Ideal for Bedroom Living Room Office with Doors, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XFHW6LK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_fX7RDbR8FS51M shelves with storage cubes, containers or such is another option. Add shelves above the desk. Again bins, tubs, cubes even paper organizers can be used. Dollar stores can give extra options. Don’t consider things exclusive. I needed a closed container to hold chopsticks. I bought a pasta container. Think about how to move things up. Think about how you like things for ease. I like doors but for example some cubes come with or without drawers. Under the bed- I’d consider it storage. It doesn’t look convenient day to day. Under there you want to put this. DampRid FG60FS Moisture Absorber, Fresh Scent, 10.5-Ounce, 2-Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00CBLW1MQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_L37RDb41XX5VS put reminders in your phone and empty it every few days until you know how much water it absorbs. You replace the crystals every so often. Keep it away from pets. Damp rid will grab tons of moisture but while you’re checking everything out make sure you don’t see signs of a pipe leak. Mold, soft walls, moisture and bad smells pay attention to. Other type cube options but not this brand ClosetMaid 8937 Cubeicals Organizer, 9-Cube, Espresso https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001UU0NJW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_G87RDbVTHK1NV

Whitmor Storage Cubes - Stackable Interlocking Wire Shelves - Black (Set of 6) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007ELALZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_Y77RDbMDF1414

There’s also things like this if you have space. SIMPDIY Portable Shoe Rack Storage Organizer Shoe Box Storage System with Doors, Shoes,Accessories - Black (2x6 with Boots Cube 93x126x108cm/37x15x50In) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PZ6K548/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_3-7RDbVY3FSB5

Don’t forget what you choose should work for you. So even something like kids toy storage might work better for some. Like this. Tot Tutors WO498 Elements Collection Wood Toy Storage Organizer, X-Large, Grey/Blue/Green/Yellow https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07638ZJQY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_.b8RDb5P0ZMB6 or this Delta Children Deluxe Multi-Bin Toy Organizer with Storage Bins , Grey/Blue https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074PY2ZGS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_Gc8RDb9CTVC9T there’s stuff like this. LANMOK 3pcs Hanging Mesh Storage Basket Foldable Space Saving Toy Organizer with 3pcs S Hooks for Kids Room Bathroom Wall Balcony Wardrobe https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H9VBKW6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_yd8RDbW8NAFWA

Basically storage needs to go up. Bed drawers don’t work in large rooms so use for storage. Put damp rid out. Make sure no leaks. For me the idea is enclosed. Choose what works for you. Don’t forget if the idea of doors on storage cubes don’t work for you that you can use a curtain to cover it if you don’t want others to see. The idea is finding what works for you. If you move things and have a wall space open buy taller items. I’ve been redoing a smaller space so feel free to ask if you need some other suggestions.

Edit another idea is move that wood dresser to the window like in diagram, glass one next to it and cubes where the wood one is now.

Yard sale season is coming up, so scour your area for those. We scored a free toy storage shelves like this and this lego/train table with storage underneath - both for free on the curb in our neighborhood. I also got alphabet foam mats like this one for $10 on craigslist.

As far as stuff we paid for that I'd recommend:

  • This storage thing - it's sturdy and not too expensive.

  • This matching bookshelf.

  • One or two of these hammocks for stuffed animals.

I'm not sure if you're looking for toy suggestions, too, or just room design elements...

I have one of these on my wish list right now: https://www.amazon.com/KidKraft-Bookcase-Reading-Nook-White/dp/B00W610EZC

Have this one and it is nice for display but doesn't even come close to holding all the kiddos' books. https://www.amazon.com/KidKraft-14221-Sling-Bookshelf-Natural/dp/B0018MCVH4/ref=pd_lpo_21_tr_t_3?ie=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=4Q63Y1NPQ7T4BHCD4T49

Not exactly the same as the shelves in the photo but I bought these off of Amazon.

Depending on what you're using them for, but the shelves are actually wide enough to hold something more substantial than books or little decorative trinkets. For example - I use mine to hold my record player and receiver.

Here is a run down that should be helpful:

  • My Figure Collection is the main site for keeping track of your collection and also looking up figures

  • Nyaa Figurines and Neko Magic are good for checking on new releases

  • The most popular case is the Ikea Detolf. As for bookcases/shelves, I would recommend these: Simpli Home Ladder Shelf, Winsome Wood Wide Shelf, Winsome Wood Narrow Shelf, and Furinno Corner Shelf

  • The Ikea Dioder LED lights are popular for lighting the cases, but I prefer these LED lights as they are stronger and cool white (even the multi-color Ikea Dioder doesn't do a true cool white)

  • The most popular scale figure companies are Good Smile Company (GSC), Alter, Max Factory, FREEing, and Kotobukiya; STAY AWARY FROM GRIFFON FIGURES!

  • I would recommend pre-ordering from AmiAmi, HLJ, or Hobby Search

  • For ordering already released figures, you can check the above sites and also Mandrake, Plamoya, and NY

  • If you can't find a figure on an English site, you can either use a proxy service or forwarding service to order from Japanese sites. Proxy services buy the item and then ship it to you. Forwarding services is where you buy the item and have it shipped to them and then they will forward it on; useful for sites that won't ship outside Japan. Big in Japan is good for these services.

  • As for wall scrolls, I would recommend staying away from eBay and Amazon, these are usually not official wall scrolls and the quality is a lot lower. I've actually been making my own wall scrolls and using this Custom Wall Scroll site to have them made. The print and material quality is really good and this way you can get the exact wall scroll you want.

drawer spice rack 1
.
drawer spice rack 2

Both of these are good options with very little extra work.

.

toy organizer my son loves this. He can be asked to pick up all his cars, trains, toy animals, etc and scoot along the corresponding box. He is 2.5 so I drew content pictures on the front of the box to help him
.
undersink shelving this is way easier than building shelves to go around the pipes.mi still use bins though.
.
drawer doubler for going in drawers to hold meds, first aid supplies or makeup

I have four of these setup side by side filled with bourbon bottles and LED strip lighting behind them.

I got my daughter one of these after having much the same problem. It's sort of a vinyl fabric but if you sew you could always use the existing one as a template and make a new one. I've been very happy with it so far and we've had it 6 months or so.

This is what it is, the fabric ripped after about a year of use

Heck yeah you can ask! The crib we didn't get from amazon. We live in DFW and so have access to a Nebraska Furniture Mart. We ended up going with the Kalani brand from them because 1) it's cheap and 2) it came with the toddler rails already (we didn't get the full bed conversion kit, still undecided there). You can get it from Amazon, but it's more expensive and I'm not sure that the rails are included!

It's the same deal with the changer and dresser combo. We found it at NFM but you can still get it on Amazon

The bookshelf we had to get on Amazon. Everything in store was cheap quality or extremely expensive. Some were also way too tall and a kid could seriously hurt themselves on it. So, we ended up with this.

We also ended up getting the travel system on Amazon, too. We made sure to check it out in the store first but the price is the same and shipping was free so we figured, why not? I also really like this system because the stroller will fit the carseat BUT when she's too big for the carseat, I can still use it as a toddler stroller.

The mattress we ended up getting on Wayfair because it was cheaper and shipping was free. We seriously spent hours looking at mattresses and ended up just picking one. You can get a super cheapie at $20 or you can shell out over $300 for one. We ended up getting one that's decently priced (maybe even a bit cheap) but figured we'd rather start there and see how she tolerates it, rather than spend big bucks on a super expensive one. This also has really good reviews so definitely do your research and figure out what's best for you!

Let me know if there's anything else you need! I love shopping and we're doing a lot of it! :D

I bought this last summer and really love it; easy to put together, looks great: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B017GVMILE/ref=od_aui_detailpages00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This bookshelf for my daughter's room. . . I want to get something that isn't dangerous and as this is made mainly of fabric, it is perfect. My daughter LOOOOVES books and here is where they are for now :-)

u/sharkamino · 1 pointr/vinyl

There is also a 2 cube version. Way Basics 2-Shelf Vinyl Record Storage Cube.

If you are planing on more than 2 cubes, I suspect that a 2x2 or larger unit will be more sturdy.

Target makes a Kallax clone Threshold by Target if you are not near an Ikea. Also Walmart Better Homes & Gardens and Wayfair Closet Maid.

I prefer open top crates that are easy to flip through.

Throwing out a few ideas.

Starting with the pine countertop. Apply a contact paper such as this marble one to add a more refined look. Choose a contact paper that is made for countertops and matches your home. Consider something similar to your bathroom or kitchen counters. There are many styles of contact paper such a tile and stained wood. I would also add table legs like these to stabilize the countertop, especially for my next suggestion. Make sure the countertop sits at least a couple of inches above your washer and dryer (I know it seems like a no brainer but just in case).

To help distract away from everything thats going on, I would add a cube shelving unit like this one. Use fabric cube boxesto store your detergent and other cleaning supplies. They come in different colors and designs. Make sure you order the right size for your shelving unit. This idea would help visually clean up the space. If you decided to do this, I would remove the wall shelf. I would not suggest doing this without attaching table legs to the pine.

Throw up a tension rod with a neutral curtain to divide off the room. I would use rings since fabric on rod isn’t good for constant movement. If your home calls for it or you’re into some extra, look into decorative hooks.

Hopefully my suggestions will help you create a great laundry room that fits your needs and requests.

Here is the bookcase, I'm very happy with it. (https://www.amazon.com/Tot-Tutors-Storage-Bookshelf-Collection/dp/B000IHJF60/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1498696855&sr=8-2&keywords=kids+bookcase)

And yes, she's a mini Eskie! Our vet says she's got a little Pom in her, and that's why she's not full size.

Or more generically, bins on shelves. We end up using these far more than our large toy boxes. The toy boxes end up getting used strictly for thigns that don't fit in the bins.
